My switch to Bulb was without problems. However, they did not alert me to the fact that their prices were due to increase in the next few days .

Hey there. Thanks for the review. We don’t like increasing our prices, but because our tariff is low and reflects the true cost of energy, we have to change our prices when costs change. Unfortunately, the cost of supplying energy has gone up significantly. We also notify a month in advance so people are advised of the change incase they wish to switch. Following the uswitch website I moved to Bulb from npower for my energy needs. Quoting a cheaper deal than other companies. Within the month Bulb put up energy prices and also asked me to increase my monthly payment. Needless to say I wasn’t too happy at this and will remember it when it comes to switching in the future.

Hello Edwin. Thanks for leaving us a review of Bulb. Unfortunately we did have a price increase but the cost of energy has increased. We offer a variable tariff which means the cost we charge reflects the cost of wholesale energy. On occasions this would mean an increase in direct debit to ensure this increase is covered. If the cost of energy does decrease we will notify you of this change. Best, Carl

Cost went up from initial agreement by £20 pcm after 2 months. So it’s not worked out any cheaper for switching.

When you originally sign up to Bulb, we recommend entering your annual consumption so that we can accurately calculate your monthly direct debit. We appreciate that this information isn't available to everyone, so as an alternative we ask a few simple questions about your home and usage habits. We then estimate a quote with help from Energyhelpline to try and get it as accurate as possible. Helpful online and phone conversations. Moving house and setting up new supply was easy.Payment adjustments easy to do. Kept informed and up to date about both gas and electricity usage.

Was told my estimated usage would mean a bill of £99 per month my bill have worked out on average 50% more. Not impressed.

Hey there. Thank you for leaving us a review. We appreciate your points on the price. At Bulb we only have one tariff, so you’re always on our cheapest rate. We call it our Vari-Fair tariff. This means the price we charge reflects the true cost of energy. It also means that we don’t tie you into a contract and we never charge exit fees. Best, Carl

Unfortunately we would be unable to provide free electric however if you use your referral link and bring friend/family member to Bulb you can get up to £50 credit to your account and so will they (£25 for an electric switch and £25 for gas switch) Best. I was transferring from another company and Bulb took care of the whole process. They kept me informed throughout that time which was great! The process of signing in was very easy and quick. I’d recommend this company to anyone

Well where do I start I live in a 3 bedroom bungalow 2 people at work My bill have lots of corrections despite having a smart meter in fir the last few years They billed me last year £300 a month which is impossible, now they bill me around 200 a month still impossible for use to use Direct debit as much as a mortgage.I think I'm paying to get legal advise on this its never right

Hi Tracy, Thanks for leaving us a review. I'm sorry that you've had some issues with your billing, but I'll be happy to look into this for you. Sometimes, if there is debt built up on a member's account, we do have to take a higher Direct Debit amount, in order to cover the monthly usage and also to reclaim some of this debt month-on-month.
