Finding my dream car was much easier with the help of CarFax information. The Service history and Ownership information for my Porsche Turbo was clearly identified in the CarFax report. I couldn't afford to make a mistake on the purchase of a hyper expensive vehicle. CarFax was key in helping me ID critical Service history information and I was able to buy the "right" car.

CARFAX saved me from making a terrible mistake. I found a car I liked, took it into my mechanic and it got a so/so review from him. I was about to buy it but remembered my friend's advice to run a CARFAX, so I pulled out my mobile phone and ran it on the spot. I then realized the mileage on the car was roughly 60,000 miles less than what CARFAX stated should be on the car. When I shared the information with the seller, he claimed he didn't know and acted upset that he had been ripped off from the previous seller. I don't know who cheated who, but I do know CARFAX saved me from being cheated!

I signed up for the unlimited carfax service with 5 free Vin searches in February 2015 looking for a car for my daughter. I used up 4 of the carfax searches online and found what I thought was a great car. Upon going to the dealer and looking at the car, which was in awful shape physically, I became disappointed. Then my daughter spotted a 2006 Hyundai Sonata and I used my last Vin search to check out the car. Lo and behold they had just purchased the car from an auction in MA and the car was very well kept and had only 1 owner and no accidents. We purchased the car March 14, 2015 and have had no issues with it since my purchase. Needless to say my daughter is a very happy camper and I recommend Carfax to everyone.

Bought a car fax report and when I went to get my 2011 Ram the Dealer presented me with the report. I don't feel like I wasted my money as the information was quite helpful and made me feel confident in my purchase.

We were looking for a car for the wife to drive to work. Reliable and safe were prime consideration. With the Car Fax we were able to verify that all the work the owner claimed was completed by a reputable repair shop. We did take the car to that shoip before the purchase and the owner was pleased that all of his repair information showed on the Car Fax. Super nice addition to the Car Fax service. Really pleased with the purchase.

I saw a 2012 Fiat 500c Gucci for sale at a dealership in Pallayup WA. I lived in Fullerton CA. I saw the pictures on line and it looked great. It only had about 7k miles on it. but the sales price was literally 1/2 price of a new one. New one sold at the local dealership for $33k and some change. I though to myself something must be wrong with the car. So I ran the car fax on it and found out it was perfect. I purchased the car without seeing it in person and had it shipped to my self. The car is awesome. I saved so much money that I was able to remodel my kitchen. Thank you Carfax for being their for me. David Mueller

I have used Carfax to purchase my last two used cars. As with most cars over five years old, they are sold at auction, when traded in, if they are not fast movers, or unique enough to earn a coveted spot on the car lot. I was looking for a premium van. I liked the Ford Freestar. My daughter bought a new limited edition for thirty-eight thousand. Five years later I found mine in a used car lot for $6000. It was not the limited edition, but an SEL, with high miles. It was clean, quiet, and seemed well maintained, but to be sure, I paid for a Carfax report. That report showed me that the original owner had it three years, the second owner, two years, who bought it from the original, and subsequently traded it in. It was serviced by Ford, had no incident reports, and I bought it. Other than normal maintenance, which I always log, and two recalls corrected by Ford, the van ran beautifully, was dependable, and when I sold it to another private owner, I gave him the log book and the carfax report, which eas the deciding factor in him buying my van, instead of one of three other vans he had looked at. When I was looking for a Miata to replace my motorcycle, I had a certain price in mind, and a condition that I deemed acceptable. I found one, and was seriously considering it enough to pay for a Carfax report. It did not disappoint, and I purchased the vehicle. I have had it three months now and I am very pleased with it. Carfax does the one thing that a mechanic or eager salesman can't do. Carfax gives you peace of mind.

I was planning on buying a Jeep Cherokee that looked like it was in amazing condition. well I did a CARFAX and found out that 1. it was a rental car in NEW YORK, mind you I live in California. 2. the guy told me there was only one previous owner and Carfax told me that it had at LEAST 8 previous owners. 3. The guy told me that he put in a new motor because that was supposed to bring the value UP when in fact CARFAX told me that the reason he had to get a new motor is because it was under water at some point. 4. The guy also told me that the sound I was hearing was from putting in new and more expensive tires when in fact Carfax told me that it was salvaged because of a car accident that damaged the axles and much more!! pretty much I almost bought a vehicle that was overpriced by DOUBLE and I almost put my two boys in a car that was very unsafe to drive. my family and I were going to be in great danger if we were to have bought this garbage vehicle. I owe my children's lives and my life to CARFAX. thanks to you I avoided buying something that would have been the biggest mistake of my life and could have possibly caused harm to my family. I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely Weeda

So I've never had a carfax account until recently. I was looking to buy this MDX that was beautiful, only had 120k on it, and it was a great deal. But my boyfriend insisted on us checking it out on carfax first. So I reluctantly spent the money and purchased a carfax. Boy am I glad I did!!!! That car had over 200k on it. Major odometer roll back! I confronted the seller about the mileage via text, but they decided to not respond. Carfax saved me a huge headache and a major disappointment. Needless to say, I will never buy another car without running a carfax first!!

Having the car history (number of owners, mileage, car repairs etc) was very essential in my decision to get my current car

I was eyeing on this Grand Caravan which was quite cheap for the year's model, made arrangement with the seller to go view the vehicle. Fortunately, one day before the viewing, I did a car fax search on the VIN and found out that the car was involved with an accident. That saved my time driving all the way down 40 miles just to view the car which was involved with an accident.

We needed to find a car for both my son and myself. I found two cars and both turned out to be bargains with low mileage. We've been very pleased with what Carfax was able to do for us. I looked at a lot of cars too and being able to pull reports was very reassuring. I was able to avoid cars that had been in reported accidents or that had sustained some structural damage or other major repairs. Thanks for providing a great service. My only complaint was having a limited number of lookups by VIN . Some cars at certain dealerships had no license plates on them, or they had dealer plates only.

I signed up for Carfax only after using another service first. As it turns out...the other company gave me some info on potential cars, yes...but not much in the way of service records. YOUR search provided me with info about a previously used service center, so I was able to talk to someone who'd already worked on and knew the car I was considering. VERY helpful indeed!

I was buying a used engine for my vintage Jag and I requested a vin # from the donor car as they were representing this engine as very low mileage.. I ran the vin on CARFAX and the info didn't match up, CARFAX gave the location & date of the salvage title, no way this was the engine they sold me, the vin # & the block # didn't match. Thanks CARFAX you saved me big time
