“Gave all the information I needed for peace of mind although some car information was missing but the main things about finance/stolen and accidents was covered and showed all MOT information which was good and seems a fair price compared to others”

“Site was easy to use and pricing was competitive for what was on offer. Unfortunately, the search I requested seemed to change to the higher priced option at point of payment so I wanted to go back. Somehow I ended up paying for the same search twice. A refund was quickly issued upon request, but I would have thought it should be easy enough to put something in place to prevent duplicating a search on the same car from the same e-mail address and payment source.”

Hi Geoff, thanks for using UKVehicle.com and reviewing us. We do have checks on duplicate payments within 10 minutes at the same price level (ie 2 x Silver or 2 x Gold) but the system assumed that you wanted to upgrade the check with your second purchase. We'll have another look at our algorithms and see if there's a better way to protect against this. Apologies for any inconvenience and thanks for using UKVehicle.com

“I should of paid a little more for a site running better algorithms. Got all the information I needed from the usual sources in 1 place. However, the vehicle in question had over the years several private plates. One of which had been transferred to another vehicle that was on HP, as the number plate was once on the vehicle I was interested in, the HP check reported that there was finance against. After some annalistic time spent it was clear that the HP was taken out after the plate had been transferred. A good algorithm would of cleared this for me. Other sites seem to manage this. My issue with buying the car now is that if I wish to sell it on, anyone taking this report will be put off the purchase unless they spend time arriving at the same conclusion I did. I was also disappointed that I didn't receive an email copy of the report, I could only read it on line, and had to copy and paste to print it out. Such simple solutions to improve the service, but I guess you get what you pay for.”

Hi Robert, thanks for taking the time to review us. We've taken a policy (as do the other car check sites) of showing all finance on previous plates - a plate change is unfortunately often used to hide previous finance or damage. The finance companies do not have a consistent way of recording finance (against VRM or VIN) so there is no algorithm that could automate this checking. We've taken the view that it's better to show our customers more information so that they can confirm whether or not the finance applies to their vehicle, rather than less and they potentially end up with a car that isn't rightfully theirs. “I was suprised to see how little info there was on my report. Nearly all the info was available foc on other websites. There is a lot of important info missing that I expected to get when I paid for it. I am totally dissatisfied and have asked for a refund”
