I sent my watch for a minor repair in mid January (acknowledged a couple of weeks later on 28 Jan by email), I finally received it back on 8 September. During this period of almost 8 months I was almost never contacted proactively and only received information when I requested it. This information was also frequently incorrect, the following is a summary of only some of the emails that I exchanged in this time. I was advised on 29 March that the watch was "going through final inspection so will be sent out this week". I then heard nothing so had to follow up a couple of weeks later to be told there was actually a delay. After chasing again on 5 May, I was told the part they were waiting for would arrive "imminently", before again hearing nothing until 23 May when I was advised of further delays. A month later on 21 June I chased again having heard nothing and was eventually assured that the watch would be sent the week commencing 24th July. Needless to say this date was also missed and the watch was finally sent on 18th August. The compensation I was given for this was a 25% discount on the cost of the delayed part only. When the watch was finally delivered on 8 September I had to pay $20 of import taxes to take delivery as presumably the paperwork was not correctly included to show that UK tax had been paid on the original purchase a number of years previously. All in all a really poor experience, and in my opinion the small discount offered comes nowhere near close to compensating me for both the amount of time I had to spend trying to find out what was going on and for going without my watch for close to 8 months.

I have been very disappointed with the dreadful service I have received from CW and its courier. I returned the watch to CW on 23 Aug (received on 24 Aug) via the pre-paid Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed Service envelope provided. By 4 Sep I had heard nothing; so I rang CW, only to find that the watch was still sitting on a Customer Service desk! I had been told nothing about the receipt of the (valuable) watch or of any progress with its repair. Unfortunately, the return service was even worse: On 8 Sep I paid the invoice for the repair and shipping, and on 11 Sep CW told me that the watch had been despatched for return “via DPD Expresspak NextDay”. On 11 Sep DPD told me that the delivery would be made on 12th. On 12 Sep DPD told me that the delivery was delayed and would now be on 14th. On 13 Sep DPD told me that the delivery would be on 13th (which it was). When delivered, both myself and my wife were at home, but no-one rang the doorbell; the (valuable) watch was just left in the unlocked porch. No signature! This is not the kind of service I have come to expect from CW! Not only does DPD’s “NextDay” service not arrive on time; they don’t even know which day it’s going to arrive! If I can use the Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed Service for a reliable next day delivery when sending the watch to you, why can’t my watch be returned in the same way? This service fell well short of my expectations and, presumably, Christopher Ward’s own.

Back in June I made the effort to go to the boutique in Maidenhead. We were met by Declan who was very nice. I ordered a Day Date COSC C60. While I was there he sized my wrist and said he would take a link out of mine before it is sent. He also said he would e-mail before it was sent out as I may have it delivered to work depending on my shifts. All good. A couple of weeks later I e-mailed customer services with a trivial question about the dial, no response. So I e-mailed Declan, no response, despite starting the e-mail with “I have e-mailed Customer Services but I have had no response”. One would have thought that would have encouraged him to respond… Towards the end of July I was getting concerned that I had not heard from you so I checked the e-mail confirmation. It did not mention a date but it did have my address down as Gateshead. I live in Kent. We told Declan that we lived in Kent. I e-mailed Customer Services, got an out of office, on a group e-mail address….. I didn’t worry too much as Declan said he would contact me before he sent it. That turned out to be misplaced faith…. Two days later I get an e-mail saying my watch had been posted, to Gateshead. Within minutes I e-mailed back, twice, no response, so I called, no answer. I didn’t get a call from them the next day neither, despite the two e-mails I sent. On the Monday I called CW as I had tracked the parcel back to their door. I spoke to Scott, he apologised and said he would find out what went wrong. He never got back to me neither. The watch arrived, a lovely thing, but it didn’t fit so I had to remove a link myself as they had not done it as they said they would. That sort of made a mockery of me making the effort to visit the boutique in the first place. So, one mistake is forgivable, but I had at least seven instances of poor service, for one watch purchase, not good. It seems the company is riddled with apathy and incompetence.

Christopher Ward managed to get my delivery spectacularly wrong TWICE. The nightmare started when they lost my order, even though I had a confirmation. They could see the order but didn't know what I ordered. My first delivery ended-up in Bolton. Guess what? I got the wrong watch, with an invoice for some poor chap in Bolton. My second delivery was also delivered to the wrong address, but I managed to get the watch, finally. Now, it's not just the shear incompetence that bothers me, it's the lack of contact from the customer service team. I wrote to them maybe a dozen times, and they wrote back to me twice - both times they promised to look into the problem. Not resolve the problem, but look into it. I got a call from Scott Callaway after the first delivery went missing - I bet he's a busy guy, apologising all the time. Unfortunately, he didn't fill me with confidence and, in fact, he didn't do what he promised, i.e. send me the watch. So, I won't be shopping at Christopher Ward ever again. I'll simply shop where I feel like a valued customer.

Everything went wrong. I ordered a watch on 10th July - it's now 28th July and I've still not got it. Worse still, is that there has been very little communication from Customer Services. I did get a watch, but it's not mine. Honestly, I've never known a worse experience.

You asked for a review so... it took FOUR months for the company to do a repair under warranty! Not only did it take this totally unacceptable amount of time but at no point was any information forthcoming. I had to chase. How you have had the gall to ask for a review is beyond me...

I have nothing to review except the time I have spent waiting and emailing customer service. I don't know why you are sending me a request to review product. I understand you are busy with the sale but product was ordered 12 days ago, was despatched 6 days ago, and as of right now is currently un-trackable (It doesn't even show up as received into the royal mail network). The expected date of delivery on the despatch notice says Jul 18 - Jul 24. It is now Jul 19 and I am strongly doubtful I will receive this by months end. I'm not sure if blame lies with C ward or Royal Mail but I am rating the whole experience and it took far too long to get the order fulfilled in the first place.

Hi bought my second Christopher Ward watch a C9 grand malvern very very pleased with the watch, but customer service woeful, asked for a discount as they give a discount if you travel to London, told under no circumstances would I get a discount felt insulted as I already own a C9 Moonphase watch(fabulous) started to research other companies 1 wk later a discount voucher dropped on my hall floor, so I used it ,put it down to poor staff training. An email arrived saying that the watch was being dispatched, contacted cust service to ask about watch sizes and was told that they only had one size and were awaiting del. Are Christopher Ward happy with this treatment on a £1500 watch ,I'm not!

I ordered my watch on the 2nd of Jan which had said 2-3 days delivery. It also said it may take twice as long if there is a sale. 1 week passed and no contact had been made so I called to find it was still going to take a week as they are busy. I emailed them for a date and told it would be with me early next week. On Tuesday the 17th I emailed again to see when it was arriving and told it would be there tomorrow. Then on the Wednesday I contact the courrier who say it will not be with me and I need to contact chr to get them to contact them. Still I have not recieved my watch the customer service is poor and I will never use them again.

I Ordered a C60 Trident Titanium 2 on the morning of 27/7, needed the watch before 2/8 as I would be away and I needed a good quality divers watch. I had no option within the order process to upgrade the shipping so I had to trust that they would get the watch to me on time. I had not got any response at all so I phoned on late afternoon on 28/7 to find out if they would be able to get the watch to me. I advised I would cancel the order then if they couldn't, I was advised that the watch would be sent on 29/7 and that it would be delivered on 1/8, I was happy with this so left the order in place. I had not got any messages from them so I phoned 1/8 to check if the watch was to be delivered today, I was advised that it had not been sent and would be posted today, need less to say I have now cancelled the order and I will be going away with out the watch that I needed! I am not happy at all that Christopher Ward did not do as they said they would, this is the worst possible let down in customer service. I appreciate that they are busy when they have sales on but it is vital that you don't make promises and not keep them.
