Ordered and paid for in October delivered in September, Only when i started to ask for my money back did anything happen and then then it still took months

We are disappointed to hear that we have fallen below our usual high standards. We would like an opportunity to discuss this with you further, to understand if there is anything that we can do to change that and improve in the future

I have ordered 3 used containers from this company and we have received them and everything was great . Load them with stock up to a celling . After 3 months we had to move some stock around and we have found some wet boxes and saw water dripping from very old patch on the celling. We took a picture and contacted cleveland containers ( Andrew and manager Richard ) and I have been told that it is past 3 months ( exactly 3 months and 8 days and that they can not see the hole on the picture! Why would I contact you if there would be no hole?!?! Basically they have offered someone to come over and inspect but they would charge £200-£300 for the visit . This product is made of stainless steel and guaranteed to be delivered watertight and waterproof ... this company does not check their containers and during the hottest summer in UK for many years we were unable to check if there are holes or no as there was no much rain and when the container is filled with stock up to a celling you can not see if the water is coming through. from the conversation It seems they know exactly that there is a hole but just because 3 months has passed they absolutely don't care and make all excuses in the world simply not to help. AVOID them at any cost .

Hi Marcin, As per your conversation with Richard, we are willing to look at what we could even though it is outside of our 3-month period as a hole in a container at this point would not be in line with our usual high standards. We do need to see the hole first as this is the only way we would know who to send to fix the issue, so if you could please send the photos as agreed via email, we will review and contact you to discuss the next steps. Great sales process but that’s where it all went wrong! Gave specific delivery instructions due to the nature of site access, took time to produce maps for them and explained before purchase and upon payment about delivery information only for this not to be passed to there haulage company. 1st delivery unable to get to site due to size of vehicle. 2nd delivery, driver arrived with his arm in a sling again in a vehicle too big too access delivery site. On BOTH occasions Cleveland containers billed us for the failed delivery and redelivery! In the end the containers were dropped 1 mile away and taken by 4x4 and trailer to there destination. At no point were Cleveland containers interested in helping with this situation. A local firm completed the lift with professionalism.

We were really disappointed by the level of service. The deadline was missed on a few occasions, we weren't kept informed of the progress and had to chase for updates and when we did, emails weren't responded to and ignored.

Very disappointed, driver put it on a slope and now the doors jam and have to be released with a hammer. The floor is patched with ply board poorly and there is duct tape patching the roof.

The condition of our used units can vary as they tend to be between 10-15 years old and have spent a lifetime being shipped internationally. We guarantee our used containers as watertight, so if there is a hole in the roof, this is something we are happy to resolve. Your sales manager Paul has got in touch with you to help discuss the issues you mentioned and how best we can fix these for you. Regarding the delivery of your container, the transport team attempted to contact you on the day to discuss the issues related to its placement. As they couldn’t get through, the haulier had no option but to lift it off where possible, as they cannot drive over grass or enter areas where there are obstructions such as overhanging trees. I'm so very disappointed in the container that was delivered. I understood it to be a single trip, watertight high container. It is not. It is bashed and battered, leaky doored with rusty hinges with welded patches all over it. I asked for details of the support positioning - wrong! I asked if possible to have either a brown or green - it is blue. I was advised it would arrive in the morning so I arranged helpers - it arrived at 15.30hrs. That the driver was good, polite and skilful was the only good thing of the transaction. I bought a single trip watertight container from one of your competitors 15 years ago. It is still in perfect condition. I won't deal with you again!

Hi Nik, We are sorry that your container arrived later than advised. We work with third party hauliers to transport our containers across the country and although we are provided with an AM/PM delivery slot by them the day before, some issues can often arise that we cannot control. Regarding the container, we can see that you originally enquired about and then subsequently ordered a used container, which is not a single trip. ‘One Trip’ containers are new units that have been built, filled with goods, and travelled on one journey to its destination country. The condition of our used units can vary as they are usually 10-15 years old and have spent a lifetime being shipped internationally. These containers are still structurally sound however due to their age and previous use these containers will show signs of wear and tear, some more significantly than others. Container was much later than expected. Delivery arrived the day before the arranged date, luckily I was in. Had phone calls the day after it was delivered to try to organise the delivery...

I don't think you could have sent a more battered container. The doors would not open they were ceased and needed lubricating. Once we had opened them they would not close again. Inside is not much better. We are extremely disappointed with the container and we will need to spend numerous hours trying to release and close the doors.

After investigating what went wrong with your order, we discovered that the depot responsible for the release of your containers unfortunately sent an incorrect unit to you. Ordered a used 20ft container moderated damaged…think it had been at bottom of sea for 10 years it was high damage really wouldn’t used Cleveland container again…we did get it sorted in the end

The condition of our used units can vary as they are usually 10-15 years old and have spent a lifetime being shipped internationally. These containers are still structurally sound and weatherproof, however due to their age and previous use these containers will show signs of wear and tear, some more significantly than others. The container in question had spent 20 hours in our workshop prior to being delivered, with our team of technicians repairing any damage and confirming it acceptable to be sold and used as a second-hand wind and watertight container. Unfortunately, on this occasion, it did not meet your standards and for this we are sorry. When you addressed your concerns about the condition of your used container to us, we agreed that it would be replaced with a new (one trip) unit, with yourself paying the remaining balance and Cleveland Containers delivering the container free of charge as a token of apology. Our sales and transport team worked hard to rectify this as quickly as possible to ensure your new container was delivered promptly and without any trouble. Really disappointed with the service provided. Very poor communication, the first sales manager wouldn’t reply to messages/emails for a few weeks. I then got transferred to another sales manager who’s communication was a lot better but only until the point where we had confirmed our order. After the point of paying for our order , we had to constantly chase for updates and then after three weeks of chasing i was told the double side opener had been sold a day before we had made our payment - how this information did not get to me for three whole weeks is beyond me! This meant having to change all of our project plans and there was no empathy and willingness to show any compensation at all. For a community interest organization, this has been a very stressful experience. My initial contact via chat point your website advised containers could be shipped within 3-5 days if in stock - this was very inaccurate! To be honest it has been a shocking service and not expected from a company of your size. I would have gone elsewhere if you didn’t have the tri doors that we needed. Your social media accounts are wonderfully managed and the people answering the chat have always been very friendly - i just wish your customer service from sales managers was the same - i very much feel like i was treated as an order rather than a customer - i hope this can improve in the future.

You were originally in communication with a sales manager who is no longer with us, who provided you with incorrect information and lead times. When you raised your concerns with the social media team, we promptly reassigned your enquiry to a new sales manager who then tried his best to help and manage expectations. It is difficult to guarantee stock because our containers are sold so quickly. Due to a miscommunication, we couldn’t provide you with the container you desired and for this we are very sorry. Although we can’t make up for this error, we did honour a previous, reduced rate of the side opener you purchased from us and are currently refunding the difference. FLAT PACK CONTAINER WAS NOT DELIVERED ON THE APPROPRIATE VEHICLE AS AGREED AT TIME OF ORDER, AS A RESULT IT WAS LEFT ON MY DRIVEWAY 70 METERS AWAY FROM DESIGNATED SITE. VERY DIFFICULT TO MOVE BY HAND SO STILL ON DRIVEWAY. THE CONTAINER HAS A MDF WOODEN FLOOR, I DID NOT SEE ANY INFO ABOUT WOODEN FLOOR, NORMAL SHIPPING CONTAINERS HAVE METAL FLOOORS. THE WOOOD WILL ROT AND I DOUBT IT WILL TAKE MUCH RENT

As stated on the webpage for our flatpack containers, these units come with OSB wooden floors as standard: https://www.clevelandcontainers.co.uk/specialised-containers/flat-pack-container This is also displayed on the PDF quotes we send out to our customers, which you would have received. All standard steel containers are supplied with plywood flooring as well. Regarding the delivery, we apologise for making this mistake and transporting the container on a truck that couldn’t reach your desired location. Please note that these incidents are rare, and we are disappointed that this error occurred. We’re sorry that your experience has ended with you leaving us a negative review. I have purchased 14 containers over the past 2 years and these two from Cleveland were by far the worst,I expect some scratches down the sides but they were excessive, one was really bad with a large repair to one side and damage to the rubber seal in two places,I had to use nearly a full tin of the Ral green paint to cover all the damage.overall not happy.

Hi Tim, Apologies for any inconvenience caused, however, we as a business need to ensure the people or businesses hiring our containers are not a risk to us in terms of their credit score which any business would look into when hiring or leasing their products. As there were multiple orders placed in quick succession with no trading history, it was established there was a potential risk. Once a trading history is built, we would be happy to provide more containers. Before requesting more units from us, you made us aware that you were very happy with the containers which is why you wanted to hire some more from us so we are disappointed to receive this review which we do not believe is a true reflection of our service. ORDERED ON THE 4TH SEPTEMBER 2020 AND PAID IN FULL IN ADVANCE. 1NR 10FT STORE & 1NR 50:50 SPLIT CONTAINER. WAS SHOWN A PHOTO OF THE 50:50 UNIT, WEEKS WENT BY AND THEN GOT TOLD THE PHOTOS WERE FOR A MORE EXPENSIVE UNIT AND THEY DONT HAVE ANY 50:50 SPLIT CONTAINERS ANYMORE. CHENGED ORDER TO 2NR CABINS, MONTHS WENT BY, CHASED WEEKLY. FINALY RECIEVED BOTH STORES WC 11TH JAN. SO NOT GREAT. ...... WE CAN BUILD HOUSES ON SITE QUICKER THAN YOU CAN PAINT A CONTAINER AND GET IT OUT ON SITE!!
