Poor customer service. Pleased an order on the 22nd September delivery on the 23rd October placed an order for 4 items only received 2 but on the invoice showed 4 delivered called 7 times keep saying they have dispatched but has never arrived. Very poor service.

Disgusted to find a man from this charity knocking on my door asking for money in the middle of the pandemic. He also didn't leave my property when asked to do so, choosing to stand in my doorway filling out paperwork instead to stop me from using my own front door. I guess he was trying to teach me a lesson for not giving him money.

Really disappointed in Dogs trust Canterbury and have over the weeks spoke to numerous people who have nothing but bad reviews and opinions of them too. Tried to rehome 3 separate dogs and still told we were not suitable. The latest dog 'Dougal' is still waiting for a new home. We are a family without young children, have a large secure garden, have experience of larger breeds, and dogs with special needs. The house is rarely empty as my wife works from home and we are lucky to have a large home is a quiet area. What more can a new loving owner offer. Seem to be incouraging breeder purchases. Really MUST do better Canterbury

It’s a shame that dogs trust promote that they are there for the well-being of the dog. Communication with these guys is really, really poor. Was interested in a dog they had for 2 years and it had been returned to them. They arranged a meeting and I was working on the day they proposed and were not willing to hold the dog for one week. They don’t have a clue what they are doing. Contacted me about another dog and I said I am interested and still not heard back from them and the dog is still on their website. Shame on you dogs trust.

Please don't take home a dog on the Shared Adoption Scheme. They don't pay the (pre-agreed) vet fees, and have shared my personal contact information with my ex partner without my consent.

My partner and I went into Dogs Trust Evesham this afternoon as we'd like to rehome a dog. Immediately upon arrival, after filling out a form about our situation, we were told that we'd not be suitable for a dog unless we wanted to get a dog sitter to be with our dog for an hour in the middle of the day while we were at work which we were open to and thought was a really good idea. After this, we went to look at some dogs that they had in the kennels and found a couple that we thought would be suitable for us. We told the reception and the short-haired woman we had previously spoken to came and sat down and had a chat with us. She explained that she didn't believe these dogs were suitable for us at all - which was fair enough as that was her opinion - but the way she said it was in the rudest and condescending manner I've ever experienced. When telling us more detail about the dogs we were interested in she continued to slate us and say that they would be challenging (even though their 'signals' were green and amber) which we were more than up for but because of our age (19 and 21) she immediately stereotyped us and didn't believe we could do it and kept suggesting that we should get a golden retriever as it's an easy dog that we 'would not be able to find at Dogs Trust'. I felt disgusted that she stereotyped us because of our ages when we actually own our own home and would be excellent dog parents. She was a horrific woman and is not a good reflection on Dogs Trust and their values. Everyone else we came into contact with on our visit today was absolutely wonderful and amazingly friendly but this lady was vile. She's left a bitter taste in our mouths and we will never be returning to Dogs Trust Evesham again and will be going to Kenilworth to find our new family member.

Had been looking for a dog for a while and not found a suitable match for us the Staff at the Dogs Trust in Harefield have been so wonderful and helpful, thank you all so much. Now with their help we have found the dog for us and will be bringing him home next week. They have been caring towards the dogs and owners. Don’t rush into choosing a dog as the right one will come along so it’s worth waiting. It is very upsetting seeing people running down such a wonderful organisation.

I am a volunteer at cardiff dogs home & I was absolutely disgusted to have someone from Dogs Trust knock my door telling me that cardiff dogs home are closing down & the dogs will be destroyed! Dogs Trust know fully well that this is absolutely not the case. You should be shamed of yourselves!

Do not give your dog for rehoming at dogs trust hairfield.have a very big think before you do.dogs are in kennels and deppresd and smell of urine.they are not treated good.when the dogs are in the glass boxes thets the selling point for customers. i have worked there before and left after a month.could not handle how sad it was for them dogs.its a money making scheme..and very slow staff.

Abysmal charity that are more concerned with making themselves money than rehoming dogs. Over 16 staff paid more than £60k a year. Revenue is over £130million a year. Earning more than the RSPCA. Many of the dogs are kept too long without effort to rehome them to responsible dog owners. Thus loss of full human contact results in desensitisation for the dogs. This in turn makes them more difficult to rehome without incident. Go to smaller independent Centres like East Midlands Dog Rescue. A proper rehoming centre that need your support. Be smart and don’t donate to Dogs Trust, find a centre in your area and support them instead and not a For Profit Charity.

Information on rehoming on the website is different from that being given by the call centre which resulted in me making two trips to the Bridgend centre, spending £30 on fuel and ending up with no dog. Was informed that they could not keep the dog for a week but the website says process takes 8 days! They seem to change the process to suit themselves. Got the impression it is all about the money rather than the welfare of the dogs in their care. They are clearly a very wealthy organisation if the fleet of vans in the car park is anything to go by.

Most of the staff were unhelpful, patronising and rude. We were looking to rehome a dog after losing our 15 year old collie/husky cross. He was a rescue also and despite any issues he came to us with he became a lovely family dog who had a great life. Dogs trust staff found reasons why any dog we were interested in was unsuitable, saying one particular dog could never in his lifetime be let off its lead even in our own secure garden, as our gate was only 4ft high. This charity is not doing itself any favours as we left and have bought a new puppy instead.

I have visited the Salisbury branch four times the staff just aren’t interested in showing any dogs even though I had been told by the call centre they had been contacted and would show me them. I have had dogs in my life as a child and responsible owner for 60+ years and for the past 35 of them they have been rescue dogs. I am a widow and after losing my elderly dog just before Christmas I am now looking for a new dog to keep me company. But after going home in tears because of their attitude I have given up hope

The website says 'come and meet me'. How can you meet a dog through a glass screen? The Leeds branch shows about 45 available dogs; only about a third of those were on display and several of those were posted as being reserved. I had a list of 6 dogs I was interested in seeing but none were on display and could not be seen. I spent about 2 hours at the site and was interviewed by the single staff member carrying out interviews (there must have been a dozen staff on the site). All the dogs we wanted to see were described by the interviewer as unsuitable for a variety of reasons; one disliked men, another was destructive, another was aggressive to other dogs. None of these undesirable traits were mentioned on the dogs details on their website. However, the interviewer did then try to interest us in some dogs that were on display behind the glass screens. I came away with the clear impression that the staff were only interested in 'selling' the dogs that were on display on the day and not providing the potential adopter with the opportunity to see the dogs they were interested in. Most unsatisfactory visit and I travelled 60 miles to view the dogs.

A total waste of time, only tried them because my local RSPCA had nothing suitable at the time. Unable to get any sense over the phone, had to travel for a full hour (each way) to my nearest centre only to be given plenty of negatives about their dogs undertaken by someone who obviously wanted to be elsewhere at the time. Left them somewhat scratching our heads.

Compete waste of time! To be honest our visit was a little fruitless, it looks like they are clawing all-lot of money with the new fancy building at Evesham. Personally upon our visit most dogs were out walking. The centre is only open to the public 4 hours a day and staff decide to walk or clean the kennels out most of the dogs at the same time. So your unable to see them. And when you ask what the rehoming process is it’s covered with red tape before you even get started they tell you that you have to be there at the crack of dawn to get the right dog. I won’t be rescuing a dog from here!

Well, what went right.? Amused at your invitation to Dogs Trust to give a viewpoint, to answer it's critics. The charity always has to control the agenda. If this is not possible it says nothing silence being the default position. If you explain you lose. Dogs Trust never loses.

We are long term Staffie owners and recently lost our beloved Hagar, Considering a rescue we looked on Dogs Trust Web site, They had a dog we thought suitable, rang the phone number, this was a call center not the rescue center, They had no additional info to that on the Web Site, said they would enquire as to if the dog was avaliable, I asked them to ring me back when they had some info or give me the rescue center phone number, they refused to do either and told me I would have to visit the rescue center and fill in a form. This involved a 200 + mile round trip, They could only tell me there had been two other people shown interest in the dog and I could not fill in the form via the Interweb. Theis ridiculous beaurocracy is clearly off putting to any prospective adopter THEY HAVE 100 STAFFIES ON THEIR LISTING yet are not prepared go in any small way to accommodate an experienced Staffie owner to adopt a needy dog..

I was told outright that the dogs I viewed online was not suitable for me. The only dogs I was allowed to view was behind glass, no real interaction, no offer was made for me to meet any of them or the ones hidden from sight. They have an impossibly idealistic idea of what is required to adopt one of their dogs. In the time I was there they rejected 3 out of 4 applications, myself included. They were very nice about it and said they would get in touch when they had a suitable dog for me. Months on and no phone call, apparently they have no dogs at all that need a safe, warm and loving home. They make adopting impossible. So they say they want to re-home dogs but has anyone ever passed their tick list. The TV ad is not realistic in any way. So, where do they get the money to have dogs on hold in their care, some of them for years????
