Don't Use!!! They charge you 200€ extra if you are like 15 minutes late because of a delayed flight. Why charge extra if customers rental perioid is shorter than what is paid for!? And that cheating happens during a normal weekday.

Booking not honoured – refund unfairly delayed I booked a car through DoYouSpain, but the rental could not be collected because out-of-hours pickup was not arranged. We waited at the pickup point for over an hour late at night, in the rain, and no one arrived or answered calls. ClickRent confirmed they had no contact details for me from DoYouSpain. As a result, the booking was wrongly marked as a “no-show”. I provided DoYouSpain with: Call logs Taxi receipts Proof of replacement booking Despite this, months later (ongoing since October 2025) they are still refusing to refund me, claiming they must “wait for the rental company to accept liability”. This is not fair — my contract is with DoYouSpain, not their supplier. The service failure is clear, the evidence is clear, and the delay is unacceptable. I would strongly advise others to be cautious, especially for late-night or out-of-hours pickups.

Misleading information and unfair refund policy I booked a car through DoYouSpain.com and paid 120 €. I cancelled the booking within 20 minutes after payment, immediately after discovering that a Ukrainian driving licence (written in Cyrillic) is not accepted without an International Driving Permit. This requirement was not clearly disclosed before payment. If it had been, I would never have made the booking. Despite cancelling almost immediately and no service being provided, I received only 31.35 € as a refund. The rest of the amount was kept. The company hides behind strict cancellation policies instead of clearly informing customers of essential eligibility requirements before payment. I would strongly recommend double-checking all licence conditions and being very cautious when booking through DoYouSpain.com.

Don't use this site to book a car or scooter hire. I booked for pick up near my hotel & they confirmed from the airport & took my money. When i asked to amend to what i booked (& luckily i have proof of my original booking) they told me I had to pay to change pick up location! I never received the scooter & haven't received a refund yet. I will submit a complaint to the Ombudsman & see what they can do & my messages to Claire Davis at Do You Spain got me nowhere Edit Delete

100% Scammers. Do not use under any circumstances. I was quoted 37 euro by this agent for taxes etc over and above the car hire. When I got there the car company Gold Car charged me another 37 euros and said take the car or leave it and we won’t be paying your hire charges back. They then said take it up with DoYouSpain, which i did, they have ignored correspondence.

Complete scam. They quote you a price and when you arrive at the rental counter thete is a surcharge of 26 euros. If this was disclosed upfront you would have gone elsewhere. Completely unresponsive to cystomer complaints. GOLDCAR charged me 26€ on top of the price I was quoted by Doyouspain.

When we arrived at Alicante airport as planned, the rental agency had closed the counter and gone home, apparently due to rain. All the other rental agencies at the airport were still open. Doyouspain did not answer the phone and we were therefore forced to rent a car from one of the other rental agencies at the airport, which cost us over 443 euro for a single day. 12 hours later we were able to pick up our pre-ordered car and return the extra rented car. Doyouspain will not refund our extra expense, in fact they hung up on me when I called them and my subsequent emails have been ignored, suddenly no one at doyouspain speaks or writes English anymore. The company has a tarnished morale and craps on their customers. You can use the doyouspain website to find a car, but book the car directly on the rental agency's website afterwards.

Would not recommend. Like booking on shifting sand. Hidden insurance costs and various other costs. Would have been cheaper to go with more expensive brand. Car hire: €60 But then hidden costs: Excess insurance: €25 2nd lot of excess insurance: €25 Late charge: €40 Travelled to Girona, the actual company used was Drivalia. I booked online via GoToSpain, which is more like a dealer for the actual hire company. Issues: The excess wasn’t made clear upon booking - it was $1250. Doyouspain suddenly highlight this a week before collect whilst offering excess insurance. So duly purchased. Then it turns out on arrival at Drivalia the company take the money but only via a credit card. This is listed but not made clear they can’t do on any other card. Couldn’t get through to Doyouspain to cancel my insurance, surprisingly. So had to purchase car insurance from the actual hire company - Drivalia. Drivalia also charged for arriving outside of office hours at 9.30pm. I clearly stated this on my insurance and no mention was made of it being out of hours. So that was another €40. The lady on the desk said she had stayed as she didn’t want me left without a car… Hold on, why when I arrived at the stated time would they have closed and left me without a booking? The whole thing left me with an oily feeling. Especially as a female travelling solo. The lady also said she had upgraded me to a VW. But I booked a VW so was curious why she was upgrading me. She said I booked a VW or similar and they normally give a lesser car.. wow. Kind of made me laugh the whole thing, what a system!

★☆☆☆☆ Nooit meer! Zeer teleurstellende ervaring met DoYouSpain en Goldcar. Wij betaalden onze huurauto vooraf met American Express, maar bij aankomst bleek dat Goldcar dit niet accepteert. Geen begrip of oplossing, terwijl we reisden met mijn 86-jarige schoonmoeder. Uiteindelijk moesten we ter plekke een nieuwe auto huren tegen een tarief tien keer zo hoog en 2,5 uur wachten. Zeer misleidend dat DoYouSpain wél American Express accepteert, maar de verhuurder weigert. Echt onaanvaardbaar – wij verwachten volledige terugbetaling van de oorspronkelijke boeking.

Avoid this scam company. They will take your money, not provide the 7 seater car you hired as none were available, leave you stranded at the airport and then refuse to refund you. Taking them to court. Awful service.

I Booked a vehicle and paid in advance. My flight time changed and then we were delayed on the day. I now know as it's in the small print that they only wait 4 hours and then cancel your vehicle. After arriving and queueing for another hour to collect the car, I was told that I couldn't have it. I tried to call Doyouspain who were closed at 9.40pm on a Saturday so had no other choice than to book a new car and pay twice. Doyouspain are offering no refund or gesture of good will, I have used them in the past so not a first time customer, they will book the same car out no doubt and double their money at my expense. Beware of using a broker, they are not flexible and they are not open when you need them. Go straight to the operators and pay that little extra for peace of mind.

AVOID GOLDCAR Alicante - SCAM TACTICS Charged €136 penalty due to THEIR unclear instructions and negligence! Out-of-hours return: Tried to return car to Level 3 as instructed - area inaccessible/unclear. Left car safely on Level 4, photographed everything, emailed 5 photos immediately using email address provided by their Madrid support. Their Alicante office: Phone answered once then hung up (after "Hola") 4 more calls = only music playing Emails completely ignored No assistance when desperately needed 3 DAYS LATER: Received email from DIFFERENT email address claiming car "not returned" and charged €270 penalty! After my detailed reply with photo evidence: They quietly refunded €134 (probably realized car WAS returned on time) but kept €136 claiming "wrong parking level." The real problem: Unclear return instructions (deliberate?) Zero customer support when you need help They ignore communications then claim YOU didn't return car Only care about taking reservations, not solving problems. This is a SCAM operation! Use literally ANY other rental company. Evidence: I have all photos, emails, and call records documenting their negligence.

I warn everybody to not book here: We rented a car with them with Goldcar for +/- 300 euros. By the time we arrived there at Goldcar in Barcelona, they charged us 220 euros extra for so called “taxes”, which were only visible in the conditions when you do some calculations that aren’t clear. Even Goldcar stated that DoYouSpain doesn’t give clear information. In the booking was stated that a day abroad with the car would cost 12 euros per day, which we also asked for with Goldcar and which they confirmed (but didn’t put in our booking because they couldn’t sell us an insurance). They charged us for that 1 day an amount of 195 euros. Checked with the lawyer, and their contract and conditions are against Spanish consumer law, when you call them stating this, they only laugh at it, thinking you won’t escalate this. I’m saying this once again, DoYouSpain, even if you scammed me for 10 euros, I wouldn’t leave it with this. To be continued in court.
