“This was our fifth tour with Eagle-Eye, and we are already considiernig a sixth! We like smaller groups and staying at the kind of lodging that has something special to offer. We especially enjoy eating breakfast and dinner at the lodge or hotel where we stay, and staying for three nights at each of three locations was just right. We recommend arriving a day early, and staying on a day at the end. The hotels chosen for the beginning and end of the tour were well worth a second night's stay, and Eagle-Eye arranged that for us.”

“Hotel Bougainvillea had great accommodations, food and beautiful grounds. Punta Leone is a great location for outings to Carara National Park. The hotel Rinconcito Verde is in a beautiful setting although I don’t recommend drinking the water there, I had an issue afterwards. I would recommend having a cooler stocked with water for that stay. I enjoyed our stay at Arenal Lodge the view was breathtaking.”

“The tour leaders were simply amazing. Office staff were sometimes a tiny bit slow to respond to emails and did not respond to all questions, but in general were very good. The app itinerary was (according to the tour leaders) somewhat inaccurate and they were apparently not consulted about it. The app was a bit glitchy: I had to reboot my fairly new iPhone several times to get the chat messages.”

“The itinerary of birding locations in South Texas was outstanding. I’m very impressed with the number and quality of parks we visited. Some of these preserves would do well to develop ecolodges for future birders and naturalists, saving on transportation costs to hotels and restaurants. The local guides were great at getting us to the birds and finding them for us, and even when the language barrier popped up, they still got their message across. “My only suggestion would be for those out of country give greater time notice to allow for checks to arrive within the requested timeframe to avoid penalty.
Also, it would be very helpful to have detailed maps of the areas we’re visiting, showing proposed stops. It helps orient the out of towners 😊”
