“This tour is not for everybody because the environment is very challenging to begin with. Our drivers had to negotiate water on top of the ice in a number of places, & leads that opened up in the ice as we traveled. Fortunately the wind, snow, & ice on our tour was the best it's been in years, so nobody suffered. Also, camping out on the watery ice & slush presented slippery conditions for falling, but nobody got hurt & the Inuit guides helped us around very considerately & repaired our tent stakes. Taking a latrine with us everywhere we traveled on the ice was hard to do, but they managed to accomplish it. Fortunately nobody got sick in the cold temperatures. We had plenty of healthy food to eat & drink. I was impressed that the tour ar for me to eat lactose free meals on all 4 First Air flights. Wildlife spotting was flawless, & the guides managed to even chase down some polar bears. Adam was very helpful & knowledgeable, & he made a fine effort to find us lemmings when we requested to see one. The tour was the right length of days, too.”
“The tour delivered in every way. The guides worked great as a team and were patient and helpful throughout the tour. Our other tour companions were great fun and made the trip extra special. All accommodations were first-rate and the people of Costa Rica were friendly and welcoming. It was a wonderful trip!”
“The itinerary was good for the trip though I'd suggest reversing the order. The Big Island was challenging physically but also more rewarding in the endemics we were lucky to see. The accommodations ranged from excellent (Oahu - Kiamana Beach Hotel - beautiful beach, very nice common areas and restaurant as well as near to park and shopping/dining) to average (Big Island - Holiday Inn Express - rooms were fine but pool and common area were cramped, only crowded, small beaches nearby). Our guides, Chris and Jakob were top-notch: very knowledgeable, caring, fun to be with and intent on maximizing our viewings of species, especially endemics.”
“I joined this tour last minute, and Sheryl at Adventure Canada went out of her way to get me on the trip - the last airline sea had just been given back to Air North :( But it worked, my additional day in Pond Inlet turned out to be an additional night in Iqaluit, but we all arrived in Pond Inlet on the same day so that went well. People were great, the itinerary was great, and the trip greatly exceeded my expectations. So glad we saw Narwhals for a brief time one day, but Bowheads abounded each day and they were magificent, along with some excellent views of polar bears. My only concern about this trip is that it will be more popular each year, and disposal of human waste is a major concern. Can't keep dumping it in the sea! Also permits to kill 65 polar bears each season, but I know that's out of your hands. Thanks to Cam for letting me know about the Narwhal hunting ahead of time too. I have recommended this trip to several of my friends ..... hope you get to meet them!”
“The company was great. Two strengths stand out. The guides and the pre-tour support information. Only area for improvement would be notifying participants once the group minimum has been reached to ensure the trip goes foreward.”
“SOUTHEAST ARIZONA 2023: American rarities, lots of hummingbirds, mammals and herpetology too! Very knowledgeable guide, proven route, and a great overall experience. Great supportive company too!”
“This was my first birding trip. I felt that I saw and learned a great deal more than if had I gone on my own. We were 3 generations in one family. The guide had an intuitive ability to respond at different levels and to find accommodations for our various dietary needs. All this, while introducing us the amazing world of birds! I would do it again.”
“I was so excited to have found an organized tour to see the narwhals in May. It would be my first trip with Eagle-Eye Tours, and the staff was great to answer all of my questions and concerns. I couldn't believe how great the experience was - incredibly thorough, organized in the specific details, clear communications, and most of all patient with me. In addition to planning the trip, they helped with insurance and hotel recommendations. Unfortunately, this year's trip was cancelled due to the virus. However I was super impressed with their options for handling the situation (way better than other more prestigious travel companies). I hope that I will be able to travel in 2022 and join this amazing trip.”
“This was a private tour. Our participation was solicited by the tour leader with whom we had traveled in the past. Our group consisted of 8 travelers, our leader, and our Inuit hosts. We participated primarily for the opportunity to see harwhals. We had many terrific sightings of narwhals, some in very close proximity. We also had wonderful close encounters with polar bears. Unusual sightings included a Stellar's eider and an Ivory gull (but no dovekies!). We had informative visits to the bird cliffs and to some ancient Inuit sod huts on Bylot Island that incorporated whale vertebrae into the walls of the huts. We had a wonderful time. Wildlife sightings were stellar and our group was congenial and committed to spending time on the ice. We would highly recommend this trip.”
“I was looking forward to exploring the birds of New Brunswick and was not disappointed. The tour was as described on the Eagle Eye website. The varied habitats gave excellent opportunities to see a variety of birds not seen on the west coast where I live. The guides were excellent and went out of their way to find as many species as possible. The accommodation was good. I appreciated the all picnic and box lunches which kept us in the outdoors and minimized restaurant eating. Highlights for me was the pelagic boat trip, time on Grand Manan and the migrating semi-palmated sandpipers in the 10’s of thousands. (45000 the day we were there!)”
“Ken and Rudolf were absolutely amazing guides. I was able to get 20 life birds in this trip with a great time meeting other birders and seeing new areas.”
“The best part of this trip was our excellent guides. Ernesto and Paz found the birds and made sure that we had opportunities to all see them. The bus moved us efficiently from place to place and the accommodation and food were generally excellent. Eagle Eye from start to end kept me informed of changes and details of the trip.”
“Excellent and quick replies to any queries. Kind and caring staff who know their birds and other wildlife intimately. Just have to save for the next trip.”
“The Belize and Tikal trip is well organized and executed. Ernesto Carman, the Eagle-Eye guide, is one of the best Central America has to offer. He is the guide most birders hope for and literally birds from dawn to dusk (and sometimes beyond!) Ernesto appreciates that we cannot all keep pace with him and he is very understanding about one taking "personal time" to recharge. The accommodations and meals are quite adequate. Tikal is a very special aspect of the trip. The group has a one day pass and use this pass on the first full day in the park. I would recommend the organizers purchase a two day pass for the group. This would allow, on the second day, for anyone who so wishes, to return to the ruins for another visit.”
“This tour goes to hot spots, well-known to birders and popular at this time of year. We were grateful to be taken there by Kyle Schanta, our excellent leader, and to leave all the logistics to him and Eagle-Eye Tours.”
“The experience of the guides and their knowledge of all things natural was just wonderful! The wildlife viewed was amazing! The other adventurers were 'my people', loving nature and sharing their stories!”
