“I have never stayed in such a beautiful, well thought out cosy apartment. Evelyn gave us such a warm welcome. Met us outside - showed me around, chocolates on the bed - wine in the fridge - milk tea coffe biscuits etc. Just fantastic. Taking the food and drink to oneside :o) I could not have changed 1 single thing. I really wanted to live there. Just beautiful. We stayed for the Hogmany. Could NOT get a better situated apartment!!!! you only walked for 5 minutes and you were there. Just off Princes Street. Parking out on the street.
When I return to Edinburgh for my stay.... without question I will be going back. Really looking forward to staying there again. Home form Home.

“We really enjoyed the flat during our 8-day stay.The flat seemed to present a level of quality. However, after we bought in our food to cook a meal, we discovered the pots and pans were useless, loose handles, rusty and flakey teflon. That was a disappointment because it contradicted the standard of the flat, the hoover was not working good and it gave off a terrible smell, plus there was no extended tube to comfortably hoover, we suspected the carpet might be giving off a smell throughout the flat?
If you are renting out a flat these are things you should invest in, e.g. quality. There was supposed to be wifi but we could not connect, we tried 50 times to type in the code that's written in the book, it never ever connected us with Internet. But apart from all that, with all these things corrected, we would stay there again, because it is a really nice flat in a great location. the beds were perfect, the view of the castle from each bedroom window is a splendid site. The bathroom and toilet was perfect. And the welcome from John and Gill with tea and biscuits was much appreciated.

“A very homely, comfortable apartment with great facilities.
The location was great - it took us about 10 minutes to reach Holyrood Palace by foot, and from there we felt we were on the outskirts of the centre. It was probably another 10-15 minutes walk to the very middle of the city.
Just across the road from the flat is an entrance to the park, which makes for a very pretty alternative route. A large Sainsburys store is situated 10 minutes' walk around the corner which is great for stocking up on breakfast supplies and other basics!
Whilst we didn't make the most of all the features the flat had to offer (the jacuzzi bath looked great!) - they were really lovely touches. The impressive sound system with speakers in every room was lovely and made time spent recovering from trundling around the city all day all the more enjoyable!
Situated on the top floor of the block, the stairwell might make the access less suitable to elderly or physically impaired people, but this isn't something that caused our group of four any issue, despite a bit of panting and whining as we ascended the final flight of steps!
On the whole, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the apartment was a great find. We would certainly return without hesitation.”

“The views from this flat aren't just great, they are stunning! I enjoyed sunrise over the Firth each morning and the twinkling of Leith in the evenings. Free Leith parking is such a bonus...we've lived in Edinburgh and now we visit regularly. No hassle with parking meters is well worth it. Location was perfect and bus links are amazing. I won't be tempted to stay anywhere else in the future.”

It was ideally located for sight seeing in the city - very managable to walk to castle, royal mile, princes street etc. Nice atmosphere in the immediate locality including the university and park; also handy to have local store and cafe. Great view from the lounge, comfortable living space and bedrooms. All the facilities in the flat were in good order. Overall we we had a very satisfactory stay.”

“This is a smart flat in a small development close to a supermarket and the fantastic Holyrood Park. It was clean and comfortable. WiFi was a bit flakey and there was some noise from people walking in the flat above but overall quiet, well placed for the centre and recommended.”
“Great value flat, shortish walk from centre. The block of flats looked a bit scary at first but wonderful interior, very quiet at night. Very clean, with lots of little touches, such as bubble bath, milk, tea etc. Had a great stay. And has a parking place.”

“Disappointed with general grubbiness; could do with a scrub and coat of paint. Windows filthy despite great Castle view. Kettle dodgy. Dirty cooker. Saggy uncomfortable couches. Wobbly dining chair. Dirty shower screen. Dirty taps. Single toilet roll for 3 people over 5 nights?! No toilet brush?! No soap. No cleaning liquids/disinfectant, etc. No bath mat?! Travelled world wide and this is worst place stayed in. Overall; would definitely not recommend; felt very let down.”
