“I was quite disappointed at the sizing of all three dresses I purchased. They were more of a size 20/22 which was a shame as I loved all 3 dresses...”

“This is on the face of it a very nice coat. However it is not lined and so if you wanted to wear it unbuttoned it would look dreadful as you would see all the seams , the inside pockets etc. It would be ideal if it was lined. , but sadly I had to send it back as I don't want an unlined coat”

“Ever since Elvi started I have worn your clothes. I am now in my 60's, and am finding that you are doing everything for the young. We 60 year olds have cash, please can you do a few classic lines as before and some decent tea shirts. I feel buying clothes for myself very difficult. it was easy when you had a shop to try things on. I am not the only person in my age bracket who has this problem.”

“Delivery methods not very suitable for people who do not live anywhere near a collection store .....the cost of postage on returns plus the initial postage charges make one think twice before ordering ....I have only ordered once in the last year because of these charges ,probably will not order again , shame as plus size clothes are hard to find”

“Your products are getting worse each season and each year. The colours, fabrics, designs. Delivery is OK. WHY did I buy linen skirts on sale? To DYE them to the Blue and Green and Violet colours I like. I bought a light yellow top & a pink top from Evans- NOT Mustard! I am very TIRED of Butterflies and Princess Kate LACE used by everyone in designs. You had high quality when you were at Debenham's, then in Wimbledon, Edinburgh. Now you are behind Evans and Simply Be! You sometimes copy them a month later. Who likes your clothes? Old ladies; maybe CEOs with no private or personal life? I am not a CEO. I do have two adult children who are working in pharmacology. I did go to uni. Surely you don't want to reject graduates!?”

“Ordered an item, and paid £9.95 for Saturday delivery (very expensive compared to other online retailers) Goods were then sent Royal Mail 48 hour service, so arrived the following Wednesday Not a great first experience!”

“The tissue was of very low quality compared to what we are used to expect from ELVI. The size was a bit tight for 22,the size I usually wear. The design was not bad but it was compromised by the poor tissue. Only really positive thing was the lining that was luxurious enough contrasted to the outer tissue. Had I not been a generally satisfied customer of ELVI,I would not give them a second try, but it was the first item I buy of such a low quality, so I believe it was a coincidence.”

“I love the material of this blouse, but the design of it was somewhat different to what I was expecting, it said 'box' type, but was not expecting it to be so wide across the whole width. I am keeping it, but will make changes to it, so hopefully it will be more what I was expecting.”

“I brought a pair of trousers and a top but I wish that I had ordered the next size up. The trousers fitted lovely but I couldn't do them up. The top I couldn't get it over my chest. So I had to send them back.”

“I am usually an 18-20 on all clothes including trousers. However, I do like to get some of my tops a little bigger when they are supposed to hang. I was very disappointed when trying on the box tops. The inner shell was too tight and the outer box top was way way too big. Also, the other top was also too snug around the hips, which I noticed later on the model in the picture. As for the cardigan, that was very disappointing as well as it just did not sit right and I have pretty good proportions but found the length in the front to be ugly. It used to be I could buy something online practically blindfolded and know that it would fit me. Lately, for the past couple of years, this is no longer true. I wonder if you check that all your suppliers are on the same page with the sizes, because it is obvious they are not. Since you closed most shops and most of us are now obligated to make our purchases from you online, I think that there must be more control of sizes. You show your clothing online with a young model, but most clothing styles have become somewhat frumpy. All in all, whilst I used to say that Elvi clothing fits me as if I had it made for me, unfortunately, I can no longer say this. Please do something!!!”

“Ordered 4 pairs of trousers, one of which was to go with a jacket I ordered. Trousers were extremely long though an otherwise quite good fit. However one jacket despite sized 16 was absolutely huge! The other also size 16 had a twisted left sleeve and a kink in the collar fabric! Altogether a disappointing order - quality in some garments worthy of a 'seconds' label. I have purchased many Elvi trousers over 15 years and still wear them - what has happened on this occasion????”

“Sleeves on all garments ordered were far too long. All items returned as all too big. Size24ordered but goods were more like size 26. Trousers were size 26 but approx 6 inches too long. It would appear that goods made in larger sizes also determine that limbs are extra long as well. I can assure you this is no the case.”

“Sending items back was a nuisance - having to print off a form and then fill it in with duplicate information from the invoice. What if a person doesn't have a printer, and why write it all out again when you have all the information already? Life is very busy and my experience with Elvi compared to the ease of return with similar clothing outlets means I wont be shopping at Elvi again.”

“I used to be an avid Elvi customer until you removed the name from the shops. Your product is not what it was and your fashion at present is not one I really like personally. I have returned my recent purchases as your sizes now are not what they were. I have in my wardrobe at present previous Elvi trousers size 22 which are very confortable, the ones I received in the last few days and returned for credit were too small at least by a size. In the past I had nothing but Elvi in my wardrobe but today alas only what has been purchased from stores. Very smart trouser suits and skirt suits plus trousers and very smart blouses. I look forward to receiving my refund. Ethel Halfpenny”
