Process was good at first to get me a quote and answer some questions, but when I was near the end of the process and ready to buy the system my advisor stopped responding to any emails for the past few weeks. Had to finish and purchase on my own without all my final questions being answered.

Hi Craig – thanks for your feedback. Sorry about the delayed response; our Energy Advisors work hard to get back to solar shoppers as soon as possible, and we never want to leave anyone's solar questions unanswered. Our team will reach out to you directly soon to see what we can do to assist. In the meantime, don't hesitate to contact our team at solarteam@energysage.com with any further questions.

Energysage is a terrific platform for receiving solar proposals and breaking them down into easily comparable format. Honestly, my wife and I had no idea just how much we didn’t know about going solar and the information and guidance we received through the Energysage website was immeasurable. After receiving diving bids we zeroed in on a contractor that we thought was the most interested and competitive and that could not have happened on our own. The one we decided upon happened to be one of the three contractors bidding on the Energysage website, but there were two other local solar contractors who we contacted ourselves for bids, thinking we should go local, that were either not competitive or not interested. So, going through Energysage is the right thing to do if you are serious about obtaining competitive solar pricing.

EnergySage helped me as a consumer to understand the industry, the process of choosing an installer, details about the equipment that I was purchasing, and basically giving me the information so I could confidently move forward with solar power for my home. Thank you!

The initial quote was around $17,000. After talking to them, they required ~$42,000 after 3 days of engineering. When I identified that the only new equipment added was two batteries for the increased price. I ended up getting a quote after one day of engineering needing a larger system with $62,000 price tag. Seems like a bait and switch scam to me.

Incredible site. A wealth of objective information on solar, knowledgeable associates, quick response times, fast and easy quotes from local companies. I'm not sure how it's not a paid service, but I assume the companies that work through Energysage need to fork over some amount of what I end up paying them, and perhaps some of that cost is passed on to me. Either way, it made the process so much easier I believe it was well worth it. Still working with my chosen solar company to get things started at this time, but most of the hard stuff seems to be out of the way.

Before I found EnergySage, I had had meetings with two solar companies. I even signed a contract with one and then canceled it. I'm so glad I did. EnergySage gave me confidence in making a solar choice. It was especially nice to have someone to talk to who wasn't trying to sell me anything.

Very easy process. We received a very quick response but only received 2 quotes. Easy to compare equipment and estimated energy cost savings. Financing was available and its cost vs full payment was easy to compare. Overall a very good experience. We would have rated this a 5 if we would have received a couple more quotes.

If you are a little unsure about the specifics of solar power generation, and/or don't have a contractor in mind, this service is invaluable. There is a lot of info to read about at the website, but going through the process of getting a quote and picking a contractor results in you learning about what you want regarding system attributes, and you end up with a contractor that has been vetted by an impartial third party. I only got two bids; i suspect because of the geographical location. If you live in a more populated area, you will probably get mulitiple bids. Anything more than one is a huge help to be confident you aren't getting ripped off. Great experience.

Energy Sage made it easy for us to find multiple providers for a home solar installation. We probably saved about $5,000 as a result of the competitive bidding process. I also appreciated the solar advisor session with Energy Sage - they answered many of my questions and helped me understand what I needed to ask the installers to make a good choice.

They make it so easy to get solar. Instead of you having to figure it out or see if you have a good deal, it is all presented to you and easy to compare.

Using EnergySage helped me have confidence that I understood the economics of a solar installation. They walked me through the products and how to compare prices. I hope they branch out into other products like HVAC / heat pumps.

Was great to work through Energy Sage. We had almost made the mistake of going with a nationally known company and then found EnergySage where we were able to compare proposals, cost and meet with several companies. Sam, our EnergySage adviser was able to help with my many questions. We ended up going with one of the companies on EnergySage. We have been very happy with our choice! Thanks EnergySage

Sadly, I had a very poor experience. It’s possible I was dropped during the process. My rep missed a couple of appointments. When we finally connected I was wrongfully identified as a potential employee vs. a client. That experience would have been excusable (since no one is perfect); if I wasn’t later ignored / forgotten about again. I like the concept and I truly believe in EnergySage. However, it appears that the client-to-customer ratio is currently high and it is contributing to several bad experiences.

Very useful service. There are three main benefits. The first is that you can get detailed, thorough quotes from several vendors without contacting them individually. This is helpful because if you contact them directly they'll often want to take as much of your time as possible to build a relationship, etc. So they'll want to do in-person calls and visits, etc. That's fine if they turn out to be one of your top choices but it's not a great first step from the consumer's perspective. The second great benefit is that you can compare the quotes in a very detailed and precise way since all of the vendors essentially fill out entries in a database. You can use EnergySage to directly compare cost, features, specs, etc. thoroughly. The quotes I got outside of EnergySage were far less forthcoming with details, equipment specs, etc. The last major benefit is that all interaction with vendors is through EnergySage unless you decide to give out your email or phone number. This lets you control the conversation. All of the vendors that I interacted with were responsive and helpful. Solar companies do not make it easy for consumers to know all of the information before making a purchase decision. Things like dealer fees are likely not explained to most people and not sure if EnergySage makes dealer fees clear are not but EnergySage does help to give the consumer an assist. Definitely do your research as well but EnergySage was definitely helpful for me.
