They charged £75 pounds to change the policy to a cheaper car!!! Ombudsman were useless in resolving this so don't bother trying. Not interested in helping just in taking money

A customer of Esure collided with my sons car on a roundabout and admitted fault. Esure gave him a hire car and arranged for repairs through their 'chosen' garage. 39 days later we have still not got the car back! Could have built a car in this time!! I have been told weekly from the garage that it will be ready tomorrow......., next week........, and so on, still not got his car! Complained to Esure several times they dont seem to care! Oh and who will lose out in all this? My son as his premiums are guaranteed to rise because of Esure's customer he will be heavily penalised as a young driver even though it was not his fault!! Obviously wont be asking Esure for a quote for any of our family cars as i have witnessed first hand how they are not interested in innocent careful drivers!!!

Pathetic company

Unprofessional staff, absolute crooks who once realising that I would move policies cancelled my policy despite me having paid for the month and having been clearly told that the policy would run for the month. I cannot reiterate enough that I will never deal with esure again.

Using a comparison site and prompted to ‘go to provider’, wouldn’t load up my details. Esure website wouldn’t allow me to enter my employment details and unable to find my address. So gave up. Terrible, terrible service!!

After being a loyal customer over the years and finally requiring multiple car insurance policies who else to call but esure. After all reassurance from the esure salesperson that my yearly premium increase was due to insuring multiple vechicles, which did make perfect sense to me. Did I then find out some months later when I went to amend my policy that one of the vechiles I believed to be legally insured was nothing of the sort! After several calls to esure to bottom out where the confusion was and still not receiving a satisfactory answer I cancelled the direct debit and policy. Oh but.....you are now due esure xyz fees for whatever. The polite individual I was in contact with from esure could easily see what had happened and where confusion had been, but unfortunately the bill and fees still laid with me. Even when I mentioned that due to this "mishap" I had been driving without insurance the response still was we want the end of contract early fees and what ever else you could think of. My take on that is good luck with those and I will argue the case. No fees no loyalty different insurer for life.

My wife is currently with Esure (for now) and back in 2015 she had an accident where a van cut across her on a roundabout and damaged her car as well as injuring my wife. My wife explained to Esure that she wasn't at fault and provided Esure with all the information they required. As the guilty party insuranc did not respond to Esure within the timescale, they (Esure) automatically put the claim down as a 50/50 resulting in my wifes monthly premiums rocketing through no fault of her own. There was no communication made to my wife regards this and we found out due to noticing the monthly payments as she didn't receive any renewal documents. My wife did question this and as usual to date, no return communication made to my wife. Terrible support to their own paying customers.

I was involved in an accident April this year the other party admitted fault from the start and the case was closed without dispute. My car was repaired to an excellent standard by Mackenzie body shop and I was happy with the resolve. In august my renewal came through with a 50% increase on my premiums and the only answer I was given when I phoned up and asked was "Because you've had an accident you're more likely to have another one" So how much did it cost you Esure? Oh yes nothing as it was covered by the other party's insurer Here is something everyone would like to hear the other persons insurance went up by around 30% after they admitted full responsibility after the incident was resolved their insurer "Sheila's wheels" My insurer "Esure" said the case was closed as not my fault and my no claims will not be affected. But on renewal my premiums went up by 50% Sheila's wheels up by 30% when your at fault? Esure premiums up by 50% when not at fault? Will I be renewing with Esure again "that's a big absolutely NO!!!"

Don't use them. Gave us a van for a courtesy car. Then made us chase it up with the rental company. Sad there would be no disruption to our life but have lost 2 days, missed appointments and child's football presentation because of them. They don't know what customer service is. Shocking

Terrible service. they might be cheap, but at the end you might pay more as if you make claim they are unable to solve even if you have a report in your favour from the police. don't use them!

Insurance easy to set up till you have a claim, they offer you a 2-door car as a courtesy car not like for like, which is not practical if you have a large family and also take too long to approve garage to go ahead and start the repair work. My car is been at the garage for 17 days and we are still waiting for approvals for the estimates from the engineers at Esure!! The attitude of the stafff on the phone is nothing but ridiculous, spoke to someone yesterday who in a raised tone said if I didn't like their courtesy car, I shouldn't have insured with them!! If I didn't have a claim , then I am sure everything will have been fine. Unfortunately when you need them, they don't want to know......

Knocked my laptop of the table and it died. Had it insured specifically cos its expensive. They took it away and after a few days i was told it wasn't covered as it was "wear and tear, deterioration over time mechanical failure." This happened at the same time the laptop hit the ground.....which was convenient for them. If it had physical damage then maybe they could say it was a result from that but unfortunately for me it landed on its bottom and whatever broke inside was undetectable by them so basically tough luck. Though I should feel free to pay someone else to look at it and then esure will have the same people who looked at it the first time check it again. If i had the money to pay other people to look at it then I would have rather than rely on them. So glad I paid for the extra cover. No wonder the forums online say "if its broken, make sure if you send it to them with enough damaged so they cant weasel out of it." Honesty gets you nothing.

Totally unacceptable for them to take money out of my bank account when renewal date is due. Phoned them to ask for refund (which i have not seen the money back into my bank account yet). In their defense, they said that I must have clicked the "automatic renewal" button. I may have done but the button was not obvious otherwise i would definitely, definitely would NOT have clicked automatic renewal. I class this as stealing, taking money without consent. Disgusting.

Insured my car in March of 2017 with Esure First Alternative Insurance, never again I would avoid all costs and recommend anybody not to go near this company, when I took out the policy there was no explanation that there would be a cancellation fee if the policy was to be cancelled, I've just phoned to cancel my insurance due to buying a new car and found a better quote online and have been charged a £67.50 cancellation fee!! Anything to get money out of their customers, again, avoid all costs!!

Ensure is letting down customers who buy home and contents combined. My ceiling collapsed in a bedroom but Esure's loss adjusters advised not to pay out claiming wear and tear because it is a lathe and plaster ceiling even though it collapsed during the worst rainfall for months. The adjuster All our bedroom stuff was damaged but again nothing included in the report.
