“I would give zero stars if I could
I would give zero stars if I could. Upto 1 hour waiting times on the phone. They insured me then 6 months later decided they made a mistake and that I was too high a risk. 52 year old hospital consultant driving a Volvo with 16 years ncb and 6 points. Was pulled over several times by police and contacted by DVLA. Stay away from these cowboys
Still not had my refund”
“"I emailed an address, to which I got a reply to say that it was not in use and to use their chat bot - however, there is never a person in there and it is simply, an automated service - not as they say, with a real person. I then found another email address but, yet again, having sent several emails - they have not responded. "”
“Have been insured for 30 years+ at various properties and when insured through esure home insurance. Encountered a leak through kitchen ceiling from the bathroom. Esure sent a surveyor from BVS who were total liars said to us on day happy to repair but downplayed the amount of damage once we obtained quotes used various excuses ie hiuse not occupied, failed sealant, plumber who has quoted is not reliable, damp shows pre existing(which turned out to be breach of dpc) they are total liars and failed to quote. Took 18 months with the ombudsman and proved that they didn't even remove the bath panel at the minimum to check area of leak yet made so many fabricated accusations all which were proven to be lies. Complaint upheld by ombudsman and work completed having to pay myself initially. Do yourself a favour and avoid this fraud organisation who are happy to take payment but will not pay under any circumstance.”
“Very poor managed company (esure)
I called esure regarding a leak in a leak in my roof. I was on hold for over 1hour and 10 mins. Eventually I got through to an agent, she was NOT very helpful and could not wait to get of the phone. she gave me another number to call. I called another she gave me and was holding over 2 hours before I hung up. My issue is still not resolved and this is the 2nd time I had the same experience within 6 months. I would NOT recommend anyone to go with esure.
I just had a reply saying email axa, not happy with this. Also tried to call today to esure and axa but can not get through. I have been trying since 8 am this morning to no avail. Absolutely abysmal service as you can not get through to anyone at esure or their emergency number. Please DO NOT go with esure for your insurance needs as they are appalling company with no clear directions for their customer needs and service.”
“"Rubbish company no help what do ever when I claimed against Zurich who's insured crashed into my parked vehicle esure informed me I would have to pay my access on my own policy also would effect my no claims bonus defiantly not renewing with them."”
“Stay away from these scammers.
I have been with them for 5 years and never made a claim and now I have 5 years NCD and they are trying to charge me £1070 up from £670.
I called to ask why there was an increase and they could not give me a reply. Their sales team is terrible to say the least. You have to call and hold for ages and you get answered by someone outside the UK who cannot speak good English and they have no idea about customer services.
go online to comparison sites and like me you can save over £500 on your renewal.”
“I have just spoken to esures claims dept after having to wait over 50 minutes on the phone only to be offended by her attitude policy no 81909118 ref no 4005132532 some one claimed 2400 pounds on my insurance policy for a incident i knew nothing about back in march 2021 its now sept 2022 and they still havnt resolved this false claim they charged me 60 odd pounds on top of my next policy iv also been clobberd a further 180 pounds on top of my new policy esure claim that they sort out all problems within eight weeks i dont think its funny”
“Joke of a company. Charged me £27 to cancel a policy that I had paid up to date. Also took the month in advance payment out the same day. When I threatened not to pay they told me they would pass to a bailiff company. So not use.”
“I am absolutely disgusted by Esure. I've had both my car insurance and home insurance for many years with esure. My previous year's renual was just under £300. With another year's loyalty bonus and another year's no claim bonus, I was expecting my renual this year to be around the £250 mark. To my absolute horror, this years renual has shot up to well over £500, for no apparent reason. After thinking there might have been some sort of mistake, I contacted Esure directly and was told it was due to inflation. Its funny that on price comparison sites my quotes are well under £300! What an absolute shambles of a company. I feel totally let down by Esure having been with them for so many years. What a disgrace of a company.”

“0verpriced increased price hikes over 3 years the last price increase been by 25% I eventually got motivated to look at other companies. I found a far superior policy which included fully comp instead of the party also included a courtesy car and breakdown cover this price was £260 compared to esure quotes of 520 for third party fire and theft absolutely disgusting”
“Terrible company, same can be said for their partner Rye Street Group who returned my vehicle with multiple faults including engine, heating/fan & oil and took no responsibility.
Vehicle left my property with none of these faults present which was verified by the picture taken by the collect driver.
Left with a car I can’t use following excess payment
Avoid at all costs”
“Avoid this insurer at all costs - they are dodgy as!
Our BMW recently had its catalytic converter stolen. We reported this to the police, then made a claim with Esure. Having the converter removed deemed the car undrivable, therefore the car sat in its parked spot on the street until they collected it for assessment.
During this time, the side of the car facing the road was not visible to us - thus any new damage there wasn't noticed. Two or three days later, when someone from ESure came to collect the car, we noticed someone had swiped it down the road-facing side. We're not sure how this happened - whether it was at the same time as the theft, or due to someone on the street subsequently sideswiping it (possible, as our street gets busy in the mornings). The police also didn't make note of this damage when they initially inspected the car following the converter theft - I'm sure they would have included this in their report if it was there (though it was late at night and it's possible they missed it).
My husband reported this new damage to Esure and explained the situation. He was advised by Kieran on 4th July that this damage would be added to our claim. (Esure has have a recording of this advice.)
We later received a call from ESure saying their estimated market value of our car was £2890 (!), and the cost of the repairs would be £2223. On this basis, they deemed the car a total loss.
We were unsure how Esure arrived at this market valuation? Previously, they valued the car at £4853. It was in very good bodily condition: a few paint chips and scratches on trims of bumpers (all superficial), as well as a cracked panel over the front left wheel.
We pressed Esure on why there was now such a dramatic reduction in our car's value??
Following that call (and because we believe they initially mistakenly deducted the cost of the catalytic converter repairs from the new car value!!!) they upped the car's market valuation to max £3800.
The reason? The NEW sideswipe damage was categorised by them as PREVIOUS DAMAGE, so they therefore deducted that repair cost from the new car value!
Doing this is illegal according to the financial ombudsman's website. (Also, if it was pre-existing damage as they insinuated, there was no reason for us not to report it to them beforehand as we were already covered for this kind of damage!)
Second, I challenged Esure that the new valuation they'd assigned meant, as per the wording of their contract, the car was no longer a total loss (new value of £3800 vs repairs of £2200). Given I couldn't replace my car for the new market value they'd offered, I instructed them to please fix the car. Ian from the engineers team insisted that no, they weren't prepared to do this, because Esure had already decided the car was a total loss based on the first valuation! He also insisted that Esure had behaved legally...
Come on guys - you don't have a leg to stand on here. Both your policy wording, as well as voice recordings between Kieran and my husband on 4/7 will attest to this. This case will be a no-brainer for the ombudsman.
Will update gere again as this case goes forward.
TL;DR: AVOID AVOID AVOID, this insurer is shonky as hell. Zero stars if I could.”
“In a major crash 10 weeks ago was offerred medical help by esure and specifically Physio for my multiple injuries. These were acknowledged in the medical report their doctor who examined me and after 5 week they are now saying they are not going to give me physio and have withdrawn from dealing with me. Not sut sure what that means legally but they are clearly panicking and are worried about spending any money. They wont speak to me they have just left me injured and dont care. Tell you one thing then walk away
Can you afford to be off your work without any money coming in. Thats what ESURe do to you. Can you afford to deal with ESURE?
LIARS CHEATS COWARDS never heard of anything like it but look at the reviews on Trustpilot and Smartmoney people the reviews are frightening.
Now pursuing the driver who hit me through the local sheriff court system. I thought that was why you had insurance
Avoid Esure at all costs because it may make you very poor”
