Waited longer than expected. One time got answer for my message, all other messages was ignored . Got terrarium with defects - the doors do not close well , a small piece is broken off on the door glass .

This review is a focus on the delivery service and customer support, and likely owner of this business. I ordered an enclosure and a thermostat for my snake over a month ago, I never received my parcel, but it was marked as delivered. I contacted support about this around 2 weeks in, this was completely useless as they simply kept telling me to contact the courier repeatedly, I did this and each time they never responded, this company never actually provided any solution. They also provided evidence of the location in which my parcel has been delivered, now here was the issue, it was delivered to a block of flats next door to me, which as I’m sure you can assume there is no chance I’m getting that parcel from them. After I provided evidence for this they eventually just stopped responding to emails, so this forced me to take this to PayPal. I waited around 2 or 3 weeks for a response on PayPal, in which was simply them once again arguing that the parcel has been delivered, and stating that the GPS is not a precise location, if that’s the case why did they provide that as evidence that it has been delivered in the first place? Seems like a lie to me, maybe from them or APC (the courier). Either way after informing them that this doesn’t change the fact I haven’t gotten my parcel, and because of how long it’s taking I’ve had to order from Northampton reptile centre instead, and even said I would provide evidence for this they simply ignored me and have now elevated the case to PayPal. Hopefully, I win the case as I’m a uni student with not much money to throw away. Because of all this I would AVOID this company as they are completely useless if you have a single issue with your delivery. I would even argue that they may as well have no support, as they didn't provide any help, and expected me to try and find my parcel by contacting the courier, which is ridiculous when I didn't choose the courier and I know nothing of them, and they never replied to any of my emails... I would avoid any company that uses APC delivery (unfortunately Northampton reptile centre does) because of this.

HI Luke, I'm afraid I must contest several statements you had made in this review. Firstly, we were provided GPS evidence at your address, along with tracking updates by our courier to prove this has been delivered to you. We did contact APC on several occasions for this information and the customer support team even contacted the driver who remembers delivering the parcel to your address. PayPal as an independent organisation did not penalise us because they could see the same evidence we had proving that a delivery had been made. All of your emails were responded to, we are not in the business of ignoring customers. Its not in our interest to do so, nor is it any kind of business. We wish you all the best for the future. Pretty poor, sadly. I ordered a UVB light. For ages my order status simply said “awaiting dispatch” but I couldn’t get an update from the company. Eventually they write saying it would be delayed and offered me a refund instead, which I accepted. I sourced the light elsewhere. Then they delivered the light to me anyway so o have to return it, which they expect me to pay for. During all this time they don’t answer any emails. Really disappointing customer service and I will avoid in future.

Stayed home all day for arranged delivery which never arrived, attempted to contact them but had no response to emails, calls or messages left. Finally got through a few days later to be told they were out of the animal, was offered a different type that I accepted. It arrived the following week in terrible condition, it was barely able to move and respond and upon closer inspection was covered in multiple layers of stuck shed (filling his nostrils, ears and parts of eyes and mouth and cutting of circulation to his toes) and missing horns and the majority of his scales. After removing the stuck shed i found that the skin underneath was covered in wounds, two of which were rather severe. I emailed regarding the issue and got no response so phoned up, after multiple tries I received an email that, like all of the responses from them, was dismissive of the issue. ‘upon packing nothing was noticed and that are all WC (Wild Collected), they can sometimes have the odd scale/horn missing, which is normal for any WC animals. I believe this Dragon had been shedding and it can take a good week for them to fully shed their skin - therefore, some skin may have still been present.’ I responded again to clarify the origin of the animal as I had initially been informed it was captive bred and to stress the extent of the issues but once again have received no response.

Hi Jane, We have responded to every single email you have sent and have obviously spoken to you on the phone on a few occasions regarding this situation. To be clear the animal you purchased was wild caught. This is stated clearly on our website and we would never mislead anyone over an animals origin. We sell very few WC animals and continue to encourage captive breeding at every level. Every animal before it is shipped (via our specialist courier) is fully inspected by our experienced staff. If an animal has an obvious ailment or illness it would be immediately removed from sale and refunded. We would never risk the life of any animal. During our conversation with you, we were informed that you removed dry skin to expose wounds. In our experience wounds like this are normally caused by removing shed that is not ready to come off. I understand this situation has now been resolved for you and you are satisfied with the outcome. Best regards Chris

The money was taken out of my bank account straight away. When I checked to see if my order had been dispatched (seeing as the money had been taken) it said ‘awaiting’. I then had to email Exotic Pets to find out when it was going to be due. Turns out this item is out of stock. I was not told of this and again my money had been taken. I then got a replacement sent out no problems but the replacement was half the price and I am still waiting for my refund. My order was placed on the 23rd November.

Unfortunately, I do need to correct some of the details given here. You ordered from us late on a Thursday evening and we attempted to order this off site item from our supplier on the Monday. We then found this product had been discontinued by our supplier. You called us on the Monday morning just before we had opportunity to contact you. We explained the situation and offered you an alternative there and then, which you accepted. We then dispatched this replacement item on the Tuesday (once the stock had arrived with us from our supplier) and we refunded you that day for the difference in cost. N.B. All refunds take 3-5 working days for banks to process. I do feel this review judges us very harshly, considering that we made every attempt to resolve this for you and give you a product that was as close to the original as we could. A very pleasant experience, from start to finish. The reptile purchased arrived securely packaged in small, plastic-container with a little tissue inside; the dates of recent feedings and his last shed written on top. The plastic container itself was further secured in a polystyrene box, closed tightly with tape, as well as tissue-paper cladding on the inside. Undoubtedly, the reptile wasn't in danger during transit. The reptile himself, an Aesculapian snake, looked to be in perfect health, and continues to do so. The first feed involved a little trial and error, but having worked out a system that works, will undoubtedly get easier. Items purchased along with the reptile, including frozen mice, that were very kindly substituted for a bigger type, arrived in perfect order too, further enhancing my opinion. They were all packed securely inside a large cardboard box filled with shredded paper/card that served as very sufficient wadding. The only thing that was perhaps stressful was the wait, though I would make it clear that it was through no fault of Exotic Pets. I ordered late on a Tuesday night, though it was written clearly that orders had to be in before AM to be delivered the next Thursday. The 9 day wait was advantageous in that it allowed more time to prepare, and perhaps even re-evaluate the purchase of an exotic pet, though in my case, time was spent counting the day he was to arrive. Delivery day was probably the most anxious-filled; the order being delivered late in the evening, though predictably, those feelings do very quickly leave you upon opening the box. Exotic Pets certainly delivered with their quality of service, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others in the market for exotic reptiles, and other interesting creatures. Thank you!

The order was sent exactly on time, was reasonably priced and was just as ordered. The staff I spoke to concerning the order were friendly, polite and very helpful. I can recommend dealing with this company.

Thanks to the superb service and tons of brilliant advice from Exotic Pets UK, we have recently added a new family member: Camilla the chameleon! They have patiently and with absolute professional knowledge answered our millions of questions and concerns, not just before the big purchase but ever since then. They have been very flexible, caring and thoughtful! My daughter even had some extra surprises in the pack for her birthday! We haven't really met any services who would go this extra mile, so we feel extremely lucky and grateful having stumbled across and contacting them with our wish to have a pet chameleon! We highly recommend their service to everybody who is just about to add an exotic pet to their family or need a reliable, prompt and kind service for their existing one!

Ordered 3 spiderlings as a first time buyer and they arrived perfectly packed safe and in very good health, spoke to an employee before I ordered and the girl was very helpful and professional. Would and will definitely order from exoticpets in the near future Highly recommend 5☆

The Delivery process was quick and easy however there was a very slight issue. Unfortunately, Our Vietnamese Stick insect lost one leg in transit, this sad for us as we can see him struggle when roaming.

Just recently ordered a Guatemalan spiny tailed iguana, stick insects, blue tongue skink and Asian long tailed lizards and SandFish. All received happy and healthy as always. As always the staff, especially Karen have been amazing with my orders as always.
