“The culture arrived exactly on time. Despite winter temperatures, it activated within 2 days. I have just enjoyed my first kefir drink, and it was very pleasant: looking forward to what it tases like when the culture is fully up and running. The instructions and website are very clear and friendly.”

“I'm very satisfied with the service that Freshly Fermented provide. Simple ordering and payment procedure. I ordered 2 sourdough starters. They were dispatched immediately. Sent by international tracked and signed. So I knew where my package was at all times. I'm an englishman living in Bavaria and my goods arrived in less than a week. Customer service is excellent. I needed advice on storing more than one starter culture, because of cross contamination. I got an immediate solution via email. I'm already baking sourdough with my starters. I would recommend, even if it's a little more expensive, to buy the San Francisco starter. The flavour of the bread is just awesome. I also feel a strange sort of affinity with that starter when I feed it. Maybe that's just me, but if you're adopting a starter, you need to know these things. 5 HUGE STARS.”

“Bought the San Francisco Sourdough Starter. Fantastic - had it about a month and made dozens of loaves. Also split the ferment into two and fed one on pure rye flour. So now I have a white San Fran starter and a pure Rye one. Both work really well with the rye one being the more active, and made a great loaf using 80/20 white and spelt. Definitely recommended.”

“I followed the instructions on the website and the two starters (SAN Francisco and Alaskan) sprang into life. I used Patrick Ryan’s video class on sourdough et voilá! Two beautiful loaves. Terrific starters. Can strongly recommend.b”
