“Very disappointed with the service provided by Gardening Express. I placed my order on 12th April and they took my payment on the following day. As we enter June, my order is still being processed and I have no idea when or whether the plants will arrive.”

“I have been in shielded self isolation since lock down living alone. To give myself something to do 8n the garden I ordered some plants from Garden Express even though money is very tight. I have been waiting 2 months for plants and payment has been taken out of my account Surely this should only be done when dispatched? They say they are not a scam. But surely the right thing to do is to stop taking any more orders until existing contracts fulfilled”

“Ordered 3 plants on April 4th, not delivered until May 18th in an awful condition. Packaged extremely poorly and damaged in transit. Plants were broken, bent, dry and unhappy. One has completely died after a few days. No reply as of yet from my complaint to the company. DO NOT USE.”

“Ordered my plant on 14 APRIL, I know they are busy due to circumstances, but took money straight away, sent a generic email about coronavirus etc., but still no plant. Had email saying it had been despatched on may 25 still NO plant. Can’t get hold of anyone they don’t respond to emails, dreadful company please do not use these people, wished I had read reviews before I did .”

“DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SCAM COMPANY Don't buy from this company, they sold me a dead bare rooted tree and now won't respond to the support tickets (40 days old), other than to delete them, the 5 year guarantee is junk. Have a look at this lot please I make it my mission to complain about them everyday on twitter now @piccyman I also add the addresses below @GardeningExpres @TradingStdsBlog @CitizensAdvice @bbcRogueTrader”

“AVOID!!!! Placed an order, said it would normally be 3-5 working days but may extend to 10 and in very exceptional circs 15. Money was taken then got an email to say 4 weeks delay but I see from other customers this has extended to almost 2 months. When they changed the delivery terms they should have given the customer a choice of a refund but they refused even though my order was not processed they said I had to cancel in 24 hrs or I couldn't. Still my order has not been touched and they won't let me cancel and give me a refund. They take your money, take orders when they know they can't process them, and then don't delivery for weeks. My first message got answered by a cut and paste bot and my second one has been ignored for 10 days so far. I want a refund, I don't want their plants half way though the summer! Greedy company, very bad practice to not offer refunds when they are at fault. DO NOT USE”

“AVOID!! AVOID!! AVOID!! Disgusting customer services (or lack thereof). Placed an order on 20 April. Money taken straight away. Had one email giving the whole delay due to Covid excuse. No way of reaching them or enquiring about it. No idea when my order will come. Shame on them!!!”

“Placed an order on 19th April for a few plants. I have had no specific updates regarding my order. There is no contact details to speak to anyone, only to raise a ticket on their website. I requested a refund 2 weeks ago and have heard absolutely nothing from them. Seems they're happy to take everyone's money very quickly, even though they cannot fulfil orders.”

“AVOID LIKE COVID 19 They state 15 days max for delivery , I ordered on the 14th of April with still no commas and no plants . Do not use this company . If you have ask your bank to recall payment as the6 are a scam site . Positive reviews must be fake .”

“If I could avoid giving GE even 1 star, I would. I placed my order on 11th April and it arrived today Friday 29th May. Seemingly Gardening Express received more business than they could handle but they could have limited orders earlier, as well as refunding money. My plants had been in transit since Monday. With one exception, a rose, they were well-packaged internally but the box had been damaged at some point, hence a second plant was badly damaged. The previously mentioned ground-cover rose, is no more than a sickly twig which no self-respecting garden centre would dream of selling as an established plant. If it survives, it won’t be covering anything for a very long time. Beware, they have proved an appalling company to deal with.”

“I should have read these reviews before I PLACED MY ORDER !! my fault !. I have now waited almost five weeks but no plants ,no answers to requests no refunds , no communication it seems to be a scam and I have reported it to my bank”

“Six weeks on and still waiting. Ticket unanswered. Suspected a scam so checked Companies House and it made for dire reading. I advise you to have a look. Not expecting my plants now till mid July. Very, very poor company and not to be used. If my pants have not arrived in the next two weeks I'll be onto my credit card people, my solicitors and Trading Standards. A complete shambles and still not sure that it's not a scam having seen the Companies financials.”

“10 Poor quality plants stuffed into a very small box with no protection from each other or being squashed. Huge ding on one corner of the parcel. Most plants wrecked. ..never again. No stars from me”

“Absolutely appalling service - warning to others : you are throwing your money away. Still haven't received my order six weeks after placing it and still labeled as "processing". They don't respond to e-mails and you aren't allowed to contact them by phone.”
