I bought a palm tree a month or so ago . It arrived in ok condition . With a lot of attention it has begun to lift its head up . There was a price drop (Wowcher ) . So I ordered another one . It arrived yesterday . What was in the box was a disgrace . I am a very experienced gardener . I have never seen a plant , in such bad condition . The soil around the roots was almost white . It was obvious that this plant , had not been watered for weeks . All the tips , were brown . I re potted it . The roots were bone dry . I had to cut the pot away . I drenched the roots for more than an hour . The root base was so small . It was almost impossible to get the plant , to stay upright . ( even with 6 large stakes around it . You should be ashamed of sending out a plant in such poor condition . You are an absolute disgrace to your profession . You should not be allowed to send plants out , that are not fit for purpose . I will speak to my local trading standards ,& ask them to view it .They like me will be shocked . I’m sure they will be in touch .

Awful customer service. Plants very late after a bereavement. Tried to cancel but was ignored. Had plants after i ordered more, about 3 weeks late. Double money. Terrible customer service as I was just ignored

Sent me two dead cherry trees and a peach tree looking very sad. Hasn't responded to any emails looking for a replacement or refund. This was 3 weeks ago

2 months after ordering with them I'm still waiting for my order to be completed. I have emailed on numerous occasions, asking where my order was initially but then requesting a refund. No replies, all the negative reviews should be used by them to initiate changes in all aspects of their company, sadly I do not think this will ever happen. Do not buy from them, pay a little extra elsewhere for peace of mind.

I ordered 30th May. As of today, 3/4 of my order was never despatched. I can't speak to anyone, I no longer want my order, I just want a refund. My order is no longer viewable on the website. Out of 7 emails, only one received a response, and it asked for photos of plants that were never shipped. So it was a backwards generic response. I've asked 3 times since end of June to cancel and refund, with zero response. I'm currently trying to get my money back through my bank, which so far is in a 3 week process. I'm so angry. I will never order from Gardening Express again. I received 4 plants out of my entire order, only 1 survived. Please take accountability and stop taking more orders until you've resolved your issues. You've been advertising left over stock of what I ordered in May, but never sent to me. Absolutely slap in the face receiving these emails.

Complaints go back to 2007 - google them. Bad packaging, broken stems on hydrangea, broken pot, half dead lavender. Sent 4 emails and contact forms with 10 photos. No response whatsoever. Will go through my bank now. Do not use this company.

I placed an order on 21st June 2025 and have still not received anything. No delivery, no proper updates, no refund – and no customer service whatsoever. I've emailed several times with no response. This has been the most frustrating online order I’ve ever experienced. Avoid this company unless you want stress, silence, and missing orders. Very disappointing experience.

Extremely poor service! I ordered some plants and despite email confirmation saying they'll be dispatched within 10-15 working days during busy times, mine was send out after 18 days!!! Note plants were on sale and last chance to plant them, so any delay mattered. But sorry 18 days is just beyond ridiculous! If that wasn't bad enough, the courier left the parcel somewhere.......not delivered it to the correct address and customer service never replies to any emails! I've emailed multiple times to 2 different email addresses and I'm pretty sure they're just ignoring it, as when I was enquiring earlier about delivery status they were responsive. Bad bad company! Never buy anything from them!!!

Cowboy company! It took a complete month for my shrub to arrive, having said it was in stock at the time I ordered it. When it did arrive it was not what I ordered. Numerous messages to the shabby outfit and no response, quick to take your money and offer zero customer service and no phone number to call!! Watchdog have been informed and are interested in following up this rogue company. I suggest you do the same if you have experienced similar issues.

They sent me my order after 20 Working days and after all this waiting I received 2 faulty plants. I sent them several emails and images but they didn’t reply to any of my emails. They didn’t even acknowledge any of my emails. They say that have 5 years warranty, but that’s not true. It’s clear to me that they are purposely refusing to deal with my query.

Really awful company - my order took forever to come - over 4 weeks , nobody replied to emails. The order came in dribs and drabs and essentially half dead, most of the plants are now completely dead despite careful treatment. When I emailed them to complain I was completely ignored over three times , despite sending photos. I have wasted £120 & wound recommend avoiding this company at all costs, bunch of scammers.

I got a duo pear tree a few weeks ago. I planted it and one side came into leaf. Other side is totally dead. Contacted them. No answer. Tried again with pictures. No answer. You can take a gamble and hope everything comes ok, but if it doesn't you will get zero response, money back or acknowledgement. I have used them several times and usually had good plants come, but this year they seem to have just stopped dead with customer service.

Appalling company, disgraceful attitude and diabolical customer service. No response to emails, takes a complete month to receive my order when the website said it was in stock. It mysteriously turns up the day after I tell them to cancel my order and refund me. HOWEVER it wasn't what I ordered, totally the wrong Rhododendron with no description label. ....a week later and still no response from customer service. Disgraceful company, total rubbish!

Diseased tree eventually delivered Ordered a peach tree. Delivery took a month and I was ignored when I messaged Gardening Express to ask about my delivery. When my tree arrived it had eaten leaves and was diseased. I have complained but they want more photos and don't want to rectify the problem. Buyer beware. Don't expect a good customer experience.

Dead rose, ignored emails, failed guarantee I ordered a bare-root rose from Gardening Express earlier this year, which completely failed to grow and is now clearly dead. It was supposed to be covered under their Bare Root Guarantee until the end of July. I followed all the proper care steps and provided photo evidence, but after initially responding, they stopped replying to my emails altogether. I've now contacted them multiple times with no resolution. The plant was only £20, but it’s the principle — if they don’t honour their guarantee or respond to customers, how can they be trusted?

1 star is too generous. I will start by saying I've ordered previously and received dwarf fruit trees that are thriving. This was my second order, volcanic tree ferns, despite waiting a good while for delivery, once delivered I was to overlook that. Unfortunately on opening my order it was immediately apparent the ferns were in terrible condition. Despite the soil they were in being very damp the ferns were brown (should be red) crispy and quite obviously dead. I immediately raised a refund/replacement request but still haven't had a response. I re-potted on the advice of the website but my initial instincts were right they are beyond bringing back to life. I can't help thinking the fact the soil was quite wet, they were like this when dispatched?? If you do place an order and need to contact them for any reason, don't expect a response

Placed an order for three items. The delivery took weeks and when the order arrived one item clearly had extensive leaf blotch virus. I emailed with pictures and got a very quick repainse saying I needed to take further images in a specific way. Which I did. I was then completely ignored. I have sent maybe 5 emails and its been about 2 months and still I am completely ignored. Shocking customer service and a company selling plants with virus. Yes They're very cheap. But this is why.
