“Awful experience. Received this plant in a damaged box in a terrible state. I would accept some potential damage/drying in transit, but this was completely unacceptable. Immediately contacted GE with numerous photos who apparently disagreed and felt that this was considered acceptable damage, although it is clearly more than the “odd snapped twig” which they state on their website as acceptable. Now they expect me to return the plant at my own expense. If this is what GE consider to be an acceptable item to sell (and deal with issues in this way”, then they need to reassess their quality control and customer service processes. Absolutely disgusted and will never purchase again. Cant seem to upload pics for some reason.”

“I am absolutely disgusted with the state of the plants. They are tatty, straggly with several damaged leaves. I contacted customer service to complain and was told some damage is expected. What rubbish. I have purchased plants online before and never been disappointed.”

“i paid over 170£ for8 plants according to there glossy photos these looked perfect.but the photos are brochure shots not the sellers my plants took 7 days to arrive half dead and bone DRY///wrapped up in white plastic carrier bagVERY IMPRESSIVE all they kept on about was photos i explained i am 82 and dont have knowledge how to do this.so i would like a photo from them.to show conditionof plants when sent there all dead now.what a wonderful firm.I DONT THINK//////”

“Ordered some trees. One arrived pretty much dead. Planted it and watered it in case it revived. Send them photos within two weeks - they now want me to dig it up and post it to them before they will send out a replacement or give me a refund. Charlatans!”

“have finally received my order of plants after a delayed wait, however, I am disappointed with their condition upon arrival. Unfortunately, the packaging was inadequate, with multiple plants stacked on top of each other. As a result, several of the pots were damaged or split, with soil spilled throughout the packaging. A number of the plants themselves have also been snapped or significantly damaged in transit. Additionally, the outer boxes arrived in a poor condition. Given the overall state of the delivery, I do not feel that the quality meets an acceptable standard or reflects the value of the purchase.”

“Damaged on Arrival & Zero Accountability Absolutely unacceptable experience. The plant arrived with half the pot completely broken off, soil and roots exposed — clearly not transit damage, but packed this way. Customer service refused to take responsibility and instead pushed me to return it at my own cost under their guarantee. I did not order a damaged product. A simple issue turned into a frustrating waste of time. Poor quality control and even worse customer service. AVOID.”

“I bought a "Rhus typhina - Staghorn Suma - Large Specimen 150cm tall" It arrived and was only 1.3m high. It was very wonky, as had been grafted badly onto the side of a stem, and the leaves were falling off (but it was autumn, although I had expected it to be healthier looking). After 2 months of emailing backwards and forwards and numerous photos sent, they finally said the tree could upto 20% shorter than advertised, so there is nothing they could do. I told them the height as soon as I had received the tree, but it took them 2 months of giving me many excuses and finally tell me this. I asked for care guidance for the situation of the plant sitting in my porch for 2 months and there now being snow on the ground. They said I should search their website for care instructions. I said there were none for this situation. They just repeated the same reply. If I want to escalate, I have to write a letter to a postal address.”

“Terrible experience! Received a tree with broken branches and horrendous packaging and despite sending the photos (they asked for specific photos which were impossible to take) they said they won't collect it. They said i have to send the tree back via a courier which is ludicrous as I cannot wrap it as don't have the special machine and the cost would have been higher than my refund was going to be. Terrible company, avoid!”

“I would not buy anything again from this company. It’s a shame there is no facility to add photos. I bought 2 holly trees (advertised as 80cm-1m. The picture shows a bushy lovely tree but what I received was nothing like it. I complained about the size and that is had been hacked they asked me to send proof of the size. Which I did and then they said there could be a 20% tolerance in the size. They are rude to deal with and their customer service is appalling. They asked me to send them back at my own expense even though they were substandard.”

“I ordered 20 plants. Two were dead. I emailed and enailed the company for replacements and was ignored. I am so glad I didnt have a bigger issue because I don't think they will ever respond. If you hand over money to a company with terrible customer service/ mo phone line you are taking a huge risk. I will mot use them again. Please avoid.”

“I've used GE for years and spent £100's; I've had the occasional dud but they always refunded on receipt of photographic proof. Not any more! I received an acer in very poor condition in May. A couple of standardised emails directed me to their return process (at my cost), then I was ghosted. I've sent 4 follow up emails and not had the courtesy of a reply to any of them. Will never use again. Shockingly bad aftersales, discourteous and arrogant”

“I have complained about hebes and roses which have failed to develop. I have used their contact service several times but they have completely ignored me. I despair. It is a dreadful shame because I have received lots of good plants in the past.”

“Trees arrived covered in fungus. Customer service is non-existent. Eventually resorted to a court claim to get our money back but they didn't respond to that either so now the bailiffs are on their way.”
