I wish I have read these reviews before making my purchases 🥲 I ordered two Large Salix Flamingo plans at £39.90 plus £6.99 delivery What I expected was 2 full tall plants of 90 to 1.2m high, which was described in garden express’s website However when it arrived there were two 20cm Salix branches sitting on top of two plans sticks instead This is so disappointed and missed leading, I am buying the full plans and not a grafting cut of 20cm Also there’s some small branches that were broken And to return this I have to pay for shipping. I certainly will not order anymore from Garden Express and warn people to be careful of what they are buying before paying for it.

GARDENERS BEWARE. Plants were very small, very few leaves and very poor quality. When I complained to the company they said they will improve with growing! In my experience you want the best quality plants to begin with. POOR SERVICE. I will not use again.

What cowboys to say the least. Spent over a hundred on plants. They arrived battered, dead, broken stems and dry as.a.bone. no water for transit. They couldn't be saved despite paying over £30 in products to help revive. I contacted gardening express immediately. What a farce.. supply pictures, prove your invoice, etc. despite me providing everything. Then we need to the shipping box. What a load of rubbish. Then ah well we can offer you £20 refund. No love I want a full refund they are dead!! I want a refund. Then radio silence. Ten plus emails sent. Clearly now ignoring all communications. I've reported to trading standards and the ombudsman. STAY CLEAR OF THESE CROOKS. Use other sites like roots plants or the garden centre nearby if you don't want the hassle. I'm happy to provide emails and photographs to prove the poor performance of this disgraceful company. 0 stars would be given if the option were available.

Took weeks for delivery so I had to write multiple emails and then was dumped on my doorstep on a day when I specifically asked for it not to be delivered. Customer service poor. The timings on their website are lies. Refused to give me any sort of refund for the stress and inconvenience. Avoid

Total shambles of a company , order some hedges and a Japanese maple , the hedges and the other little plants looked like the were thrown in the box with no protection whatsoever then to top.it all I ordered a Japanese maple which was covered in brown spot when it arrived , u sent them pics but apparently they couldn't see the spots and asked for more pics , now they have blocked me so I've had to take it up with bank , plus their attitude stinks , avoid at all costs

AWFUL - do not take the risk! The plants you receive are tiny (barely established) and when they arrive are half dead and badly broken. I bought 8 plants, one was a giant daisy for £9.99 (half price apparently) - there was nothing giant about it - you would have got the same in B&Q for £3.99! It had been put in a plastic bag and wedged between two fuschias. Half the (not giant) plant was broken or dead. I raised it with customer services and was advised that it would grow again with the correct care!!! You would be better getting some half dead plants from the local supermarket when they sell them off and seeing if they survive - the sale section where no returns accepted. This is a COWBOY set up and very misleading. Unfortunately it’s not letting me upload the photos on here!

Wish I'd read reviews first instead of wasting money. Plants nothing like shown on website. Poor quality. Can't believe they were 'reduced 'from £15.95 to £6, not even worth that. Saw established trees in B and M for £10, after I'd received these. Certainly not paying postage to return them, cut my losses

Bought mini fruit tree orchard, ( six mini trees ), When delivered five with buds , sixth one no sign of life. Repotted all six , five responding the sixth dead. Gardening Express customer service saying there's no fault on their side so no recompense. When these trees were packed, whoever packed them, must have noticed the dead tree. I'm refused any refund for this tree. I would not recommend Gardening Express for plants and will buy elsewhere in future.

I should have put no star but its impossible. Bought goods worth £120 total 6 plants . Only one survived. Begonia is dead, magnolias delivered without roots, roses same. I put them in the ground hoping for the best but all dried out. No guarantee and refunds. So don't waste your time and money . They are not worth it at all. Please avoid !photos available.

I ordered some Amaryllis bulbs with various other plants. Have used this company for a few years but won’t be using them again. The Amaryllis did not turn up I queried it and as the customer says below you get the third degree but basically they don’t believe you and make it very difficult for you. Won’t ever use again . I am waiting for a small Ofer I placed a couple of days ago . It the delivery guy does not knock on the door open the parcel it will be refused . Two can play this game

Have used this company for years but sadly there standards have declined dramatically x I ordered over £100 worth of plants in the last two months and half of them have been sick or dead x Trying to get replacements or vouchers is so stressful as they continually ask for more photos of the plants as they can’t make out which plants which ( maybe because there dead) and then I sent photos through a garden app that tells the state of the plants and they wouldn’t accept these photos a week had went by so I had binned the plants and then there insisting unless I retake photos no refund will be given x I just gave up and there’s been absolutely no contact to see if they can resolve the issue or why I haven’t sent the photos x Absolutely disgraceful way to treat there customers x Go somewhere else that’s my advice x

Buyer beware! Very poor quality, tiny plants which are not garden ready. They compare very badly to the same plants, ordered from a different nursery. The company asked me to email a second time with photos and then still refused to either replace the plants or refund me. A very poor, substandard nursery which, not surprisingly has very poor reviews!

I Brough three boxes of wildflower seeds on shaking out the seeds all that came out was dust I pulled open box to view 2-3 seeds and this is meant to cover 15m square metres, I got told as box is open they cannot help, but in order to see was to open, I said to return other two they said on this good note we will give me a voucher as a good will, I don't want a voucher I want me refund and the postage I paid for there faulty items, I do not want there other plants as don't plan on buying from them again, they refused to help and said all we can offer is a voucher, what bs is this company about, I am also a landscape garden designer with rewards yet they were telling me to take box and that I have to rake the ground first then lightly cover, would help if was any seeds to cover and not saw dust. 🤔

Money back guarantee is a total waste of time. Ordered a plant in may 2022 (lespedoza)and after six months still looks like a twig nothing like showing on website. Cannot speak to anyone other than a bot. And response is I should have to pay to return it to them would not accept photos. Cost of return is too expensive when you are a pensioner will never use them again

Before I state what happened to us, I would like to point out that anyone receiving an unacceptable or not as described plant should complaint and ask for a refund, and not be fobbed off. Please read "The Consumer Rights Act 2015" article on the MSE site, where this is all explained simply and clearly. If what you have contracted to receive, and what you receive is not broadly similar, then you are entitled to a refund, as the item is "not as described". Don't just shrug it off and let them get away with it! We would have been pleased to discuss and negotiate, maybe a partial refund, but no, Gardening Express had to dig their heels in and be stubborn. This was our experience (Order # 601269159) ............ Awful shopping experience. Ordered Photinia which looked wonderful online. What we received was a pathetic specimen with only 3 small and sparse branches. The top of 1 branch was broken. No means of discussing this with a person, so had to spend 1.5 hrs "chatting" online. Got nowhere - apparently the plant was acceptable and therefore return would have to be at my cost. They would not accept that the item was "not as described" and therefore contravenes the Consumer Rights Act 2015 which states that if an item is not as described, then the seller pays for the return. It was talking to a brick wall, and by this time I had been transferred to the Customer Services Manager !! She told me the plant was a "JUVENILE", and that it would be lovely in a few years time !! I didn't buy a juvenile plant, and if this is normal practice, then the Consumer Rights Act 2015 stipulates that this key information needs to be prominently stated, and not hidden somewhere. She told me that this (the juvenile plant) is clearly stated on the website. I checked and asked where? She refused to answer, clearly a lie. Absolutely ridiculous !! I asked how to raise a complaint, and was told to write a letter. Their motto "refuse to co-operate and make the customer's life as difficult as possible in the hope that they give up" - (most probably do, but I don't and there will be consequences as a result). Naturally, the reply to the complaint was "we will refund", and not even an apology for the 3 hrs I wasted on this matter, plus the frustration of it all. And they did not ask for the plant back, because they knew they would have to bear the cost of this. Never again will I order from Gardening Express, and I will make every effort (online and face to face) to share my experience with other gardeners, family, and friends. This will be a just reward for Gardening Express who treat customers as if they are totally unimportant.
