Absolutely shocking, had to repot all the plants as all loose and damaged, complete waste of money, plants are basically seedlings, complete rip-off.

£80 for a tree that arrived looking very poor quality. Few leaves that were were infested with aphids. Leaves curling up and dying. Not sure how long this tree with last. £80 totally wasted. VERY difficult to contact and discuss the issue.

I bought some plants which arrived mostly in reasonable condition. However, beware the GAURANTEE. The devil is in the detail - if you can find it. This was confusing but customer services reassured me me that a 5ft clematis was covered as it had died over the winter. Well actually it never seemed very alive. I was advised to return it at my own expense. Another payment. But all was not as advised. The plant wasn't covered under the gaurantee it now seems. I wont buy from them again and would urge others not to either.

am writing review here as gardening express post only 5 star reviews on their website. I bought 2 items together, only one item delivered when asked to deliver missing item, refused to re delivered because of their own environment policy , the item delivered was not useful without the other item. Delivery charges £6 not refunded either, order from them only if you are fine with half order delivered.

Absolutely shocking experience with Gardening Express Limited. I placed an order for trees over three weeks ago for a memorial planting, and despite repeated attempts to get an update, my messages and emails have been completely ignored. The only way to “contact” them is through the bots on their website, which are not only unhelpful but come across as patronising when you’re trying to resolve a genuine issue. There is no real customer service just automated responses that go nowhere. To make matters worse, I was eventually sent a tracking number. When I contacted the courier, they informed me they had only received a request to collect the order, but had not actually received the parcel. So effectively, nothing has even been dispatched. This has forced me to reschedule an important memorial planting, causing unnecessary stress and upset for the families involved. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic respect is unacceptable. Overall, a deeply disappointing experience no contact, no transparency, and no customer care whatsoever. I will not be ordering from them again. STILL NO DELIVERY AND TRYING TO GET A REFUND SEEMS POINTLESS

Buyers of. Deals beware!!! I ordered a six bundle pillar fruit tree offer. Only 2 have actually grown the rest were dead when I got them as they never sprouted leaves. When I asked about the 5 yr cover I was told it was a deal and no guarantee!! They obviously knew they were selling bad stock.!!! Instead of having a deal I have two spindly fruit trees that have cost £27.99!!! Very disappointed as I have ordered things before at full price and they’ve been brilliant. I won’t buy from them again nor will I recommend their products . Shameful!

I bought a banana tree from GE, sadly it was diseased with stem rot. I contacted the company and, as they advertise their plants are guaranteed, I felt confident they would either refund or replace. Not so. They informed me that my plant wasn't guaranteed, why, because it had a code not covered by the guarantee, apparently this is explained in the small print. So, this unscrupulous company wriggled out of their responsibility and, after numerous emails with customer service, I got nowhere. Their attitude was arrogant to say the least and very couldn't care less. Avoid and go to a reputable company is my advice. Disgraceful company!!

I have complaint, feel robbed, the plants are of very poor plant quality, wilted and one is dead on arrival and I had extremely slow delivery. The plants are very tiny than what was advertised, very expensive, I feel robbed as plants are dead, dying and wilted. Please beware it’s a real scam they took 16 days to deliver and now asking me to use my money to resend the dead plants!!!

Ordered a bicolour buddelia bush on 8 April that finally arrived on the 21st. I had to laugh when i saw it otherwise I would have cried. A very weak spindley plant that I cannot believe a Company would send to a customer. I am now angry that I unpacked it as would now be difficult to repack. Will put it down to experiance and never order from Garden Express again. They should not be in business. Also will notify the Sun newspaper so hopefully they will inform their readers never to have anything to do with this Company. Giving them a 1 star review is being very generous.

Very slow delivery to start, followed by a delivery of plants that were 5cm-10cm tall where they should have been 40cmx60cm Contact customer support and you have to talk to a AI Bot, no phone number no person just generic reply’s. When I finally got an email from the company 9 days later they ask for what I had already sent as evidence they leave is days respond with can we have the same and we go around in circles finally I’m offered £1 voucher such a joke . AVOID THESE SCAMMERS -

Avoid this Seller – I spent over £350 on my order of various plants, half of which arrived damaged and partly dead, decayed. I immediately contacted the Seller, providing all the information requested, close-up photos etc. evidencing the poor quality, damaged goods – I merely requested a part refund for the items in question with Seller to arrange return. However, Seller categorially refused to honour the Consumer Rights act whereby Seller is responsible for the RETURN POSTAGE costs. This Seller knowingly sent dead / damaged goods on the premise the Customer would not return due to the high return postage costs. Know your rights when purchasing online.

Breaking consumer law - they try to trick you into unpacking plants so they don't have to take them back if they are damaged. Also other unethical practises. My advice: when plants arrive email them to say damaged and rejected. That covers you if you then unpack them and find damage - GE will need to pay for return not you. AVOID

Ordered a whole lot of plants. One of which, a tree arrived dead. They now expect me to find and pay for a courier to return the tree in order to get a replacement. I have sent pictures and they accept that it's dead, but still expect me to post a dead tree back!

Firstly my 10 litre buddleja plant was due to be delivered on Thursday 9th April 2026. DX express were asked to deliver and I waited in all afternoon, and up to 9.00 pm in the evening as the delivery company said it was still on the van. Gardening Express is impossible to contact, so I phoned DX Express in Plymouth next day…..no answer…. but phone call forwarded to their main office. I was then told it was not on the van on Friday either, the reason being that DX Express deliver timed medications! I then complained until it was agreed to deliver the plant on Saturday. Yes that happened! However I had ordered a Buddleja weyerania and the label on the plant says buddleja davidii. The RHS says the latter is invasive, but how do you check with Gardening Express?. AI is all very well as an initial contact but this does not replace good customer service. Most people would prefer to speak to a human!. I will not be ordering from Gardening Express again….all other online nurseries provide contact details, either email or phone, which work well. AI does NOT work.

I am not surprised gardening express has such poor reviews, I paid over £50 for some dead plants and was told there is no warranty or money back, if I could score lower than one star I would quite honestly I feel I’ve been mugged.

6 out of 7 plants I bought arrived badly damaged. The 7th had one snap taking 50cm off height of a large jasmine. More than half of the stems on every hellebore and dicentra plant were snapped. There was not a single bloom or bud on the remaining stems and all but one broken stem which had 2-3 wilted blooms of dicentra. My order was sent out on the Thursday before the 4 day easter break, delivering to me on Tuesday. The condition of the plants were awful - wilted, dry, every single plant broken. I have reached out to gardening express but they will not accept that these plants have more than “minor damage” and will “perk up” within 2-4 weeks?!

You cannot get hold of them - there is no number to speak to anyone. I never leave a bad review but I am so incredibly frustrated. It has been 7 days of being told it will be delivered and talking on the phone to delivery company and being told yesterday they garantee it will be this morning, to be told this morning that is has been sent back to sender due to damage? I have tried to get hold of gardening express and to my emails they respond with a a generic email answering nothing, telling me to not email more than once. This was a Mother’s Day gift and I have missed work waiting around for it to be delivered. I have never known such terrible customer service. Do not buy I can’t get hold of anyone to get a refund and I have missed mornings of work
