Terrible company. They haven’t deliver big part of my order. I kept writing them but never heard anything back. Do NOT buy!

Received a plant one month late. It arrived nearly dead (subsequently died). Only had one response and that was to ask me if I was sure it was dead! Then, for the last 2 months they have ignored all messages by email and online contact form (no telephone lines!). This is the behaviour of a scam website and I have been ripped off by nearly £50. Next stop is Trading Standards.

Would leave no stars only the two plants I did receive were nice if in substantially damaged packaging. Four plants not received by us and we were informed that they had been returned by courier beaut damage in transit. Several emails and two months later almost still waiting for refund on plants not received. Company has gone silent on me. I spent 97 pounds, it’s enough to lose.!!! Horrendous customer service!!!

They sent me dead plants and they don’t respond back to sort out the problem. They take your money and you are left out of pocket

Ver poor quality plant sent,says on there web page under Plant quality statement that " all plants are continuously being check for the quality prior to shipping and regularly inspected by defra for pest and disease" they must be sleep working for the state of the plant sent to me

I took delivery of a 5-6ft Clematis Alpina in very poor condition. Date on delivery note in box confirmed it had been boxed up for 8 days without light & water before it arrived. Reported my complaint to Gardening Express via there in-line firm but never heard back. £80 down the drain. Avoid using Gardening Express at all costs!

They failed to deliver most of the items in my order and have failed to reply to repeated requests for a refund. They simply do not reply to their online forms (which is the only way to contact them). I am still trying to get a refund seveal weeks after placing my order and am now reporting them to Trading Standards. Awful company and a rip-off organisation - they should not be allowed to trade.

Acer came in loose soil and roots are not connected to dry soil, leaves are dry or burnt, delivery was not at the time suggested, one plant was not delivered, pots all hydrangeas had not flowers as at was on photos. Very unhappy. Avoid the company . Its not good at all. I spent a lot of money in vain Tanya B

Terrible customer service which has turned non existent. Spent around £130. Waited ages for delivery. Lavender practically dead. Plant in smaller than advertised pots. Other plants were fairly small in general. One had brown leaves. Complained, had an initial response 21st June, asking me for details, I responded quickly with their required answers. Nearly 3 weeks later I have heard nothing back and am left with 2 plants which I can't throw/plant or return because I've had no response.

I have had good plants and service for a few years from Gardening Express, however, this year is really bad. I ordered plants and an arch on 10 June and only one of my plants has arrived and it is 8 July. I have emailed twice and no response back. I don't know what has changed this year but they need to let people know if there is a problem, not leave us hanging. I will not buy from them again.

I’ve been a customer for a while and it has been mostly ok. But latest order arrived - only part delivered, badly packed, damaged and dead. I’ve sent photos and no response. Shall not buy again.

Only part order turned up after a long wait, not got the rest of it, 90% of the plants are dead, no response from customer service, if there is any? £143 totally wasted, avoid avoid avoid

I had a large expensive order but three plants arrived in very poor condition one was dead, the other two were so badly packaged the stems were all broken off. I complained and was told to water them. I duly watered them they of course were still dead and all the stems remained broken. I emailed again but no reply. I wrote a letter to the owner but he has never had the curtsy to reply. I am very disappointed at their very poor customer service. I have had no refunds for any of the three useless plants . I had spent a lot of money and I have never had such poor customer service from a garden company. In contrast Thomson and Morgan delivered one plant that was not in good condition but they replied to my email immediately and refunded me immediately, their service was excellent unlike Garden Express who never bothered to reply to my letter or emails. Thomson and Morgan’s customer service was excellent and I had a refund in less than 24 hours . You judge a company on how well they handle when you have a problem with the product.

Still waiting for an order placed on 28th May, now 26th June, completed the contact forms and sent numerous emails had no response. Do not buy from Garden Express!!

This outfit must be the most incompetent and uncaring online garden centre in the country I've placed orders with them before and it's been hit and miss, whenever I send them an email asking where my purchases are they always send me a standard curse reply which provides no current info. I ordered a fushia plant on the 14th May, they had my money and I heard nothing until 6th June when they advised me it was on its way - never arrived - after a number of unanswered replies to my emails - nothing,no acknowledgement no replies from them at all.On the 24th June after another email I forwarded to them finally got a reply- they don't know when they will be able to send the plant and can't give me a delivery date. They are so so unprofessional, customer service is non existent,take your money and delay in supplying the plants they advertise - by months. AVOID

My collection of plants were completely squashed, one so badly that it was almost a ball of slime. I have nurtured the rest but two more have since died. Via email, I was asked to send photos, I did this twice but am still awaiting a further response. It’s been some weeks now and still nothing. I really have been dissatisfied with the quality of the plants but I have to say this was mainly due to the poor packaging. I am appalled at the lack of customer service. Please be very cautious about ordering from this company.

Absolutely terrible company, have bought from these twice now and never again! First time, the plant arrived and looked half dead but we managed to save it and put it down to a ‘one off’. Second time, ordered a supposedly ‘rare, unusual’ clematis (we saw some a few days later at the local garden centre) which was not only expensive but again arrived in a dreadful state looking half dead. Once more we tried to salvage it but this time it never recovered, we contacted customer services expecting a full replacement especially as we’d only had it just over three weeks and was supposedly covered by a guarantee. We provided photographs of the obviously dead and dried up plant only to be asked, by Liam, to send more photos as ‘was hard to tell’ he then told us we needed to post back the dead plant (at our own expense) before they’d post a new one to us. I asked for clarification that we had to send back the dead plant at our own expense and what was the point, only to never receive any more communication. My advice, steer clear of this tinpot company and support your local garden/plant centre instead, you’ll not only receive fresher plants without the expensive postage costs but you’ll no doubt get much better customer service should you encounter a problem. Avoid!
