They are okay. That's about it. I chose them because they were the cheapest. Quarterly rewards are nice but I'd rather just pay less from the start. Their telematics ibox system is annoying too, I get 10/10 on speed and driving but my score goes down because of driving on motorways. Apparently you need a break every hour to stay safe, if that was the case my journeys would take hours.

Cheaper car insurance than a previous insurance. However it takes a long time to get through to them over the phone, I waited 35 minutes before I got through. Once I did, the person I spoke to was 'um and ar ing' and didn't seem to know what he was talking about.

Far too expensive paying £2700 for a 1.4 polo direct line can do it for £1300 and carrot only told me about the black box after I payed

Very good insurance company, however always charge me for my usage which then brings my driving score down which means I loose out on claiming more money each month other than that brilliant insurance company.

THINK VERY CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS COMPANY. I took out insurance for my son with Carrot. They use technology similar to black box. After about 6 weeks they advised my son they were cancelling his insurance due to his bad driving. I phoned them-30 minutes to get through. They said that someone would phone me back. Nobody bothered. I emailed them. They didn't bother to respond. They wrote to my son confirming they were cancelling his insurance but also sent him a bar of chocolate for his good driving!. He had to take out insurance with another company and disclose he had had a policy cancelled which inflated the premium, A week after Carrot had supposedly cancelled his policy they made contact and said it had all been a mistake and that he was still insured with Carrot. Absolutely disgraceful service from this bunch of cowboys. Their response when we tell them we do not wish to stay with them - the offer of £50 for "inconvenience". Do yourself a favour pay a little bit more and use a reputable insurance company

I had some issues with getting my official driving licence through after I passed my test and carrot accepted my paper pass certificate until I received it. They where very helpful on the phone and left notes on their system about me so if I had to call again they would know exactly what was going on and pick up the conversation from there without explaining my situation too thoroughly over again.

Overall good insurer, whenever I call I always seem to sit on hold for about 20 minutes but other than that can't really say much with regards to customer service! The I-box is a bit weird, and no matter how well I drive my scores are always 8.42 due to usage(?) The rewards are really good however and the discount at renewal is a real encouragement to drive well!

I have been with carrot for coming up to two years now and my god how I love it! The rewards I get back is amazing especially now that I have a newborn baby the extra money a month really helps! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that when I call up I'm on hold for a good 20-30 mins and that's hard with a newborn xx

How have carrot made me happy? Apart from having my car insured that's about it. Black box is never accurate. Will be leaving after this year.

The app is easy to use and shows you the driving scores as well as the reward you can earn. What i found with the box, is that if you are driving to slow (under limit) e.g. In a 30 zone you're doing 25 then the score isn't 100%. It tends to pick it up if you're hesitating. I stay at 28,29 mph

Just got my black box today , so far so good. Came to my work place as I was very busy. So thanks to that, trying to fit things in when you work full time is hard .
