“Please read this review. Personally, I do recommended Carrot to young drivers and people with a lower income, but make sure you pick your policy right. Calculate the miles you need, then add an extra 1000, just for safety. I am giving Carrot a 3. I have not had a single problem with them. I had a very serious accident in my 2012 Corsa with my previous insurance company and only being 17 I struggled to find somewhere with cheap insurance. Everyone is drew into Carrot insurance as the price is so cheap, but there are some hidden charges. I am only in my first quarter and the box predicts i am going to go over 8000 miles. It's £150 per 1000 miles, which I feel is a lot of money. They say 'no time curfews' but if you drive between 11pm and 5am it does mark your score down. You can also only make 7 journeys a day and can't drive longer than an hour if you are trying to improve your score. Overall, I think Carrot is great, I like the idea of having my score whenever I want to see it and it's cheap (which is always a bonus) and you get rewarded on your driving. If you check your score on a computer you can also see how to improve which I think is great!”

“Carrot insurance I believe is good overall because it shows quick and easy scores and through the carrot insurance app it can allow you to keep track of how you are driving and the miles you are completing, the only negative I would say about carrot insurance is a few times they have calculated that my usage is poor even though when I rang up they explained that the insurance wouldn't include me driving at night as I play football late at night therefore due to me playing football at night it decreases my rewards and overall driving score”

“these scumbags sold my daughter a policy with 3000 miles limit for £1300 allthough she told them she would be living at home in oxford but mainly at universty in north wales a 500 mile round trip yet the rep she dealt with failed to explain to her that this policy was totally and utterly unsuitable as she would need double or maybe trebble that amount of mileage , bear in mind she had just passed her test ,was 18 years old and obviously had no idea of what she needed ,within two months she used up those miles and had to purchace 1000 extra miles at a cost of £150 then within a few weeks they said shed used almost 900 of these miles she was devastated and knew shed not even done 50 miles ,we then had to spend many hours calling them and waiting on hold only to be fobbed off, treated like an idiot , and getting no help at all ,eventually they admitted stealing nearly 900 miles from her saying it was a simple error but as yet many weeks later offered no explanation or evidence of where the miles went these people are thieving dogs and i advise everyone to steer well clear of them”

“Great service, when I wanted to change my insurance to another car there was no problem, it was done very quickly and for a small administration fee, the box was fitted quickly too all over a great company would definitely recommend”

“I think Carrot Insurance offer good/cheap cover and this is great for new drivers. I do think that having a policy in which it only covers you for a certain amount of miles is ridiculous however. Carrot should be monitoring my driving style (speed, cornering and acceleration), not how often I drive.”

“I haven't had any problems with carrot. I have called them up several times about issues with paper work which were fixed immediately. The telematics I have fitted allows for very free driving without impacting my driving score much at all. Would strongly recommend carrot to anyone.”

“I rang customer services about a problem I have been having with the smartbox. guy said he would speak to the technicians and ring me back a few hours later in the day. 2 weeks later im still sitting without a phonecall, a voicemail or email. RUBBISH CUSTOMER SERVICE”

“I personally believe that this is a really good company , however I think that the breakdown Serivce they offer should be 24 hours available to their customers. I also love how easy it is to call up carrot and ask for help with any issues I may have and it will be dealt with straight away and therefore leave me feeling positive about my insurance. I think the idea of the app is perfect, as I'm the type of person that is always on my phone and it is a fast and easier way for me to check my driving style and therefor ensure that I'm making all the required measurements I need to keep my over all number high . I even told my friends to sign up with this company but we struggled to do the refer a friend thing , and as a result of this , I was unable to get the £30 thing that Carrot is currently doing , so I would say maybe make it a bit more easier for future customers to be able to get this deal and understand how it works . Apart from that , I actually love this company !”

“Don't be tempted by the seemingly low price! Ridiculous charges may occur, bonus system is flawed to give lowest possible payout, encourages walking alone in unsafe areas at night to save your "score" takes points off every time you go over a country road, absolutely horrendous and I'll be glad when I've got my 1 years NCD so I can leave!”
