Not had to make a claim so can't comment on service but their drive sure app is awful. Can't get the score above 50. Tells me I'm driving on dangerous rds. It's a quiet residential street thst I live on but classed as dangerous! I also live at the top of a steep rd but it tells me I brake too much. Tells me I'm speeding. I deliberately kept at 20 to see if I vould improve score!! Nope! Not as accurate as black boxes

While at work my car was hit in a carpark last December. All details were passed onto Churchill. They have been a nightmare for almost 7 months to get this rectified. It took them 3 months to get the car into a garage and do an initial “quick check” they then said it was too much to repair (a dented sill) and made an offer on the car that was ridiculous. Once they acknowledged that I could not replace car for offer and agreed it was strange to be making offers on “maybe” there is more damage they agreed to get car looked at again! I was then told that damage was too severe. I took car to local trusted mechanic who said this is not true. Once my sill is fixed (which should not be a problem for a bodywork specialist) it will as always sail through its MOT. I had to contact Churchill as I had not heard from them since putting car into their garage. I was told they would get back before June 20th. They sent an email saying they are looking at claim in July! My car is due an MOT in under 2 weeks, I cannot MOT it till they have fixed it. This has been almost 7 months of stress, inconvenience and poor customer service for a dented sill!!!

Unlike most reviews on this site, this is based on having used the service, and not a review of how easy it was to buy the insurance. (Of course the make it straightforward and simple to take your money….) After 10 months into the policy I needed to claim as someone drove into the back of me. The process to report the claim was straightforward. But then I needed to update the claim. Their line is only open 9-5 on weekdays and there is always a 30+ min wait queue. They offer a call back service but that’s not convenient for my work. Having eventually got through - they said they’d notify the garage and arrange for the garage to contact me to arrange repair. Nothing. So I had to call up again. They blamed a glitch in the system and said they’d make sure it happened this time. But no, they didn’t, and it’s now 4 weeks since the incident and the garage still hasn’t been in touch and I have to ring up yet again. To really put the icing on the cake they’ve sent through a renewal quote for next year. Last year’s premium was £414. The renewal quote is £1050. None of my personal circumstances have changed. Absolutely ridiculous. I went with Churchill because I thought I’d be better off paying a bit more for better service. How wrong was I. Avoid them

Contacted Churchill regarding a failed payment for my car insurance waited 3/4 hour on the phone before being transferred and disconnected. Day two waited nearly 1 1/2 hrs before eventually sorting out my full payment . VERY VERY FRUSTRATING

I would not take out insurance with your company every again. I took out van insurance last year with you . I did over the phone and payed over the phone. Never noticed ontill the renewal, that I was only covered for 100 miles per year. Who in there right mind would even bother taking out insurance if you only drove 100 miles. So actually I was not covered for the year at all. I was lucky nothing happened. You say all calls are recorded but you seem to not remember me telling you the adverage miles was 10,000. Have been emailing over the last week but you wouldn't say you were wrong and take responsibility. But I will persue this matter ontill I am satisfied.

Would not go near them. A semi-truck hit my car last year, they admitted fault. AXA (the lorrys insurer) admitted fault and paid the claim in full. However, Churchill left the claim open for a further 6 months plus and then when they finally closed it after repeated calls from myself, they closed it as a FAULT claim. Useless, stay well away.

My wife had a bump for bump accident in an Aldi car park ,but we didn’t report it as the only damage to the car was a smashed plastic cover on the rear fog lamp which only cost us £35.00 to replace but the 3rd party reported the incident ,there couldn’t have been much damage done to there car by breaking a plastic cover, there excess would surely cover the damage, they said it was bump for bump and took 50%from my account to pay for it,but 50% of zero I would be zero , This company is corrupt, devious, lying, unproffesional, they didn’t return calls after promising they would, the so called Customer Relations department is nothing but a big joke and should be retrained on how to deal with the public. Then during this fiasco our premium was due so they doubled it from £189 to £374 ,so in my view that is extortion ,and to make matters worse the 3rd party was also insured by CHURCHILL insurance company which complicated matters . SO TO ALL FUTURE and EXISTING policy holders BEWARE if you have a bump or an accident ,you cannot trust them to do the right thing, they just cause Stress and strain and sleepless nights, they have no consideration for peoples feelings. It’s about time something should be done to stop them

Two years ago Churchill informed me that they would take off the incident which occurred in December 2020 due to the fact that Churchill was of no help whatsoever and I paid for my own car repairs which I actually stated from the outset. I reiterated this to T….. but she has refused to delete this which leaves me with no option but to file a complaint with the financial ombudsman seeking compensation for the high premiums which I am paying now due to your incompetence. She has stated that this should not affect my premiums but indeed my premiums have doubled through no fault of my own and insurance companies are querying this incident. I spoke to J…. today and tried to get through to T…….but even J…. was unable to get through to anybody In his own company. You obviously do not have enough staff to pick up the phones to deal with customers As I have spent the whole morning to no avail and phones ringing and ringing with no pick-up. I have also been informed by other insurance companies that there is something regarding an incident on 2018 and 2019 to which I do not know anything about but these were submitted by you Churchill is refusing to rectify this matter despite being told two years ago that this Incident would be deleted from my insurance car policy record

Policy is no more than a sham this so called insurance company couldn't care less about your safety your families safety whether you have an unsafe car or not 4 weeks just for an engineer to even view the car no offer of a courtesy car just a half hearted lie you might pay taxis I very much doubt it it's delay tactic after delay tactic of utter nonsense including a woeful phone service and pointless WhatsApp chat please do not insure anything with this company you will regret it if anything goes wrong they simply couldn't care less .....

DriveSure App is absolutely terrible. Gives ridiculously inaccurate scores. Marks you down for roads you drive and time of day - as if we can choose these things every journey. Also seems to pick small parts of overall journey to mark. Really terrible.

My 77 year old father's old Kia had to go into the garage for 2 months to have some major repairs. So due to the cost of living crisis he called Churchill to ask if he could suspend his insurance whilst the car was in the garage. The girl he spoke with informed him that normally you can but they were experiencing a technical issue so his best option was to cancel and reinstate. So he cancelled. In December he called back to reinstate his insurance. He had his renewal letter £272 but over the phone they said the renewal was £670!! He was very upset so I called back for him thinking there must have been some clerical error. Nope. I got a patronizing idiot on the phone who was telling me that I didn't understand underwriters. I told him that I did and that NOTHING in my Dad's circumstances had changed to warrant such a massive hike. I also pointed out that he had only cancelled his insurance because of their technical hitch which would not allow him to suspend. They did nothing.Disgusting behaviour and an outrageous way to treat an old man.

They doubled my insurance premium when it came to renewal, however on comparisons website they came out the cheapest by over £400 for the same car. All because I claimed on my windscreen the year before and they increased my premium despite saying it wouldn't affect my policy.

Within two days of my accident my car was assessed by the garage and I was told would be written off. BUT over three weeks later the engineers still haven’t looked at the report from the garage and I’m without a vehicle. I am allowed a courtesy car if my car is repairable but as it’s likely to be written off I’m not allowed one in the meantime. I was originally informed it could be up to 14 working days before I hear either way. Then told it would be up to 20 working days and on my recent call I was told I was previously given the wrong information and it’s now 36 days before I’m informed either way! In the meantime they don’t seem to care what the delay has on my life or my family. Getting to work, childcare for grandchildren, supporting a parent with dementia - it’s all causing immense stress and worry. It’s not the customers’ fault that they don’t have enough staff to deal with their caseload. Dreadful service; avoid like the plague!

I filed a no-fault claim. After two weeks, the car is still not in a position to be repaired. Due to the fact that it is a high-end vehicle, I contacted two recommended garages. There were estimates provided by both. It was not possible to get an authorization from Churchill insurance because they did not reply to the garages. I received a defective replacement car from Auxillis, their "only" supplier (engine failed - oil needed to be changed). I would never recommend this insurer.

Avoid like the plague: 1. Claim process is as clear as mud to the point they are deliberately deceiving you. 2. When an accident happens they will hire substandard pick up services and garages. Takes ages to get picked up and repair the car if they bother at all. 3. Getting a courtesy car is like getting blood out a stone. 4. They will drag out returning your no claims discount, all the while claiming they have a crack team of solicitors on when it reality they are doing nothing. Don't expect to see your money for over 6 months.
