Waited for 28 minutes then eventually spoke to someone to change and renew my car insurance, they said to change details I had to go through to sales grrrr! I waited another 20 minutes, and realised life is too short, I lost the will, hung up and found Hastings Essential and was covered in 30 minutes (and at a cheaper price). I've been with Churchill for 10+ years. If improvements are made, I might return in 2024. We will, see? Gra. C

Called to receive NCB proof as it's not readily available on the app!! 25 minutes waiting on the phone then finally discussed NCB Proof required. Not able to email. Can only be sent via post or it can go to the app after 24 hours - very slow compared with other insurance who and can send it within a moments notice!!

Long Wait Times and Unacceptable Extra Fees Tried to cancel my policy online but it wasn't allowed. Had to call them to cancel. Waited 38 minutes on hold. Got through and cancelled my policy for a £53.76 admin fee. The total call length with the representative was 2 minutes and 16 seconds. A huge waste of time and money for a simple task. Wouldn't recommend or choose again.

I was committed to continue with my previous company but absolutely unprofessional customer services. Just I moved to new house which is more secure in security point of view. They increased my insurance more than I expected. So, they lost a customer like me.

Fine until you try to claim! I Was disconnected 3 separate x whilst awaiting agents to return with relevant info. Had to provide claim info afresh every time. Spent a whole afternoon trying to book in a claim to get fixed after a non/fault accident then I had to find a garage myself

Claim process took forever which in turn made me lose out on driving my car for 3 months, and they’re not willing to reimburse or extend my insurance policy for that time. Also communication is poor!

Sadly, another website with virtual assistants and you can never get to talk to anyone or leave your number. I am very suspicious of any insurance company that hides behind chat lines and virtual assistants. It must be nightmare actually taking out a policy or discussing it. I long for the days when an insurance agent called to see you in person.

We have been insured by Churchill for three years now, in previous years we have been happy but in an accident my wife just had that was not her falt the operator that spoke to her showed no sympathy and even insinuated that my wife was at falt. The insurance company of the lady my wife had the accident with phoned her up to check she was ok and admitted liability. They have taken our car to be fixed because Churchill said we have to pay excess, but they admitted liability. We have chased and chased Churchill and still they have not phoned us. They then turned up to collect the car we havent arranged with them. We still dont know what's going on their end. Night and day between the two companys. Very disappointing service and an un sympathetic employees. Wont be renewing.... Mr C Richards

I had 2 months left on my policy when I purchased a new car. I called Churchill to cancel my policy. I was charged nearly £50 to cancel my policy which was around the same price as keeping the policy running. I feel exploited as I’m paying for a service I am getting. Buyer beware.

Biffa refuse lorry hit my car on 8/1/19 and immediately admitted liability. I asked if I could choose a Kia approved repair centre but was told by Churchill call handler that I had to use one of their approved repairers DLG Auto Services who I've now been told is owned by them. To be fair that kicked in straight away. However I sought advice from Kia who told me that legally I could request to have my car repaired by a Kia specialist. So stopped the pick up from Churchill's option and told them the name of the body repair specialists where I wanted my car to go. Now they seem to be dragging their heels on the referral which I've been told could take another week on the basis they are dealing with a back log which isn't really my problem, I've paid my insurance premium and expect to be dealt with equally regardless of who does the repairs ! Also had to justify the need for a courtesy car despite paying a premium for this and my insurance documents stating a courtesy car is guaranteed. This did though arrive the next day so I'm happy with that aspect. Written confirmation from the 3rd party's insurers wasn't enough for Churchill to waive my excess for a non-fault accident and required a verbal conversation with the insurer which wouldn't have happened had I not pushed Churchill to make the call. On the face of it Churchill offer a two-tier service based on whether you use their own repair centres or a repairer of your own choosing.

Excellent company & policies until the most recent one taken out. Please be careful. We had an overlap on a proof of no claims due to having a policy on another car which we were selling. Because the car didn't go back on the same day as the new policy started and the previous insurance company did not send the proof of no claims for 3 weeks Churchill firstly said they hadn't received proof even though we had email confirmation of this. Then after saying all was ok on 13th September we received a letter saying they were cancelling our policy. I rang again and have had to pay a further £6.72 due to the lapse. Pity I wasn't told this when insuring the car. Quick enough to take the money for the policy in full though. Really not impressed..
