Absolutely useless!! My bike got stollen in June and I'm still having to ring them up to see what's going on an all I get told is they will ring me back in a few days, 2 weeks go by and I then have to ring back to get told the same again! When my policy runs out I deffinatly won't be renewing it! Again absolutely useless wouldn't recommend to anyone!

Terrible to deal with. Unhelpful customer service staff, rip-off admin charges and zero flexibility around changes to policies. Avod if possible, I will be in future.

If we could give less than one star we would; MCE has given us nothing but headache, frustration and a huge phone bill since dealing with them. I would strongly advise any consumer to pay that little bit extra for a 'legitimate' company who are competent and efficient. In the first instance my partners vehicle was stolen and recovered by the police; damage to the bike did not appear significant and was a repairable project (advised by mechanic friend), MCE agreed to take the bike into storage over night (later said this would be at our expense), then remove the bike from said storage to take it without permission to Bristol from Plymouth to a salvage yard, they then moved the bike (again with NO consent) to Doncaster 500 MILES AWAY, we were given no indication of this happening until after the bike was moved and were told if we wanted the bike back we would have to pay the storage costs and for the travel back to Plymouth. From this point onwards we called daily for a progress report , to be told on day one 'it's probably a total loss', on asking who had inspected the vehicle we were advised no one but it looks 'that way' (there was very little visible damage aside from the damaged steering lock, so without inspecting the bike its hard to see how they came to that conclusion). after over A MONTH it was confirmed to be a total loss, but MCE refused to disclose a list of potential repairs until the ombudsman was mentioned, we then received a very repetitive and 'cobbled together' list of repairs; not a headed paper by the garage works list like requested/expected like other insurers. In brief we have been waiting in excess of three months for a written off vehicle claim to be settled and still have no sign of the promised funds; we call daily for an update on the progress to be told various stories by members of staff who just cant wait to get you off the phone. stories such as the manager will release the funds, we require additional documentation, there has been a delay due to the bank holiday, the manager who deals with this is unfortunately unavailable, we'll call you back with an update etc. etc. All of which has still got us no further to having the settlement. On one occasion my partner was verbally abused by a member of staff who to end the call properly. We were made aware by the ombudsman that the underwriters of MCE's policies La Parissienne assurance, were not regulated by the FCA either, which if informed of this the policy never would have been purchased. Its worth being aware that staff seem to have very little product knowledge on the policies they sell, you can call numerous times reference the same issue and receive a multitude of responses. Although a long winded review this is only a BRIEF history of our issues with MCE, we are at present seeking legal advice on the matter. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

My rating is really around the claims handling department. Immensely frustrating process. No updates provided directly by MCE. Almost impossible to make progress with the claim, even on the rare occasion that someone answers the phone. Would not use again even if the price was competitive. Not worth the hassle.

Taken a policy out. Use the company for 4 months and cancelled due too selling my motorbike. Did NOT get the full amount back for the rest of the policy only a percentage! Also customer service was poor, the manager wasn't helpful either!

I bought insurance for my bike online then it started they rung me to say i didn't have enough cover on my breakdown so they charged me more money ok I thought then I broke down when I rung them they said I didn't have a policy so my bike was stranded over night before this was resolved and yes the worst is still to come. On the 26th June my bike was stolen from my path the police found it and I rung the insurance company then my problems have begun I am still awaiting payout from them this was my loved and cherished zzr600 which had new end cans on tyres etc they offered me £850 pounds after I had chased them for two weeks due to then not sending over the engineers report I was promised phone calls back I never got them. I wasn't happy with this offer as anyone could imagine £850 for a zzr 600 on an r plate so they asked me to send some examples over to them which I did waited another ten days no phone call so had to chase them again and you guessed it once again they had not passed over the examples saying I had sent them to the wrong email address so I resent them to the new email address then another 10days passed by nothing rang them once again there was a problem they hadn't sent the examples I was promised a phone call within 3 days never happened rang them today they have offered me £870 less my excess of £550 so leaving me £295 I asked them how much to by my bike back £350 they quoted so all in all I have been robbed twice and have spent a fortune on phone calls this started on the 26th June 2015 now it's the 21st August 2015 I would never recommend this insurance company avoid it like the plague not a very happy Karl Reynolds never to buy an insurance policy again from these robbing no good idiots that call themselves an insurance company

Dreadful! Only good reviews on website none of any other! Look at Facebook page 1* reviews cut of after 25 mins in que on many occasions never spoke to anyone with any knowledge of my claim, supposed to have curtesy bike never received one always promised someone will be dealing with my case or ringing me back. Have they? Never! Still waiting beyond a joke for a service I have paid and continued to pay poor poor customer care would not recommend to any one ever. Now having to go through a solicitor!!

MCE gave a very competitive quotation for my first 1000cc bike, they also made a follow up call to ensure my excess and no claims we're also covered. If the price is right I will certainly be staying with them from November at 1st renewal.

Very poor excuse for an insurance company. After 4 years of policies with them they have changed my policy mid term and charging me £60 for the pleasure when the error is with them. Avassive action recommended.

Not satisfied with service and the way of dealing with customer is unacceptable. Declined to give me new policy because my car price is more than 15000 pound I didn't understood the logic behind this. Not stated clearly the reason for decline.

Had insurance with MCE for over two years on a Honda CBR600. Unfortunately I came off my bike on a slippery roundabout a few months back which resulted in my bike suffering enough damage to be written off. According to MCE it was written off as a Category D the following day however it still took them over 4 weeks to notify me and 6 weeks to settle the claim. After sending off all the requested paperwork I received the settlement quite quickly. Yet I have still yet to receive any form of acknowledgment from them or the DVLA (they requested the full V5 with yellow part signed). Onto the "Protective Equipment" cover. I was wearing a full two piece leather suit and Gore-tex boots. These suffered significant damage whilst protecting me. I noticed that I had this cover so decided to make a claim against it. The total cost of my leathers and boots was around £600 yet digging into the policy it turns out that I was only covers for £350. Oh yes, they also take £100 excess meaning the total amount of any claim will be £250. So I sent all the requested documents, photos and receipts to MCE. 2 months later and I had still not heard anything back from them. Apparently they were conducting "Market Research" despite me providing them with several quotes for like for like replacements. Anyway, finally get an offer come through of £204 which I promptly declined. £204 for nearly £600 worth of leathers! Absolute joke and I advise anyone to avoid their "Protective equipment" policy as it's not worth the paper its written on. I have since lodged a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman regarding this and are awaiting their outcome.

This company is terrible! To get any reasonable priced insurance for my motorbike they charge £1050 excess. I had my bike stolen and returned so i made a claim.MCE took my bike to be assessed a day later. From then for 2 weeks i have called them daily for an update with being kept on hold 30mins a time to a 0871 number and the only response being .. We are waiting for the engineer report call back tomorrow.. I have been calling back tomorrow for 2weeks i have no transport and dont know where i stand. This is not a good insurance company atall avoid at all costs
