I’ve had MCE for the last 3 years and I’ve never had any problems with them there always polite on the phone and make things clear I would recommend mce to fellow true bikers not moped riders

Am having exactly the same problems as earlier posts in addition they apparently lost the bike for 6 weeks. they have been taking money for a excess insurance policy which I'm sure is probably a scam in the first place...then they denied that I had this and sent me a payment schedule which shows that I'm paying £10 less than I actually am and my bank statements prove this! (can't say if this is a doctored certificate or a genuine admin error) but anyway they are refusing to pay out against it...when you phone you get lie after lie but can't actually speak to the person dealing directly with it...worst company ever dealt with been going on since July and is now with the ombudsman who unfortunately doesn't seem to be doing a lot of onbudsmaning...got 7 days before I take them to court....should look at a class action I reckon

Been With MCE For 2yrs Now. Had no problems with them at all. Just renewed my policy With them And Got a Brilliant policy. Excellent Communication From Mark. Keep up the Good work

Modern day highway robbery . Lies and delaying tactics rude staff very bad insurance Co . Worse I've had in 40 years of motorcycle insurance. Do not use as will cost you dear if you have to claim .seems good when you get a cheap quote . Pay more get treated better there robbing ----

First year with mce quick and easy very helpful hope I can win v.i.p at British super bikes this year will be renewing with them next year very reasonable price and breakdown too!

Very poor, had to make a claim due to motorbike being stolen, they just dragged their heels, you have to deal with their contractors for salvage/repairs because they dont bother and even they have no clue what is going on. Cant get hold of claims handler, she just avoids my calls. Absolutely useless.s my bike has sat in a compound for three months waiting for an engineers report!!!

Been with MCE for 1 year and renewed my policy and then cancelled after 1 hour to be told there was a cancellation fee which I was not told when I set up the policy then to be told that I was when they listened to the call my policy had not even started. I also found the advisers very rude and abrupt. THIS IS THE LAST COMPANY I WOULD RECOMMEND I HAVE BEEN IN THE MOTOR TRADE FOR OVER 12 YEARS AND NEVER COME ACROSS A COMPANY LIKE THIS VERY VERY POOR. Also I am paying £85 more with a reputable company.

Only gave 1 star because I HAD to to leave a review. Ongoing claim,(over two months now). Settlement offer accepted 6 weeks ago, despite being told payment within a couple of weeks on website. Kit cover, top to toe, despite being paid for on the same policy at the same time, I am now told is a separate claim! Good luck to anyone who has to make a claim, you'll have your work cut out and lots of obstacles put in your way. Be interested to see if this ends up on review page. Don't do it!????

Worst insurance company ever. No communication then when u call they lie to u. In my case I have been told about 10 times different dates for my claim an past from pilar to post. 3 months now and still not sorted my issue all I have been told for the last 3 weeks now is ur payment is waiting to be validated and authorised and I can't get my bike back till it has been. I have emails saying that this would been done 3 weeks ago that week an when ye phone still nothing just past about even more. Would not recommend to any1

If we could give less than one star we would; MCE has given us nothing but headache, frustration and a huge phone bill since dealing with them. I would strongly advise any consumer to pay that little bit extra for a 'legitimate' company who are competent and efficient. In the first instance my partners vehicle was stolen and recovered by the police; damage to the bike did not appear significant and was a repairable project (advised by mechanic friend), MCE agreed to take the bike into storage over night (later said this would be at our expense), then remove the bike from said storage to take it without permission to Bristol from Plymouth to a salvage yard, they then moved the bike (again with NO consent) to Doncaster 500 MILES AWAY, we were given no indication of this happening until after the bike was moved and were told if we wanted the bike back we would have to pay the storage costs and for the travel back to Plymouth. From this point onwards we called daily for a progress report , to be told on day one 'it's probably a total loss', on asking who had inspected the vehicle we were advised no one but it looks 'that way' (there was very little visible damage aside from the damaged steering lock, so without inspecting the bike its hard to see how they came to that conclusion). after over A MONTH it was confirmed to be a total loss, but MCE refused to disclose a list of potential repairs until the ombudsman was mentioned, we then received a very repetitive and 'cobbled together' list of repairs; not a headed paper by the garage works list like requested/expected like other insurers. In brief we have been waiting in excess of three months for a written off vehicle claim to be settled and still have no sign of the promised funds; we call daily for an update on the progress to be told various stories by members of staff who just cant wait to get you off the phone. stories such as the manager will release the funds, we require additional documentation, there has been a delay due to the bank holiday, the manager who deals with this is unfortunately unavailable, we'll call you back with an update etc. etc. All of which has still got us no further to having the settlement. On one occasion my partner was verbally abused by a member of staff who to end the call properly. We were made aware by the ombudsman that the underwriters of MCE's policies La Parissienne assurance, were not regulated by the FCA either, which if informed of this the policy never would have been purchased. Its worth being aware that staff seem to have very little product knowledge on the policies they sell, you can call numerous times reference the same issue and receive a multitude of responses. Although a long winded review this is only a BRIEF history of our issues with MCE, we are at present seeking legal advice on the matter. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Tried to renew my policy. MCE don't tell you what your new premium will be so you have to go through the whole rigmarole of getting a new quote. Having got the quote I tried to pay and after entering my card details it said transaction hadn't gone through. The same thing happened last year but it transpired the transaction had in fact gone through (I found out when I checked my card statement). So I waited a couple of days but nothing came through on my card statement. I tried ringing to complete the payment but gave up after an hour on hold. Eventually I managed to pay by ringing a different option - call centre in Asia somewhere who didn't seem to know what they were doing but did eventually take my payment although by that time it was more than the quote I had. Live Chat was useless by the way.

Trying to get through to MCE was a painful experience. No one answers the phone! Made 3 calls to try and get through to them all with the message " one of our operative will answer you call shortly, thank you for holding. I called on my mobile. . No notification it was a premium line number. Looked at my phone bill the other day. . £25 charge for trying to get through to them. That's now on top of what I payed for the insurance. NOT HAPPY!!!! I did try the live chat before calling on the second on hold call, but they seemed lacking in knowledge for the question I needed answering so had to call a third time and just wait on hold for someone to put their coffee down and answer a call. After getting my insurance and paying for it I waited for confirmation by email and the policy they said they would send. . . Nothing! Had to go on live chat and ask for it to be sent. Then received the email with everything while on live chat. The whole experience was frustrating and painful and puts me off from contacting them again as it's firstly going to cost a fortune and the operatives don't sound like they are particularly interested in selling you the insurance anyway.

Bunch of rip off merchants, I had only had my insurance out for 1 month when I sold my bike. When I cancelled my insurance I was told I would not be due a refund. I thought I would at least be due half back.

After losing my licence due to a mix up with another insurance company I looked for an insurance company who would insure me with the driving conviction. This is now my second year with MCE and I have had no problems what so ever with this insurance company. Everyone that I've spoken to have been very lovely and understanding. Big thanks to Marc for helping me sort my policy today, he even got me a discount and reduced administration fees! A very pleasant experience and it didn't take long at all. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

mce are a disgrace you try and claim for a bike that was stolen they make you feel like you are the criminal they are not very understanding and then when you have made a claim they except your renewal and then you pay the first instalment over the phone then they ring 2 days later to ask you more questions and say we can not insure you and want to charge me the deposit for cancelation but I never cancelled it they cancelled it I am in my 60s and never been refused anything never been in trouble and now I have this because my bike was stolen they talk to you like you don't matter and no one cares disgusting the way they treat people they might be cheap until you try and make a claim be warned

Absolute garbage - tried to contact via phone for over 30 minutes on two occasions with no success. Went on to live chat and it is offline. They say they have a defacto 5 star rating - this cannot be true. MCE insurance should NOT be allowed to use GOCOMPARE or any other websites and shame on time if they continue to allow them to remain in their insuranc search recommendations DO NOT GO NEAR 'MCE INSURANCE' AND GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY AND BUSINESS - If I could I would have given them a minus five (-5) rating which I beli be the CEO and board members need to do something about!!!
