For about 10 years I have enjoyed Gudruns clothing: Serviceable, practical. quirky and fun to wear. For the last 2 years that enjoyment has been doused by the pandemic and and the loss of suppliers and workers. I suspect that Gudruns derogatory racially charged comments led to her stepping down from the company which led to the loss of her creative spirit. Currently GJ catalogues which I would delight in, picture ordinary, unimaginative styles lacking charm and detail. I have no interest in ordering them. It had been a good run.

Beautiful fashion but bad quality. 3 months ago I ordered a pair of woolen socks (34 euro!) that are already worn through. How does the production of clothing that lasts only last a few months and has to be thrown away fit in their "green soul" biological philosophy?

I've been a so-called "VIP customer" since discovering this company in a magazine advertisement in 2015. Beautiful catalogs and fun clothing. Over the past almost 9 years now, the Customer Service has been less than stellar and prices have gone up while the quality of the clothing has gone down. I am sad to say that rude and inadequate Customer Service is the main issue and the killer of my love for Gudrun Sjöden in addition to never receiving catalogs with the exception of 2 (!) in the past year of 2022 despite large orders and requests for said never received catalogs and being ignored by their customer service in Sweden and the instagram account based out of the Soho NY office. Much neglect and rudeness on their part as well with no attempts for goodwill with a loyal, "VIP customer" who received the full amount of bonus points each year and received a free $100 value purchase each time including this year. Hence, I decided to stop ordering in feeling not valued for my loyalty and amount of purchases each year... but did receive bonus points and placed an order last month in order to fulfill the $100 bonus item. My order, from what is apparently a new warehouse in the US, in Minnesota, screwed up my order. Once again, more rudeness from Customer Service and a refusal to send me a $10 wall calendar as a good will effort and apology for all of the customer service failure of the past year. Like other customers have stated, the new items, I notice, are tissue paper thin and even more see through than ever. I had even spent an additional $50 for the order I had placed, in going over the $100 bonus amount, against my better judgement. There was also some kind of snafu with the namesake of the company, Gudrun, over some kind of woke politics issue which personally I could care less about. Sweden has been overtaken by criminal migrants so I'm just glad that I no longer live there and apparently Gudrun has left the company in her formerly official capacity and moved to NY? Anyway, the company that remains is not one that I care to any longer do business with. I might buy some accessories if hopefully the quality of their socks and tights has not declined as much as the other apparel and especially, the customer service has. Customer service at GS has made me angry and regretful for doing business with them for the last time, as of today. It's a bloody shame, particularly when their instagram account does not respond to DMs concerning customer service issues after the Sweden office ignores or is rude to you, and now that the brand actually has a full service warehouse in Minnesota.

I have several GS cardigans in my wardrobe from five or six years back, but today's garments are so poor quality that I won't be ordering any more. The fabrics are very thin, almost see through in some cases, and when you order a cardigan you want something that will keep you warm, not a flimsy piece that lets the cold air in. They used to make lovely lined jackets, and I had two and wore them until they fell apart. They were from about ten years ago, when the company made good quality items in useful fabrics, which looked great and were worth the money. Again, today's clothing is far lower in quality, and not worth the money. And the fabrics have become cheaper as well, with some nasty polyester type fabrics that feel slimy and itchy on the skin. What has gone wrong? I hope someone in the company will come to their senses and restore the quality from five to ten years ago. But I doubt it will happen.

Bought several seasons' clothing, 2-3 items each season. During the pandemic they were fun, for at home. But none of them - none - washed well- they got holes in them, colors faded very quickly, soft materials turned scratchy. And the latest order was just awful, sweat-inducing polyester materials. Also the passive-aggressve ethnic themes got tiresome. Bye - fun while it lasted but I won't be ordering any more. They don't allow reviews on their site. I can see why now...

Looked at an item for a few days and finally decided to pull the trigger and purchase - it won’t let me! I see others in these reviews hve had the same issue for at least 2 weeks. Guess they don’t want the sales.

Why have a sale and you haven’t updated your payment gateway to deal with the load. A bit pointless if you ask me and will be disappointing a lot of customers.

The sizing is very strange. I measured myself and ordered an XL. The dress and cardigan were a looser fit on the models on the website, but both items were so huge on me that I couldn't wear them. I exchanged them both for a size down. They were still quite large and very unflattering on my figure. I tried to return instead of exchange. They denied my return and said they will be shipping back to me. So now I'm stuck with two items that don't fit and cost me almost $300. Never again. The quality was also very disappointing. The dress was practically see through and the knit cardigan was very thin. I know their items are meant to be layered, which I did, but they just did not feel luxurious at all. The screen print on the dress looked very poorly done.

I have been ordering from Gudrun Sjoden for a little over two years now and I love their clothing. It is comfortable and colorful, and the quality is good for the price. Sometimes I have to send something back because it doesn’t look well on me, but I’ve had no problems doing so. For a while earlier in the pandemic, there were definitely delays in shipping, but that has gone away and I now get my deliveries very quickly. I’m taking the time to write this because, like some other customers, I do not understand the poor reviews I’ve been reading. My experience has been very positive. (I live in New York, USA.)

One of the sweaters I ordered is fraying and seams separating after a few wears and no washings. I contacted customer service and they want me, at my expense, to send this one back in order to get a new one. Forget it! I sent photos and said I would donate the poor quality sweater but I live in a rural area and returning this is a big pain. Just won’t order from them again.

For a number years anything from Gudrun made me over the moon with delight. The funny, quirky, folky and practical combined to look well even after many launderings. In the last couple of years probably due to the problems of Covid and suppliers and manufacturing the quality of clothing has deteriorated considerably. Not only are the fabrics cheaper but the designs are lacking in detail and subtlety. Designs seem to lack details.

The company somehow changed my account name to my sons name when he bought me a gift certificate. In the store, they revived an old account, and told me customer service would sort it out if I called them. On the phone with customer service, they blamed my son for messing up my account ( he couldn't have logged in, he doesn't have my password) and refused to honor the points for my purchases made in store. The agent was rude and disrespectful. She kept interrupting me. Before this I was a faithful Gudrunista, but now I see what people are talking about with the terrible customer service. Coupled with the steady decline in quality, I'm on the lookout for a new brand to purchase.

I purchased a wrap around jacket. When I tried iit on I realized that the front that wraps over the other side is not sewn correctly and bunches at the bottom where the front meets the hem. I showed this to at least 3 friends who agree with my assessment. Clearly it is a manufacturing defect. I missed the window of 30 days to send it back but the policy says a manufacturing defect item can be returned within 3 years. After 4 exchanges with Customer Service complete with pictures of the item on me, on a hanger, and laying flat. They would not take it back for a reimbursement or exchange as I requested. Amazingly they said my tailor sister, who agreed with my assessment of the defect, should fix it and they would pay her. Yes! They would pay her to fix it but they won’t give me a reimbursement or replacement. The jacket cost 125.00, not a small sum. My sister said she couldn’t fix it.. she lives pretty far away And has projects of her own. I offered to send it to Cust. Service and I did. Just received an e mail from them that says they still can’t see the problem and no reimbursement or replacement! 15% off on my next order. Unbelievable. Even my son can see the problem, “Clearly a hem thing”The jacket is being sent back to me. I sincerely doubt I will be using the measly 15% off.

I wonder if GS PR and customer service - team are reading all these bad reviews at all? Do they care? I wish they would address these problems and things would change for the better. Because I think their clothes used to (?) fill a real need in the fashion world. Because these unique clothes for me are actually NOT fashion, it's a style (that suits me). I am so disappointed by the quality drop in the last couple of years though; the fabric is getting thinner and the colour does fade too fast. For example my dark blue cotton dress "Soho": totally see through and needs something underneath. Then I couldn't resist the pink Liiva dress, unfortunate the colour is not sweat prove, so with the humid heat this summer my sweating caused the colour to running, changing from bright pink to a dirty orange under the armpits and completely ruined the dress. I can also agree with other people's feedback here that telephone customer service are extremely unfriendly. I almost felt like a criminal because I unwillingly caused confusion by ordering in the German sales as well as in the UK sales with 2 different accounts (I have an address in Germany as well, so I thought why not). There are sometimes more interesting items or different sizes in both countries, and why should it be different from Amazon or Ebay? But apparently I can only order in one of the two countries? The UK -GS lady was extremely aggressive and unfriendly to me. Not a nice experience, and not align with their ethos as they like to represent themselves . I would really love it if GS would sort out their customer service ethos and improve their quality of clothing again - everything looks so much lovelier in the catalogue, I really wonder sometimes if the stuff shown there is actually made out of the same fabrics as what they are sending to us customers....

I don't understand the bad reviews. I have been ordering over an 2 year and so much clothes from them and there was no issues what's so ever. I order from Canada and the clothes come in 3 days to 5 days max. As for return the services is amazing and I never had issues not getting my money. The clothes come with a return label and a form. The easiest return I have ever done. As for quality, someone said that you can get same for quarter of the price on amazon...…..lol. Ok that is ridicules, do they understand quality???? Yes its pricy but you get good quality clothes. Its so unfortunate that this company is getting such bad reviews, they surely don't deserve it.

There is apparently no communication between the UK trouble-shooter in Scotland (Dundee) and Stockholm, so if you have an issue with an order, just accept that it won't be resolved to your satisfaction. And any return will cost you ( re the small print.)

Overall, I love most of their clothing and I’ve purchased at least over 30 items since I began purchasing from them about two years ago, and kept most of what was shipped to mr I like the color combinations and the fabrics, especially the voile dresses. Occasionally, something that looked great on the catalog model didn’t look so great on me, but I just return it. For me many of the designs are great because I am fairly small on the top, but with wide hips. This gives me problems with dresses. But many of their clothing designs effectively minimize my figure imbalance, and they are very comfortable to wear. I noticed some reviewers mentioned shipping problems and I experienced long delays when I first began my purchases last year but that was when shipping problems were endemic because of Covid. More recently i’ve been getting the packages fairly quickly for a company that’s based overseas.. It’s been similar to the time period it takes to get things from Boden. I find their clothing colorful, comfortable and cheerful, and l’m very picky. I like things that are somewhat ‘different’ from mainstream fashion.

These clothes are poorly made with flimsy fabrics and are extraordinarily overpriced. I sent a $970 order back and received a $886 refund with no explanation of the difference. Beware!!!!! You can buy better clothes for a quarter of the price on Amazon. Soooooo incredibly disappointed as I've lusted after these clothes for years and decided to finally treat myself. DO NO BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE. IT'S A TOTAL RIPOFF. Fabrics are tissue thin. Quality is atrocious. Styles are for people in a convent or sing in a church choir. I paid $93 for a pair of pants I could get at Marshalls for $12. Awful, awful and awful. I can't say enough horrid things about these "green" people. What a joke.

Just cancelled an order with them because, yet again, a product they accepted an order for from me a week ago, and for which they estimated delivery by yesterday, will not be available for despatch for at least another week. I had to phone customer services in order to find this out (when I realised payment had still not been taken) and got a very frosty reception there. I stopped ordering from them for some time once before for similar issues but decided to give them another try. This latest botched order will be my last, I'm afraid. Awful service.
