“The Solar installation is great. It produces enough power to run the house and chage the battery for the cloudy bits of the day. However. I've had a lot of trouble with the smarts on the battery controller. From day one it was very inconsistent. Sometimes the battery drains back into the grid during off-peak hours. Other times it, does not power the house at all, even though it's at full charge. It took nearly 3 months of back and forth with Tesla to fix this problem. Harrisons was not a great help during this phase, but it was not an installer issue. it was a product issue. After Tesla finally fixed the firmware, it now works as expected. In hindsight, I should not have gone for the Tesla battery. But the rest is great.”

“Had issues with the power board and battery and it was a process of elimination, as both were changed out. Just had a charger installed in the garage and trips the switch every time we charge the car so the installer coming back to correct it next week. For expensive, top of the range products a bit dissapointing.”

“Have had a 4.2kw system for 5 years now. Producing between 5 and 5.5 MWH per year. I installed a 5KW SolarEdge Inverter so that I could expand to 6kw of panels as the price of power increased. I also installed a SolarImmersion device which isolates the hotwater tank from the grid for all but 2 hours per day and any surplus power is sent to the hotwater tank instead of going to the grid. Works great in the summer and provides close on 100% self consumption in the winter. June and July I use the boost button to connect to the grid for an extra hour each night. The system has worked flawlessly for 5 years. Am looking to move to Christchurch in a year or so and will get solar installed on the new house. With 5 years experience I will go for a Fronius string inverter instead of the more expensive SolarEdge with optimisers so that most of the money is spent on panels on the roof where it counts, On the whole very pleased.”
