Solar: Palmerston North. A small wait we were ok with to have a visit and discussion about the Solar package. We were impressed with the idea of the product and paid our deposit to lock in our purchase. Should the installation have gone smoothly, then we would have had no idea how bad the customer service from Harrisons would be (locally). It felt like the sale was made and then we were of little interest to our local rep. The install is contracted to another company. Our product was installed, however a part was missing so they said they were coming the next day. We planned our work schedules to be home, however no one turned up. 2 days later, someone “randomly” turned up, they could not get the system to work and the next day they found that we had a faulty inverter. We then received an invoice the next day asking for the other portion of the payment. Unreal, since they system was not working. During this time, not a word from Andrew our local rep. During this whole process his effort to reply to our emails were slim to minimal. During our frustration with no replies from Andrew we were forced to contact Customer service. They committed to following up, however they also did not come back to us on the day they promised and we needed to make another call. 19 days later from the date it was decided the inverter was faulty, we had an electrical certification booked. This was completed, however still no working solar system. Just over a month later we got a phone call from our installer and the new inverter had arrived and installed the next day. We have a great working system now, however the lack of Customer service is enough for us to warn people to consider what is important to them.

Right from the first enquiry Nerum was prompt with his response and was extremely helpful and thorough with helping me through the initial process that I booked and confirmed the same day. Wayne was amazing with the install process and took the time to explain the set up and benefits from the system I had installed.

Nerum did a great job explaining solar to me and listening to our needs. The install team was on time and got the job done quickly with no fuss. We had a power cut the following weekend and were barely affected thanks to the new system.

From start to finish, our Solar journey has been really well managed with Harrisons. We originally started our journey with Guy Coleman when we were in Red Beach and he was great, fantastic communication and excellent service. We then moved to Karaka into the variable hands of Nerum Bonesetter. Every care has been taken along the way. Brilliant communication from Nerum about the process, and the patience as we completed the move and kicked off our solar install. The guys who did our install, Jaldip and Jaggy - team photovoltaics, had excellent communication, took real care of our property, and did an excellent job of getting his hooked up. Nerum continued to do a great job of supporting us by going through the app with us to make sure we set everything up to take the best advantage of the plan we're on. I highly recommend Harrisons based on our experience.

Right from the first contact with Nerum to the install with Wayne the whole process was seem less and incredibly easy. The team are both extremely knowledgeable and helpful would highly recommend

I normally try to avoid leaving negative reviews, but my experience with Harrison Northland / Harrison Solar leaves me no other choice. I contacted Harrison Solar because I was interested in installing a solar system to ensure backup power during outages and being off the grid. Craig from Harrison Northland provided me with an offer, and based on their positive reviews, I trusted that I was making the right decision. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a big mistake. The installation process was problematic from the start. After the system was only half installed, it became clear that essential components were missing. These had to be ordered, and then nothing happened for weeks. When the installation was finally completed, the system still didn’t work. After hours of attempts and multiple phone calls, it became evident that the system would not start up properly. Even “Give Energy,” the supplier of the batteries used in Harrison systems, could not resolve the problem. Several remote attempts were made to get the system running, but eventually it was determined that the system required a new computer board. After several more weeks, the replacement board arrived—only for me to discover that it was used. All the seals were broken, and one of the connector housings was partially damaged. Meanwhile, I learned something even more concerning: the system sold by Harrison is not made for being off the grid. When the battery becomes depleted, it can not use the energy produced by the solar panels to restart. The inverter must be connected to the grid for that to happen. This means the system does not provide the level of independence I was originally promised. At that point, I asked Harrison to remove the system entirely. Overall, this experience has been frustrating, time-consuming, and deeply disappointing. Harrison insisted that Give Energy would never send out something used, lukylie I could prove on pics that it was that way, and if I had not seen it, I would have ended up with an old damaged board. I would strongly caution others to verify all technical claims and product capabilities before committing to an installation with this company.

I do not rate Harrisons workmanship very highly. I was very disappointed to discover they had caused a leak on my roof. When I approached management my concerns were passed on and were not honored. They did not take resonsibility even though I had a roofing company in to diagnose the cause of the leak to confirm it was caused by solar installation done by Harrisons solar.

Approached Harrison’s online to start our solar journey. Andre and Tineka Kavanagh contacted us and Andre arranged a time to meet us at our property in Taupo to discuss our situation and sort out a plan to suit our needs. Andre was a careful listener and very knowledgeable, he was able to answer all our questions and left us confident we were in good hands. Tineka contacted us within a few days with a very comprehensive proposal which ticked all the boxes we had discussed with Andre. The moment we accepted the proposal everything just flowed seamlessly from there. Tineka and Donna organised all the paperwork and the various applications on our behalf and kept us informed of dates and times for the installation process. The installation team were fantastic and we are very pleased with the end product, the system is delivering exactly as projected in the proposal at the beginning. I would recommend Andre, Tineka and Donna to anyone thinking of going solar.

Didn’t put the hot water on same phase as solar. Never return calls like they say they will. I’m on my 3rd inverter in 6 years. Maybe they should stick with curtains

We found Andre and Tineka Kavanagh excellent to deal with. Their communication path is extremely efficient, and all aspects of the installation and compliance issues happened like clockwork. Very happy 😊

Found whole process very quick and efficient including the install. Team dealt with were great. Would definitely recommend to others wanting to switch to solar. These guys were recommended also to me by friends who gone through same process.

We are totally dissatisfied with Harrisons. We opted for a GivEnergy Battery (because Musk is a tyrant) and 14 Aiko panels and have had no savings at all, plus we keep having short power outages as evidenced by all the appliances having to be re-set, approximately once a week. They say it is the data upgrades that are causing it, or can you send a photo of the problem, but the technicians and sales people have no experience of the GivEnergy product. It turns out we were the first ones to install it with the team in Auckland, although they only informed us of that when they had the head honcho overseeing the installation to ensure the first one went well. It didn't. They had to re-wire their initial job when we were plunged into darkness the next day. They don't know anything about the product, they don't provide any satisfaction via their call centre, they have no advice on how to set up the app to maximise our savings, no follow-up on questions asked, no idea of the optimal reserve setting for the battery or why. What a waste of $25K. Clearly just a process of selling in the product and nothing else matters when they have the money. If they had a zero option I would be giving that.

We used Harrison’s Solar for our install and have regretted this decision entirely. Harrison’s did zero to ensure that the expensive system that we had payed for actually functioned properly. As an example our electrician (prior) installed two Tesla car chargers that were supposed to be supplying electricity using the solar panels and battery storage but the reality was that very little of our home usage was being supplied by our 13.6 KW + battery system which was funnelling the ‘excess’ generation at 8 cents/kwh back into the main grid and our electric bills remained high at $500 per month. When we choose not to continue using Harrison’s they sent us an invoice of $1500 as an ‘administrative fee’ to change over access to our system to another company … this costs nothing to actually do.

We recently installed a solar system of 12 panels and a Tesla Powerwall battery. The whole process has been extremely well handled by Carl Williams from Harrison's West Auckland team. Carl and his staff have done a fantastic job. We're very happy with the results, the system is easy to use. The communication with the office was also excellent, we always got a rapid reply to any questions we had. We highly recommend Carl.

Andre and Tineka Kavanagh installed our solar system a month ago after talking to my parents who got them to install their solar over 5 years ago. We couldn’t have been happier with the advice, communication – from start to finish – and level of service that we received from Andre and Tineka. Both being fully involved with various aspects of providing the service. The timelines they hoped to achieve and the no b.s approach were all delivered on time and greatly appreciated, and we were up and running straight away. We also couldn’t fault the subcontractors that came to our property who came to install and get our system live. They were all awesome! Follow up help is also top notch. Anything we’ve wanted to know to better run our system to achieve the best possible results has been answered and help is always on hand well and truly after the job was complete…… 5 stars from us!!! I applied on online for an appointment and with in 2 days we had one. Craig Jacobs from Harrisons Far North Solar came and explained everything. He made it so clear to understand the whole process. He gave us a time frame and costs. Everything happened as he'd said and the timing was exactly as he'd said. We are extremely happy with the outcome and even though July was a very rainy month we still saved a lot. Thank you Craig you are very organized.

We have dealt with many companies over the years and have had good to great service, but when it comes to Harrisons Solar Waikato, this company is on another level. Andre, Tineka, Donna, and the team were absolutely fantastic. They handled every single thing and we basically did nothing other than watch. Effortless, super smooth, and so professional.
