“The book arrived bent and the pages are not the best quality. I knew in advance that the actual photos of the newspaper clippings would vary in quality, but I did expect the book, at that price, to be so poor. The pages stick together and are wrinkled when turning the page. I have worked in print departments in the past, and this is very low-quality printing. Again, I am referring to the actual book and paper and not the pixelation of the photos themselves. The book did arrive on time, so that was a positive.”

“Very quick and easy to use just very disappointed a type paid £10 for a box which I thought would fit the newspaper without folding it but the newspaper was folded and the box looked a bit silly as there was a lot of room in it. I just expected a box that fitted the paper perfectly without folding. I would’ve thought it would be possible to fit all sizes of papers with all sizes of boxes. I did complain but nothing came of it”

“The order took over 2 weeks to deliver, and when it did, none of the left-hand pages were legible. They were faded out. They said they did a quality check on every shipment, so I sent them photos of the pages as proof. They offered to send me a replacement book at no charge; however, they would not expedite shipping. The book was ordered for a birthday party gift, and without expediting, it could not make it on time for the party. Replacement arrived 10 days after the party.”

“The paper we ordered was a gift and in the process, the mailing address was lost and we realized it was being sent to us (the givers) instead of the recipient. Within 5 minutes I alerted the company and asked that they correct it. They claimed that they could not. So I received the paper, had to pay for it to be shipped to the actual recipient ($16.00) and it arrived late as a result. Very disappointing!”

“Ordered 2 football books with gift boxes. Receive the first one and it was completely wrong with a baseball on the cover and no gift box. They sent a corrected new book still without a gift box…now that I’m asking for a refund for the box, I’m being ghosted. The other book was sent correctly.”

“Wasn't thrilled. The newspaper that was being reproduced must have been a broadsheet, so the type is so small that one would literally need a magnifying glass to read. Also huge gaps between years. Not chronological as expected.”

“I ordered a book about the Chicago Bears Football Team. The book that I received says "A Baseball History" on the front cover...also has a picture of a baseball on the cover. The book seems to have info on the football team, so that part is correct. But the cover is completely incorrect!!”

“The binding is nice and the pages "feel-ish" like old news print but super disappointed. Purchased as a gift, most pages you really have to search for the burb about the team. The pages are just bad photocopies of the original with many articles not legible. Had great expectations :( would not recommend.”

“This is a great idea. I upgraded to personalised leather cover which looks very classy, however the print is absolutely tiny. You cannot read with the naked eye. Magnify glass is needed lets if down drastically”

“I ordered this for my dads 70th birthday which is today, 23rd November as they should know as that’s the date I picked, it was ordered to arrive before his birthday and I am still waiting for the delivery… Why have I received an email asking me to review something that I’m yet to receive and is clearly late?”

“I find Historic Newspapers generally unhelpful in customer service as they want to charge £12 just to give you information. Other newspaper suppliers go out of their way to give you info on articles free of charge. Due to this I would buy from others first.On this occasion you were better but usually you do the minimum.The newspapers arrived boxed this time , which was better protected ,as normally they arrive in mailbags even if you pay £200 for them.I was disappointed that the prices increased by approx 20% just before I went to buy 8 I wanted, which seemed excessive.”

“I ordered a newspaper and a gift box. The paper arrived without the gift box. I wrote to H.N. with my order number, date of purchase total amount of money paid, and was asked to send a picture of the box it came in. I sent the picture. I have written to H.N. 2 times since then but have not heard back. Am currently out of town but as soon as I return, I will send back the newspaper and get my money back. I am very disappointed in this company.”
