“Great place to stay. The cottage was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for a weekend visiting the are around Helmsley.”

“It was an ideal location for us at the centre of Beadnell village surrounded by characterful buildings and 3 good eateries on the doorstep (almost literally!). Although the property was at the centre it was also very quiet and peaceful. In addition it was a short walk to a truly beautiful beach. The accommodation was well presented, clean and pretty well resourced although sand hadn't been cleaned properly from the floors and sofa, I had to get the hoover out for both. We were asked to pay a £250 damage deposit in advance which is reasonable but when we arrived there wasn't any paperwork identifying what was already broken/damaged in the property but there were a couple of things that appeared to be broken so we didn't use them, such as a table lamp and the blind over the kitchen sink. The courtyard garden looked rather unloved which is a shame because it has potential to be lovely.”

“Housekeeping could have been better, attention to detail, like hoover being emptied, rusty cooking tin, sticky kitchen floor. I emptied the hoover. Would of done a better cleaning job had there been cleaning products there to clean with. Dirty floor mop...otherwise a lovely place to stay and Host & Stay listened to my suggestions. Hope to return next year but Housekeeping needs attention.”

“The location was absolutely perfect , right on west cliff beach with stunning views of Whitby abbey and the beach Right next to the wishbone arch with a short walk to town etc The appartment had everything and more than we needed and was spotlessly clean and modern throughout”

“Maggies is in an Idyllic spot if you want peace and quiet perfect location to explore Hadrians Wall Kielder Forest and Hexam Racecourse to name a few. You’ll find all you need in the cottage and it’s spotlessly clean. We are looking forward to going back. By chance we did meet the Host who was lovely to talk to.”

“Gull's Haven Cottage in Staithes is picture postcard perfect, having all the amenities one could need on their holiday. Spectacular views and really centrally located so you can enjoy what Staithes has to offer. Only downside was the TV was faulty and we had a slight issue with the hot water, however the friendly team at host and stay came out immediately when we queried and quickly resolved the issue with the hot water. Would recommend this stay to others.”

“Complaint We stayed at 33 Montrose View Saltburn-by-the-Sea on Sea from the 2nd - 9th September 2023. When we arrived, we were shocked and so disappointed with the state of the house. It was extremely dirty and not the standard we expected. We contacted yourselves and were offered another clean for the following day but we had to clean it before we settled in and unpacked, so we cleaned it ourselves. Listed below with attached photos are the many issues we had with the property: - Floor extremely dirty including dog hairs and muddy footprints - Sofas both dirty with crumbs, dust and dog hairs that had obviously not been cleaned - All drawers, specifically kitchen dirty with old food and dust - All tables and surfaces dirty, shown in the photos attached when actually cleaned with products we brought ourselves - Marks and dirt on walls throughout house - Marks on the bath tub from old nail varnish that had not been cleaned - Shower screen dirty and broken and dirty - Both dirt marks and dog hairs on bed and bedsheets - Kitchen bin didn’t close - Fridge missing shelving and salad box - Washing machine drawer was dirty - Freezer was iced up and dirty - Carpets throughout were very dirty - Only One bin bags provided for the whole week and no cleaning products provided - 1 tea towel within the house house - No washing line - No welcome pack or milk provided, only sachets - House stated for six people, yet only 2 seats for outside and 4 place mats - No curtains in bedrooms, which meant street light shines into the rooms throughout the night We are honestly disgusted and so disappointment with the state of the house, it has had a massive impact on our one holiday for this year as a group of NHS workers that rarely get time off together. We paid £30 in cleaning products that we had to buy to clean the house ourselves to ensure we could stay and feel comfortable for the week. We will not be booking with host and stay again. Surly the cleaners report back to you about issues they find ?? Or maybe they don’t and that case you need to change your cleaning agency.”

“We stayed 3 nights at the dunes redcar and loved every minute. Such a beautiful place to stay, cosy clean and everything you need all there. Towels, tea towels. Washing up liquid sponges the list is endless. I was gutted to leave. Absolutely worth every penny to stay there. We are a middle aged couple so plenty of room the bed was massive and comfortable. Watch out for the parking zone apparently zone E is in another area. The pans are in a drawer under the cooker, the cooker took a bit of working out if not used to an electric hob but we worked it out eventually with Google. The frying pan needs replacing but that's the only gripe. Fully recommended 👌”

“Good stay. Good parking. Some minor improvements suggested - Inner hallway door sticks Main bedroom door sticks Socket in main bedroom right of fireplace only works one side Hand rail suggested to assist over bath Shelve required below shaver socket in bathroom Hook on bedroom door? “Price was ok we had everything we needed in the flat and it was close to the beach and town center the only problem we had as it was dusty the sink was dirty in the bathroom and shower curtain was dirty bed was very clean and comfy though we would stay again”

“We stayed at Scoresby Place in Whitby and the accommodation itself was wonderful! The apartment was clean and well equipped (could have done with some antibacterial spray to help with cleaning in future but other than that perfect!). The beds were really comfy and the location was ideal for walking into the town centre with two small children. Parking was tricky, but no fault of anyone. Unfortunately the only negative would be that the people occupying the flat below made our stay very uncomfortable. They continually propped open the front and back door and with two young children we found this really worrying. They purposefully came out and accused us of littering as there was a wrapper underneath our car (from a shop we had never been to!) which was incredibly rude and in error. They also became very uncivil and confrontational as we were leaving, to the point they raised their voice. This was due to the fact that as we were loading the car we kept opening and closing the front door to the flat (to make sure our children were safe inside and realistically 6 times). This really was disappointing as we had such an incredible stay, but I don’t know if we would return due to this.”

“We have stayed at the Salt nook in whitby three times now and loved it but on this occasion I wasn't impressed with the cleaning of the property, The shower had mold in it which the cleaner could have cleaned with a bit of effort and the glass on the stairs was smeared with greasy hand prints also in the outside sitting area there were cigarette stubs thrown about which I don't think is acceptable for the next guest to go too.”

“A spacious and well equipped unit in a good location. However, it is dark, no outdoor seating and stank of dogs, the lack of parking also an issue. The cleaning and minor maintenance needs attention and unlikely to stay in apartments run by Host and Stay as I object to non refundable security deposits.”
