“We stayed at Abbey hus in whitby recently. The correspondence regarding our stay was great. On arrival we found the communal entrance very gruby. Our living area was clean and tidy but the carpet in the entrance/bedroom were heavily stained and dirty with black hair everywhere. The tiles in the bathroom had mould on them which could have been washed off with a good clean. The kitchen was lovely but had very little equipment ie no peeler, grater 2 cups ect. The place was very central which was great. Overall we enjoyed our stay but could have been improved if the place has had a deep clean prior to our arrival.”

“2 main things that disappointed us 1. The 4th bedroom was within the lounge on a upper floor which was not stated in the details and was not private at all 2. The lack of a shower in the shared bathroom for 3, which could easily have been installed during the renovation, or even now, or one put in over the bath. 4 adult men having to use the only shower in the main bedroom en-suite which is unacceptable Sorry”

“Very well organised on arrival keys etc fab apartment good kitchen and accessories just a comment the lounge floor Very slippy close to sea front I recommend this (but not disabled friendly steps to front door and up to bedroom but for me it was worth the climb”

“We have just returned from a lovely three night stay at The Chimneys in Alnmouth , the property was well furnished and very comfortable, might need to put a sign in the kitchen warning about scalding from very hot handles on the cheap silver pans as my partner found out suffering first degree burns on her hand . That did not retract from an excellent holiday , the bed linen and mattress were of a high quality and very comfortable, it was a short walk to bars and restaurants in the viillage . Would have no hesitation in returning to the property, only downside bombarded with emails from host and stay every day which I could have done without.”

“I have stayed in a Host and Stay accommodation twice now and have found the cleaning standards and welcome pack to be of an excellent standard and quality. The choice of accommodation is of a very high standard with excellent locations along the north coast. Communication with the team is prompt, timely and very detailed. Thank you for a great break”

“The property was generally ok. However, there were lots of niggly issues like the kitchen clock not having batteries in it, lack of coat/shoe storage by the door, better lighting needed over the table, no storage in the bathroom, no kitchen storage for food, dirty/dusty areas, not enough clothes hangers, just generally looking tired. However, the main awful thing was the fact that the bed in the front bedroom gave me terrible bed bug bites and, when informed, the company really didn't seem that bothered. I'm writing this review months later because this issue has caused me a lot of mental health problems and I now find it difficult to sleep anywhere other than at my own home. A proper acknowledgment and a consideration of some form of compensation would have been welcomed and certainly in order, especially in this day and age when plenty of places are being sued for bed bugs.”

“Just returned from a 2 night stay at the starboard bow and had a brilliant time. The apartment was well equipped, clean and beautiful with amazing views of the abbey and bay with a short walk into whitby town. Theres a parking space which was a bonus. We have booked up again for next year as we were so impressed with the apartment and it's location”

“The property in Pickering was very clean, spacious and well looked after. Very comfortable and quiet. Unfortunately for us. Both showers were not working properly. One freezing cold and the other boiling hot. Although the call centre was very polite they never got fixed until the last day. This did spoil our experience which would have been excellent if this had not occurred.”

“We have just returned from a fantastic stay at even keel Whitby , accommodation was spotless everything you need home from home, well equipped with all mod cons , in an ideal location to access the harbour bars shops and restaurants , bus and train station within walking distance and for £2 you can visit Robinhoods bay or even Scarborough , we shall definitely be returning to this property .”

“We recently stayed at the Parkside Villa in Harrogate for my Best Friends Hen Party. It was perfect, this house was made for a weekend of fun with the girls. The bedrooms were stunning, there were 12 of us and not once did it feel overcrowded. The kitchen/diner was a great space for our PJ Party, and the NEON light sign was so pretty! It was close by for everything we booked, we could walk everywhere and didn’t need any taxis. We did the escape room, pottery painting, Thai at The Giggling Squid and then onto Manahatta & Revs and the morning of checked out we wandered just 10 minutes for a good Spoons breakfast! Really couldn’t fault it and I will be recommending my SIL who gets married next year!”

“We stayed at Honey cottage in Hinderwell. Lovely little cottage. Clean and tidy on arrival. Dog friendly. Reasonably priced. Very peaceful, picturesque area too. A couple of friendly pubs within walking distance, food was fab too. Only a short drive into Whitby which we love. Host and stay were very professional and kept us informed before during and after stay. Only small criticism would be that the bed in the second bedroom was not really suitable for my 18 year old son. He suffered with a bad back after sleeping in it. More suitable for small child . But apart from that a fantastic little bolt hole. And would highly recommend”

“Would not recommend using this company if you intend on having a relaxing break. We found many issues with the cottage we stayed in include health and safety issues which were not resolved during our stay as promised. It has taken nearly two months to resolve our issues which should not have been issues in the first place if they made sure the cottage was of a lettable standard. Cleaning was extremely poor, property was damp with mildew present, windows painted shut the list goes one... The customer service lady I have dealt with has been great but it shouldn't have taken this long to resolve and agree a refund.”
