“I am NOT happy. This is a site selling thousands of homes and they need to do a better job. I was the winning bidder and didn’t know it then 3 days later I found out I was the winning bidder but because I didn’t respond the property went to someone else. The way they communicate or the lack of it is disturbing. I contacted them via email and phone and never got an appropriate response to guide me. It really is disturbing. I have bought properties from other auction sites over the past six years and none of them operate this way. I am a seasoned real estate investor so I would caution all to be very careful.”

“Not happy, my client bid on the site and he used his credit card for the $1,000 amount they charge. The money was not deducted and his offer was rejected as someone else bid higher than him. Three weeks later they tried to charge his credit card twice for the $1,000 amount. That makes no sense that they waited all that time and second why would they try if his offer was rejected?”

“The process is simple and I like that , but do not like it when there is an uncertain period ,not knowing if your bid is accepted and you can not bid on other property until you find out.”

Hubzu.com does not prevent customers from bidding on other properties while awaiting a decision on bid acceptance for another property. Regarding bid acceptance, the typical response time is within a few days. However, the average time to accept a bid or offer on some homes with Special Conditions may be longer and this depends on the Seller. We would still like to speak to you regarding this matter. “Interesting properties and comfortable way to bids on an auction. The 15 minutes rule could potentially skyrocket the bids to the sky. It’s mechanism should be reviewed and adjusted. In addition, there should be a mandatory non refundable deposit to exclude people who distrupt the action. If the auction winner walkes away the deposit forfeited.”

The 15 minute rule is designed to prevent the practice of placing a bid at the last moment in hopes of being the selected bidder. While we understand your concern about skyrocketing bids, we believe that extending auction by 15 minutes allows interested buyers a fair opportunity to place a bid without the stress of bidding against the clock. With regards to your suggestion about a mandatory deposit, Hubzu has begun to implement a bid Deposit Program. At this time a bid deposit is required for selected states with plans to expand the program to more states.
