“I had a horrible experience at iSmash Meadowhall Sheffield. I went in to get my phone screen replaced and was told it would take an hour. They ended up delaying it for another 15 minutes, and when they finally got to it, the repair took only 10 minutes.
After the "repair," my phone started overheating and the battery drained rapidly. Eventually, it wouldn't even turn on. When I went back to address the issue, they blamed me for liquid damage. This was completely absurd as my phone was functioning perfectly fine (except for the broken screen) before their so-called repair.
I do not recommend this shop to anyone. Their service is slow, unprofessional, and ultimately damaged my phone further. Avoid at all costs!”
“I had a shocking experience in London with iSmash. Took my phone in for a new battery. They took longer than stated and then when I came back to collect they said the phone was water damaged on the faceID sensor. They showed me what they say was a watermark on the sensor. They then tried to say that FaceID might not now work, even though it was working fine when I dropped it in and they had witnessed that in their many tests. They also ask for all your logins which I was hugely uncomfortable with as they can access all your save passwords etc. Not good or safe in my opinion. Anyhow, they went on to replace the battery and then at the end state that they would not warranty their work for the year due to this supposed water damage. I argued but ultimately had no choice but accept to get my phone back.
The story doesn't end there.... a few months later and my phone starts to go from 50+% to zero and to crash. Turn it back on and magically that 50+% has vanished... puff... gone. This happened for a few days and then it eventually crashed for good and the phone will not charge or even show a charging symbol (tried wireless charging and the wire). Nada! One dead phone.
My advice, go buy a mini power bank for the money you would spend with them. They are crooks in my opinion.”
“Went to this place as instructed by my insurer, they replaced the screen, which is very faulty I can’t touch choice options on calls/answer important hospital calls, so had to remove the £10 screen protector they put on. Still not working. The back has since shattered and cut my hand in two places. On top of this I keep getting iPhone alarms the battery they used is poor, on taking the warrenty down i was explained they will not replace the obvious faulty screen as I’m an insurance company client, not a paying one?! He even admitted using poor parts. On trying to go back I have left my £300 Sony and earbuds. The shop at BoxPark is now closed up. I fully expect them not to be here on my return. Deeply sadden & shocked at this service
Never use. Your device will be returned worse as they plunder your iPhone for genuine parts and rack up big bills on your insurance company. Actually criminal.
I will be requesting shop CCTV from today and fully complaining”
“We were booked in for a repair appointment. The guy never turned up and when contacted he said they were closed on the day, with no explanation as to why he booked in appointments for that day.”
“Took my iphone in for replacement camera glass and they scratched my iPhone screen!! I have ended up with more damage than I started with and they claim it wasn't them, when it clearly was. They never documented any scratches on the phone when I handed it over, but after going back several times to speak to them since, they now say they wrote down that it was already scratched (conveninently they only mention this now). So now they've charged for a replacement camera glass, they've damaged my phone and they've lied to my face about it. To get the screen repaired will now cost way more than the initial camera glass and they don't even use quality glass so I'm now downgrading my phone from apple parts to their awful quality parts.
To top it off, they fitted the wrong glass for the camera glass replacement which they didnt tell me until I complained the next day so now theyve ordered the right glass but i still dont have a fixed phone! What absolute cowboys. Avoid at all costs!”
“If possible I would give them negative 5 star. The company is horrible, do not fall in the trap of battery replacement as the company will be busted very soon, they don't have any money to run the business and the investors has declined to invest furthermore.”
“Really poor customer service , rude staff, do not honour warranty repairs and justify a 45 min appointment taking 2.5 hours by referral to small print on T&Cs . They are not even cheap and don’t use genuine apple parts !
Will never use again”
“I broke my phone's screen. It was repaired in just 3 hours in the canary warf shop. Currently they have a partnership with samgung so they use original products. I am satisfied with their job, my phone is in perfect condition. Thank you!”
“If I could give them 0, I would. Do not waste your money on ismash and their ‘warranty’. I spent £100+ on replacing my screen and battery on my iPhone. The battery they used was clearly faulty. It would burn up my phone and make it unusable. The screen didn’t work either. The battery got so hot, it smashed the screen and has damaged my phone/front camera. I called the team and explained (although they kept speaking over me) and was told it would be sorted under warranty. I paid £4 to park, went to the shop and was then told it wasn’t going to be fixed under warranty. They are con artists. I suggest avoiding them.”
“Sent an iPad in for a battery replacement for a battery replacement, returned with a cracked screen, covered in dirt and adhesive around the frame from a rushed and sloppy repair.
They insist on a passcode to carry out tests, and waiver liability if you don’t, tucked in the small print. Why you need the passcode for a battery replacement. No idea. Stay clear of these lot.”
“Phone repair apparently left the waterproofing faulty so two weeks after a screen repair it was water damaged and dead. At least if you read this then realise this place doesn’t do the great job they advertise. At least save yourself some money and get a cheap screen repair.”
“I strongly advise against bringing your Samsung phone to this store. To begin with, this company does not have a customer service phone number to call, you can only email and so far I have yet to receive a response from them. I brought my Samsung S22 Ultra for a simple screen repair on Saturday. When I booked online, the website stated that it would take 2-4 hours. I dropped off the phone and received an email over two hours later to state that the phone could not be repaired and I needed to pick it up. When I called the store, the 'technician' stated that they need to call Samsung HQ for a reset code to fix the screen and the office is only open Monday to Friday. I asked why the website allowed me to book this appointment and why he accepted it and he could not provide an explanation. I travelled all the way from Oxfordshire and they would not even offer the courtesy of a discount when they eventually fixed the phone on Monday. The technician stated that he has asked his manager to update the website to stop this as an ongoing problem but obviously they don't care enough about their customers to bother. Truly awful service across the board. The technician flatly denied responsibility and stated that the problem was with Samsung due to their policies. I'll be bringing my phone to the local repair shop next time. Terrible company.”
“Weak quality MacBook batteries sold in their shops. I asked them to replace the old battery in my Mac to a new one that died in 2,5 months. The company replaced it with another one. The second battery after 1,5 years was already on 60% and caused keyboard issues on the Mac. I don’t recommend their service.”
