About JENZA:

Who is JENZA? Can I trust them? And why don’t you ever answer our calls? (Mum??). So, (mostly) legit questions to ask before you book. JENZA is the travel love child of USIT and BUNAC – two originals of the work and travel world founded by students in 1959 and 1962. Yep, we’re old AF. But with that, comes a ton of wise old owl expertise and trust. Basically, these chaps may be so new they chafe – but it’s not our first rodeo. Working as one global team, JENZA has the backing of 65+ years of work abroad experience, but has been built for today’s travellers. Shaped by our Youth Advisory Panel and given the stamp of approval by our roadtesters, it’s all in our logo: You Shaped Travel.

“I am really happy to be traveling with JENZA. The customer service is great, both Shontelle and Louis do a great job here in New Zealand. You can always call them, even at night. They explained everything to us and I think I am well prepared for my Work and Travel year. The price is ok but you get a lot of things like a shuttle to the hostel, 4 nights in a clean and good hostel, some socializing events which are pretty cool. I'll let you know when I have more experience but for now I'm really happy with the organization and would always recommend traveling with them.”

“Ive booked a work and travel trip through jenza and so far everything went really well and ive had no problems whatsoever. Im really thankful for the help and advice they offer which is extremely helpful especially in the beginning. Id definitely recommend jenza for everyone whos doing their first solo trip and is a little bit unsure about some things or would like a helping hand for the first few days.”

“I discovered Jenza through a family friend, that's done something similar to what I'm doing now. When I started organizing my trip there was always some sort of help or guide that could help you with planning everything. When we arrived, everyone was very helpful and understanding. It's a very friendly environment and you'll feel very welcomed. I had a great time.”

“Took a program in Auckland, New Zealand and they were very nice and super helpful. They took their time to answer every question anyone may have and also offer us constant help while traveling if something happens. I think it made everyone have a better feeling about traveling alone far away from home.”

“I booked my working holiday through the Canadian organization SWAP who partners with JENZA/BUNAC. Having a cohort of other travellers was super valuable for socializing and figuring out 'life' in the first week. I definitely recommend the full 8-day package as 3 days is barely enough time to recover from jet lag. :)”

“I think JENZA is definitely worth it if you're going travelling for the first time and have worries about making friends or any admin or logistics. Having the orientation with Louise and Shontelle gave some information that I didn't know beforehand that was useful. It's also nice having the safety net while you're travelling because it's like having a mum in the country who you can email or call in an emergency and they'll help you out wherever you are. I think if you're an experienced traveller this programme isn't necessarily the best value for money, but definitely worth it if you're worried about travelling as it gives lots of peace of mind.”

“JENZA really gave me assurance about my travel journey, we can always text them and get information or text them when we are in trouble, you're never alone. There was also some information about unsafe situations and where we have to be cautious. The Hostel is very nice, and you meet many people through the activities. They not directly help with SIM cards and jobs, we just got a few information and internet links where to get them, but it was fine with me. Thank you for helping me getting started.”

“Jenza really gave us safety by promising to have the opportunity to call them if we would be in trouble! The starter package totally helped me due to lots of different information about how to find jobs and also how to react properly if I'll be unhappy with treatment. In addition to that they recommended a lot of different apps and websites! I can totally recommend especially if you're travelling solo!”

“For me it was definitely a good decision booking my work and travel experience with JENZA. It's ideal to get a general impression and some tips for example in terms of finding a job, buying/renting a car or organizing your journey. Additionally, both the JENZA-team and the other travelers were so openhearted and nice, so I really had a great time. Unfortunately, sometimes, everything was a bit unorganized. For instance, there wasn't a pre-departure call we booked. However, it was a good experience I can recommend to everyone who wants to have some help before starting their work and travel adventure.”

“I think it was a good decision to go with jenza as they are always there to help you in any situation. I hope that the office in Auckland will get better once the construction work is done. I would have preferred the one on ones with only one person in one room as it was difficult to concentrate with so much going on around you. The predeparture call was cancelled several times without further notice, making it not possible for many people to join. I think the first day was a bit messy, as there wasn't really time for a city walk when you wanted to eat lunch and get a SIM card. I enjoyed the trip to Devonport. Everyone is really nice.”

“I like it to have my first days with Jenza because i know we get important informations for travelling, jobs and accomondations. Any time we have a question, they help us with it. And i feel save because i know i can call they every time. The only not so good thing was, that some informations were good to have early befor. A little bit better Organization about some things would be better.”

“The first orientation days with JENZA are now over and me and my buddy had a great time. We were put into a room with 6 other people, that were from Germany aswell so we could connect to others really quickly. The guides explained how to open a bank account, get a SIM and our IRD number, so that everybody understood it easily. They also took their time to talk to us one on one, so we could ask all the questions we gathered. All in all, great experience”

“At first I was a bit unsure about why I had spent the money for this, but it is well worth it! I was really nervous about getting here and not knowing anyone here or anything about NZ, but the team has helped me to feel confident to get out there and see the country, and I've met loads of people already through the orientation and the socializing they set up, and I know I have contacts here for my whole time here. I was skeptical at first but it is well worth it!”
