“Second time Ive had to use Kwik Fit. Second time Ive been messed around waiting for tyres to be fitted which they haven’t got in stock! They came up with pathetic excuses why they didn’t have tyres despite my ordering them online when I made the appointment!”
“The Kwik fit in Detenhan Norwich have the most grumpy and rude from of the house , this is my second time there and both times he is rude .
He was answering a customers in the phone and swearing when he put the phone down .
It’s a shame because I have used others units and apart from that every body else is polite and helpful .
I don’t think that gentleman is suitable to deal with people .”
“I had a tyre fitted, with very minimal mileage the tyre had a big hole and apparently the object went in and out. ? Could it be the tyre was already holed, fitted with a temporary rubber that will soon wear out. Exactly 4 weeks since fitting I was buying a new tyre. Monthly tyre replacement could be our new budget beware.”
“booked in for tracking as new tyres fitted and pulling to left since.
booked in 9am 27/12/23 the car placed onto tracking jig and printout showed both front and rear needed alignment.
then told to busy to do so am now having to book Elsewhere..”
“I usually go to the Stockton on tees garage and normally receive great service. This time I booked in to have a slow puncture looked at.
I arrived 10 am and car taken straight away. After an hour they found the cause of the problem. No complaints here as an earlier independent garage totally missed it.
After trying to do a repair I was told I would need a new tyre. Okay and I was still happy but when the click reached two hours I looked outside to see four staff trying to bump start my car. I only took it in for a puncture. When I approached staff they refused to speak and I guessed the ignition had been left on for my 2+ hour wait.
A long time for a puncture repair and a drained battery. I’ll still use Kwikfit sometimes but I’ll go to another branch.”
“Mobile Tyre fitting - Repeated no-shows and no communication.
On the 21st July I paid to have 2 tyres fitted and balanced on my motorhome on the 26th July. However on the day, during the arrival window I got a call that the fitter had gone home for the day.
The vehicle had a flat tyre on my landlord's drive, and he had only allowed me to keep my motorhome there until the 26th.
However, Kwik Fit had sent me £25 back to my card. I didn't get a message or explanation, and rang up to confirm that this was a goodwill gesture. Much appreciated.
The earliest booking after that I was offered was Saturday 30th. I negotiated with my landlord to have keep it in place until then. The window of arrival was all day, 8:30-20:30 so I waited at my landlords drive with my phone. I tried ringing to get an estimate of the arrival time, but was told I'd have a to wait. I called again at 8pm to see what was happening, and was told that there was an issue getting the tyres and it wouldn't be happening today. They promised to call me back with more details and arrange another date. They didn't call back on Saturday night, which is fair enough, and I assumed they didn't work on Sundays because I didn't get called then either.
On Monday 1st August I tried calling, but got disconnected after waiting 2 hours. I tried again, and emailed. On Tuesday 2nd I got a call that rang off before I had a chance to pick it up, it rang for 2 rings and hung up. I checked the number - it was kwik fit. I had no messages and no emails. I rang back and waited for another hour but didn't get through.
My landlord was annoyed, I was annoyed, had spent hours waiting for visits and waiting on the phone while I had paid £240 for a service I hadn't gotten with poor communication throughout. I couldn't even get someone else to do the work, because I still wanted Kwik Fit for the tyre balancing service that comes with it. However, I had to move it from my landlord's driveway.
August 3rd, after waiting for half an hour I got through on the phone. Fortunately I was able to cancel and was promised a refund in 3-5working days.
August 16th, nine working days later I still didn't have the refund. I rang again, and a lady named Ainsely told me the order had been cancelled. I explained I didn't have the refund though. She said she'd look into it and call me back. She never called back, but I got the refund on the 17th August.
Most galling of all, the goodwill gesture was taken out of my refund.
So for all the expenses incurred on my part, the inconvenience, the awkward conversations with my landlord, I feel like Kwik Fit had no interest in ever doing the work I paid for, and no explanation given.
If Kwik Fit are under-staffed, they need to stop accepting payment for work they can't do. Or raise the prices, hire more people and pay them more. It's supposed to be a national leader.”
“We chose Kwik fit because of the initial customer service by NIGEL who understood and gave excellent advice for replacing tyres on our caravan. We booked well in advance of our holiday to allow for any problems.
two weeks later two cancellations from the fitters , waiting around and re booking our appointments to fit in with kiwi fit, being told by a fitter that head office said to fit tyres which were 4 years+ old is fine ( we refused), then told that they do bulk order and can't guarantee there will be a new tyre ( considering we ordered new tyres) long waiting from customer services to speak to anyone, being cut off on the phone, one not knowing what the other one's conversation was just a few moments ago. I am fed up - finally TOM with excellent customer services refunded my money with a reference number and I requested to make a complaint to which I was told the manager will contact me and handle the case...........I won't hold my breath. they certainly don't live uptown their name sadly. Advice : when you dial go to the option to book a fitter for your tyre- it's the only one you will get an answer or else be prepared to wait for an hour - ensure you use 0800 too!!”
“These guys were trying to milk us for money, taking advantage of our perceived naivety! The guy we spoke to chose not to mention the possibility of repair and instead exaggerated an issue to persuade us to buy a new tyre, and quoted way higher prices than was advertised online. Would not recommend. The only plus point is they seem to work quite quickly, and would have had our unnecessary repairs done promptly.”
“Bought car battery, but still had trouble starting car, took car back, he told me it was alternator fault, I said do you think so, he said I KNOW SO!
I thought he was wrong because it was showing 14volt input when engine running, took it to my Mechanic put new starter motor on, Problem solved”
“1. Arrive for my appointment tyres not turned up.
2. Arrive again wrong tyres fitted had to be taken off.
3.Get call wrong tyres have arrived again.
If it was not for the well mannered fitter I would not of given any stars”
“I think I have just been given a second hand tyre. It has yellow and pink dabs of paint in two locations. A new tyre would never have this. Also that 'new' tyre was inflated to 41 psi when all the remaining three are inflated to 32 psi. The drive home was scary. On top of that, I booked on line for a 10 am appointment, then had to wait until 10.55 am before they looked at the car. Never again”
“for starters i didn't paid the £35 for the Mot in Thetford as advertised by Kwik Fit right outside their shop. paid £45, considering my car is average size and considerably recent model. but then after checking their website it says £35 if book online. thanks, never the less, personally, the person who serve me during the booking could of at least brought that up about the £10 saving as courtesy but i guess the words cost money in that place!
and then what i thought would be a quick Mot pass cause the car is running absolutely fine, well it did passed but with a hand full of advisories on the certificate that i found nonsense considering the car is driving perfect with no smells, no signs or strange noises of any kind that indicate that! seriously nothing!
i will have this checked by another mechanic to confirm.
about KWIT FIT, honestly to me personally my experience was a mistake and a lesson.
was my first time in their shop and a lesson to learn.
to never again!!”
“Unhelpful staff, wouldn’t help even though I was distressed as I’d got a flat tyre across the road from the shop. They offered overpriced tyre. This was my second bad experience with them so would not recommend.”
“I did their wheel aligment ,after the service the car strangely run and the steering wheel is not set stright ahead for driving.I was on the patch already 2 times but still unable to set the steering wheel for straight-ahead. Everything was fine before the service was done!”
“Tried to leave review using QR code & website both didn't work..
had an exhaust fitted by Witham branch, that was good. but they told me that my oil filter needed changing it was a coincidence that it sprung an oil leak on the same day & was gushing out, even saw a lovely puddle of oil on the floor. I said I would sort it when I got home. Funny .. no oil leak . 1 week later still no oil leak and no oil light ... really disappointed in you Kwik-Fit .. wont be going again”
“Had an mot carried out at Stonehaven kwik fit, despite having car fully serviced and pre mot checked elsewhere they failed it on ridiculous amount of things. Took it to 2 further garages who disagreed and was passed with one advisory. Avoid, cheap mot price is not worth the hassle and stress. Kf don't care when you complain. Avoid at all costs.”
