“I haven't purchased a sweater online in a while, but is this how pockets are made now (in China)? Not sewn-in, but attached to the garment with strings? What happens when the strings break?! Yikes!”
“i received Girls Long Sleeve Button Front Peter Pan Collar Knit Shirt for girls, where said 100% cotton!!! i was surprise! cheapest quality, shirt polyaster or syntactic, not even looks like cotton!
very bad this is Land's End”
“Our company has used Lands End Business for many years. They always have great products and complete our order accurately & timely. This year production was a bit slower than usual, understandably with supply chain issies, but they did a fantastic job again. Everything looks great and our order is exactly what we wanted. Thank you Lands End!!”
“Ordered item Sept. 17. Right away back ordered. Latest is now after Christmas. Ridiculous but Covid World. Recently got a 60% off promotional code. Asked to have that used on my item. No can do since now item sold out. Asked for credit in amount of 60% off. Roshanda said no. Will not buy from them again.”
“Charged me $9 for shipping to me and another $6.95 to send them back because they did not fit. So, $36.35 purchase and a refund of $19.77. I'll never purchase anything from them again.”
“Our daughter’s school has used Land’s End for uniforms for as long as we’ve been there. Up until this year, we’ve never had any major issues. They’ve never had super fast shipping, but it’s always been doable. Unfortunately, this year things changed. My daughter started school along with a ton of other students without their uniform orders! We were able to get by since our’s is in 5th and we had leftover from last year…but barely! There were many new students who had to go out of uniform because Land’s End was literally months behind! I had hoped this was short term, but after waiting months on their 20% off sale, I just placed another order because my daughter-in-law a growth spurt and has no coat that fits for school. This order will take 1-2 months to arrive!!! By the time we receive the order, we might not need it. If this continues, I’m quite sure our school will have to find a vendor that can get uniforms to the students in a timely manner.”
“Ordered 3 dress shirts, each with the same monogram letters and format. Today I received the shirts and somehow Lands End opted to change the monogram in 2 out of the 3 shirts.
Customer service stated that cannot accept returns or correct the error because the shirts are monogrammed, “even if it is their mistake”. I’m sure they are reading from a script, but thus business is quickly going downhill along with the parent company, Sears.
If they can’t get an order straight and won’t correct their mistakes, they should already close this place down.”
“I placed an order with a Lands End agent via the phone. My order was paid on the same date it was ordered. Two weeks later, I called Lands End to inquire about the date when my order will arrive. I was told by the agent that it is unknown when my order will leave their warehouse in Wisconsin and unknown when it will be delivered to me. The reason given is due to heavy customer demand, there is a problem processing all the orders due to lack of employees. I explained that when I placed the order, the agent never mentioned to me that my order would be delayed. Their business management policies need to be reviewed and revised as the end result is poor customer service.”
“I placed an order for school uniforms on 6/30. The sizes delivered were too small; so, I went through their process to return the items for the next size up. Their policy is if it is from the school uniform 'list', then only a store credit will be issues and not a refund. So, I had to wait for the credit to be received ... this took until 8/3 (!!) and placed the order. It is 8/25 and I just called to demand a cancellation since I am still without my order AND my account reflects 'processing' still on one item and 'backordered' on the other items (with no expected date). The lady was very rude and condescending and made it seem like she was doing me a favor by allowing a refund VS their 'policy' of a store credit. So, now I will be tied up with constant follow up until I see the money back in my account. $152 tied into only a portion of school uniforms is ridiculous!”
“Purchased some size 14 D cup bathing suits from Lands End like I have done the past 15 years. The suits I got were so tight in the body that I literally could not get them past my hips. Once I finally got past my hips (by holding my breath) the sewn-in cups hit me at the bottom of my rib cage. I went back and ordered a size 16W and 18W and had the SAME PROBLEM. Sad to say I will never ever be able to buy bathing suits again here. Utterly disappointed.”
“Lands End used to be such a great company -- but you're now just stuck in the past, and merchandise control has gone totally downhill. Your returns are also completely antiquated in an age of Amazon, Zappos and even just plain Macy's. I purchased 4 sets of school uniforms, trying to find a fit for my daughter. One skirt would fit, I would rebuy the SAME item in the SAME size, and the skirt would be two sizes too small. Really a pain to deal with this. Then, in order to return, rather than seeing the item online and clicking that you're going to return it, then generating a label and a form for your records, you have to painstakingly go through a paper return label with no pictures -- so you have to hunt for numbers. Antiquated, irritating system which is a waste of time and, to some degree, a disrespect for customers. Then -- instead of having an email and online record, you have to scan everything to prove you've returned. And go to the post office to get a receipt rather than UPS just scan and send you email. Think about upgrading your vendors for quality control and your returns process. I will search out another vendor next time.”
“I am wearing a turtle neck from Lands End that I seriously bought 15 or 20 years ago. I looks like the day I bought it. My last shipment of 5 shirts just arrived. The material is thin, the sizes not right, the fit is terrible -- sleeves too tight, stretch material is like thin gauze. Won't order again. Goodbye old friend”
“I purchased a swimsuit that do not fit well. After returning the suit, Lands' End took 16 dollars from my refund to cover shipping. There is not way a lightweight suit costs 16 dollars to ship back. I wasted 16 dollars on a crappy swimsuit. Will never shop Land's End again.”
“I’ve purchased a number of Women’s Lightweight Cotton Turtlenecks from Land’s End (usually online) over the years. Historically I’ve always re-ordered as they slowly wear out, because I’ve been so pleased with the comfort and quality.
Goodness, what happened? I noticed when my batch of six 2020 shirts arrived that they felt much thinner than before—but as I needed to use them right away I didn’t think too much about it.
Now one of them has already spontaneously developed small holes in the neck and on one cuff. My shirts are always washed on a gentle cycle and damp-dried on low with other clothing of similar fabrics then hung to finish drying. All of the current batch have been laundered ~20 times. None have been exposed to anything sharp or causing friction.
Customer Service responded promptly but with a request that I return the defective shirt. However, the prepaid label requires me to take the package somewhere or pay a not-insubstantial fee for pickup at my residence (althougn the carrier is here 2-3 times weekly for deliveries). NOT going out in this pandemic to ship something and NOT going to pay a fee for a defective product to do so.
I’m very disappointed in Land’s End, and next time will be seeking my shirts from another vendor. ”
“My jogging pants are less than a week old and already the crotch is nearly down to my knees. There is no way of tightening the waist band, and they feel so uncomfortable.
They are petite medium. Oh dear.”
“Over the past few months I’ve ordered many Christmas presents, a coat, shoes, and pajamas for myself. ALL were received as promised with excellent quality. I especially liked the winter pajamas. Nice and warm but still light weight and soft. I also ordered summer polo tops on sale for a nice discount given the top quality. Very happy with all of my purchases and received many compliments from those receiving gifts.”
“After a recent purchase, I was once again bombarded with advertising from Lands' End. I bought a pair of 'fine cord' trousers, as I had previously bought cords from them which had lasted well. Sorry to say that these are thinner and all round cheaper in design and fabric. I need a spare pair, so will not be returning them, but I wouldn't buy them again.”
