The hot weather can definitely cause stress to lawns, often turning grass yellow or brown despite best efforts☹️. The best way to avoid this is to ensure you are watering regularly. Once conditions cool and there's a bit more moisture, you should see improvement, especially if your lawn is well-established.

“Truly excellent product, my lawn has become much more lush and thicker. If I don't give it 5 starts is because the granules are far too big to put them through the spreader and I had to spread the product by hand instead, which wasn't a real problem as the granules are large enough to easily see where you have already been. I will most definitely use the product regularly and would recommend to anyone to do the same. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!”

“Lawnsmith have been very good, quick despatch and delivery, couldn't ask for more. This last lot of seed however, not so quick. Despite the warmer weather it has been very slow to germinate, at the moment about 50% so fingers crossed.”

Just to add, while warmth is generally good for germination, excessively warm or dry weather can actually slow down germination. Seeds need consistent moisture and moderate temperatures to germinate well. When it’s too hot and dry, the soil can dry out quickly, making it harder for seeds to establish. Sometimes a little cooler, damp weather helps the grass come through stronger and faster.

“I loved your products and am about to order more wildflower seeds. However, I wanted to understand exactly what to do when sowing them eg. should I cover them with topsoil, how thinly/thickly should they be spread/ how much water do they require.
