About Le Chameau:

Le Chameau are the only rubber boots to be handmade by a single master bootmaker, each pair is unique. Using the highest quality materials and with a range of iconic and innovative styles, Le Chameau Maîtres Bottiers have been making our boots by hand for over 90 years. Every Le Chameau boot is constructed by one Maîtres Bottier. In order to become a Maîtres Bottier it takes 9 months of training before they are permitted to construct their first rubber boot.

“I aide my boot jack nearly every day. No longer needing another person to assist me with the removal of my boots is wonderful. I intend to make it a Christmas or birthday gift to others.”

“I ordered the same size as last time but the were much much tighter. I’ll need to go up a size next time. So disappointed they are too small really. Love the colour. I also think pulling them off with a boot Jack, strains the join between the sole and the upper part. I will order again but will go up a size.”

“Very comfy boots, though I had to put an additional insole in them to make them fit perfectly as I'm always between sizes. Very happy with them - sturdy enough for muddy walks in the woods, and classy enough (when cleaned up!) for a trip to the city.”

“I need every year one pair of these boots because I am a farmer and I wear them every day. They are very comfortable and I have no sweaty feet. The onliest disadvantage is, that they break down after a year at the latest. This year it was not possible to get them in Germany. I have to order them in France. All in all, I am satisfied”

“Good. I still have my very old Le Chameau rubber shoes, which are not produced anymore and the soles are a lot heavier than the current boots. I still don't quite understand why there are no exchanges allowed, only repurchases.”

Hi Judi, Thank you for leaving this review. I have taken a look at your order and can see you have purchased our Iris Boots. These are our lightest weight boots, they feature a single density sole which is designed especially to weigh less than others in the range. We are currently working on getting our exchanges back up and running, I can only apologise for the time being we have had to pause offering this service, I will pass on the feedback that this is something you wish to see re-instated soon.
