About Le Chameau:

Le Chameau are the only rubber boots to be handmade by a single master bootmaker, each pair is unique. Using the highest quality materials and with a range of iconic and innovative styles, Le Chameau Maîtres Bottiers have been making our boots by hand for over 90 years. Every Le Chameau boot is constructed by one Maîtres Bottier. In order to become a Maîtres Bottier it takes 9 months of training before they are permitted to construct their first rubber boot.

“I bought the Iris Chelsea at Equine Divine as a last resort when my favorite old hiking boots gave up the ghost (well, soles actually) just before a hike in the woods. "Try them, you'll like them!" The saleswoman said. I whined and complained. "I like my old leather boots!" "Try them, you'll like them!" She repeated. I snivelled: "But they're rubber. And they're FRENCH!" "Try them, you'll like them!" She insisted. So I tried them: Thought I'd gone to heaven. Supportive without being stiff. Light but not flimsy. Toe box and heel counter? Ahhh! Just right! They took me on a three mile hike through Hitchcock Woods in comfort and security. So. I will take a nice helping of Crow, with Humble Pie for dessert. A La Mode!”

“I have had my leather lined Chasseurs for 23 years, 4 of which I was a Farm Manager and wore them virtually every day. They are still going (just!) although I think I may have finally sprung a leak around the ankle somewhere as prolonged immersion in water eventually makes the inner leather lining damp in that area. I can't recommend them enough. 23 years of abuse and still going!”
