“We are in our 50’s and had a real challenge on our hand to get mortgage protection insurance as my wife had type 2 diabetes with a really high HbA1c reading and high blood pressure of 155/90 along with very high BMI of 36 and I had elevated cholesterol 7.1 and white coat syndrome for high blood pressure at 165/82 if I got my blood pressure checked at GP with a BMI of 32. John Hourigan at lion.ie was amazing to work with and gave us precise advice on how to approach the insurers for getting our mortgage protection in place. He took our blood reports and other Medical data and approached the underwriters in advance securing pre approvals which was amazing as we had got a lot of postponements due to our tough medical health .He then guided us through the PMA process whereby our GP had to fill out our medical reports. When John went on holidays Kathleen Sammon and Hannah McGowan provided amazing support and coverage. I was anxious , nervous & frustrated and would call and email multiple times asking questions and following up on status and was always responded to courteously and in a timely fashion. We have secured our mortgage protection which enabled us to buy our dream house. I am delighted we chose Lion.ie for our mortgage protection”

“Contacted them regarding income protection they responded very quickly and We're able to explain the process very simply to me and arrange for my policy. “I had a fantastic experience with Lion.ie and Richard and couldn't recommend them more. My case wasn't completely straightforward, but the team made the whole mortgage protection process feel simple and stress-free. They took the time to understand my situation and found a solution much quicker than I expected. Communication was excellent throughout. After an initial phone call, everything was handled efficiently by email, and I always got quick responses whenever I had questions. I really appreciated how proactive they were in keeping me updated, so I never had to chase anyone for information. They found me a very competitive policy, and the entire process was smooth from start to finish. It was a real pleasure dealing with such a professional and friendly team. “I have used Lion a few times and directed friends towards them. It is a personal service that is efficient and puts you at ease. Lion can also deal with tricky personal situations instead of getting lost with a large insurer. They also help with identifying the best product you need, life insurance for example can be a head melt for regular people. The communication is consistent and quickest I have ever experienced. No cumbersome phone apponitments like the mainstreet banks require and it's the same underwriter. Lion know how to make the experience as painless and prompt as possible. A great business that I highly recommend.”

“I cannot recommend Lyon enough. We got mortgage protection with them two years ago and they were fantastic. I have an underlying health condition and was very nervous about applying for mortgage protection, but from the start Nick was great, and Kathleen explained everything clearly and made the whole process easy. Buying your first home is stressful, but mortgage protection with these guys was the easiest part. Two years later I got in touch with Nick to look into salary protection insurance, not thinking it was something I would qualify for. Once again, Nick and Hannah were incredibly helpful and supportive, and I was able to get cover. I work with the public, and I have already recommended them to many people—and will continue to do so. Best in the business!”

“I’m a 55 year old male with various medical issues over the years but thanks to John’s guidance, patience and understanding he got us over the line with our mortgage protection and now my wife and I have successfully managed to buy our forever home. I had a major health-wise hiccup at one stage along the way ( my fault ) whilst in the middle of my application and I honestly thought all was lost but John got us there in the end. Don’t even think of looking elsewhere. John and this company know what they are doing. A+”

“I naively left Mortgage Protection until one of the final steps during my house-buying process. I had recently been prescribed a new medication by my doctor, and my cover was postponed by another company through a different broker. I rang Lion by chance to see if there was anything that could be done, as I was in the final stages of securing the mortgage and John could not have been more helpful. He was right on the ball with submitting the application, ensuring my GP received the necessary documents and sent them back quickly. Within no time at all, I had cover sorted and I am now about to collect the keys to my new home. I highly recommend Lion.”
