“I ordered 7 single issues of different magazines which were a great bargain as they were a lot cheaper than in the shops. They took three weeks to arrive but we have had some postal strikes. They all arrived together and in great condition. Personally, I am very pleased. Thanks!”

“They deserve zero stars. We have four subscriptions with them. One magazine stopped producing after two issues. Magazines direct informed us we would receive a refund within 30 days of their email notifying us of the ceasing of that magazine. The 30 days expired three weeks ago. Magazines Direct won't respond to emails about providing the refund. For our other three subscriptions we are owed multiple magazines for each of them which were not delivered over the past four months. Magazines Direct have twice promised their delivery and still we have not received any one of them. If Magazines Direct don't resolve these issues with us in the next few days, we are going to refer them to Which and seek advice as to which trading investigator Magazines Direct's conduct should be referred to. They give every indication of being unable to meet their subscriber commitments.”

“This company is useless. They take your money and do not deliver. Their customer service is ridiculous. I wonder if it's a legit company. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.”

“The magazine I've purchased never arrived. I've sent emails about the issue, even offered to pay separate shipping so the company could send me another one, and they simply won't respond. I purchased the magazine in May, waited a month for it and nothing, contacted them about it, and they just ignore me. And I have paid for it in advance! So if you're looking to buy any magazines, try a different company.”

“Worst magazine company ever! Don't buy from them. I've purchased a single guitar magazine, never received, then I sent a couple of emails and offered to pay for extra shipping so they could send me again, and no response. Sent another email to figure out if they were going to send me the magazine or not so I could buy from a different company and they just won't respond. If you're thinking on purchasing magazines, buy from another supplier. Magazines Direct sucks!!!”

“Ordered an annual subscription to one of Magazine Direct home and gardens magazines. WORST customer service I have experience. I opted out for renewal during the year as magazines just never arrived. Despite raising emails, calls and live chat queries with their customer services, the company confirms they have forgotten to send it over 6 months now, ignore requests for refunds and do not acknowledge this request - avoiding the conversation at all costs. 6 month's later no refund and no copies. The approach and false promises make me feel that this company is untrustworthy, unreliable and have taken the money and not delivered. I have never written comments before but this feels completely wrong and I would not want anyone else to have this experience so would suggest they are avoided. For a magazine I always looked forward to, they have now put me completely off buying any of their products again.”

“We previously subscribed to 3 magazines, but opted not to renew. We currently purchase single issues of one, however it is still hit or miss whether we receive it.”

“Ordered a six month subscription of Sporting Gun which they offered 2 free tickets for the Scottish Game Fair for new subscribers. Phoned their customer service who had no knowledge of the offer. This company should be avoided at all costs and deserve to be called out for what they are and cannot be trusted to deliver”

“I purchased a 12 month magazine subscription back in Dec 21, which included a free gift. By March I had heard nothing and received nothing so decided to start chasing. The phone number supplied connected to another country. I became suspicious and asked to cancel my subscription and get my money back. I was told they couldn't do this and would need to cancel the magazine publisher directly! They then arranged for a copy to come out to me urgently, which arrived about a month later, not through the post, but some random guy in his car. I heard nothing again for another month or two so left a scathing review after which I received a response and apologies only to receive another magazine, not through the post again but a random guy in his car......fast forward to now and I have received a total of 3 magazines in 7 months and only receive one when I chase. They wont give me my money back and I can only speak to a foreign chap with bad english. This is some kind of scam, not sure I'll ever receive my magazines as I've given up chasing for them. Will just leave this review wherever I can to warn others.........AVOID AT ALL COSTS”

“Absolutely appalling. Been waiting since last September for the promised free gift. Despite SEVEN emails saying they’re really sorry and the gift is now on its way, it never arrives. No explanation, nothing other than a “sorry” we’ve now sorted it please wait another twenty eight days for it to arrive. I have now waited for the original sixty day and am now in the middle of the FIFTH lot of twenty eight days. Will never buy another subscription again from this company.”

“Absolute scam! I wanted to try 6 copies for £6 and then cancelled and they re set up a direct debit and took a further £6 under a different company name which they did 3 times even tho I’d cancelled with my bank so they’d saved my bank details and reset it up illegally then they continued to send me magazines and bill me £44.50 quarterly (several times again) I’ve tried cancelling so many times and they continue to take my money with my bank details! I will have to change my bank card”

“What a complete sham ! After taking out a digital camera subscription expecting a free gift which has never arrived and probably never will this is after call after call only to be told yet again the gift is on its way complete and utter tosh ! I wonder how many other people have taken out a subscription expecting a free gift for it never to appear ? I would not touch this company with a barge pole !”

“I've subscribed to Four Four Two for years and all of a sudden the magazines stopped arriving. When I called, I was told they could not find my subscription, but the money kept being taken from my account. I am currently on hold to them for the 4th time today after more than a month of emails and calls to try and resolve this issue, including multiple promised callbacks that never came. This company is a disgrace”

“Waited 3 months for my order of 3 single magazines which did not turn up. Requested a refund, given the run-a-round by customer service continually. Made to provide details and screenshots of transactions over and over again. No refund issued. They are thieves avoid at all costs.”

“Looking at the reviews on here, regarding people not receiving their subscriptions, listen to this. My Father passed away about a year ago, so we "cancelled", or so we thought,his weekly subscription to a TV magazine as his Bank Account would be closed. We phoned up and told them and they said everything was sorted. Thank you very much we said. Cutting a long story short, they have sent a mag EVERY week for the past year without any payment and we have told them he doesn't need it anymore as he is no longer with us!!! Still they keep coming on time every week! Enough!”

“AVOID ... Took out a subscription that promised a free £10 e-gift card. Still waiting for it 3 months later. Dealt with the 'Customer Services' about 10 times - just get told stupid things like it's been 'Dispatched' (they're referring to an e-gift card - that is delivered via email - so this makes no sense and is just an excuse.) They go on to say that it can take 60 days for the email to arrive after 'dispatch.' An absolute farce and a total con. AVOID”
