I am a new user of Marriner Yarns a friend recomended me to buy yarn from you. I only just started to crochet last year and so far have used bargain yarns from a local craft shop. I now feel confident to make nice garments so decided to buy some Cozy Feet yarn to make my first ever socks. I am very happy with them , the merino/nylon feels so silky and soft and was easy to work with on the hook. I also purchased some merino wool and have started to make myself a suumer top. I only bought two to see if I liked the colour and how it felt to work with . Now I know I like it I am about to purchase enough to finish my project. The Merrino wool is very nice to work with . The service was second to none and the products wonderful. I communicated via email and telephone . I have only deducted a star because I crochet rather than knit and it does not provide a hook size on the info label. Also most patterns are for knitting , I am unable to knit so it would be nice to have more crochet patterns available.

I am enjoying knitting with the wool I ordered and have also crochet a blanket with my last order from you. The wool is lovely but it has a lot of knots in it, is this normal?

I bought two packs of "double knit bunting kit" and one of "chunky bunting kit" and some more double knit that I haven't used yet. I was disappointed the chunky kit pattern was using American stitch terms. I am an experienced crocheter and knitter but could not make sense of the pattern ending up making up my own pattern. Row 3 says inc in first sc ... while row 5 says inc in next sc ... when no stitch has yet been made in that row! Row 9 says Inc, 7sc, inc, ch1 and turn when it should say says Inc, 9 sc, inc, ch1 and turn, Row 11 says Inc, 13sc, inc, ch1 and turn when it should say says Inc, 11sc, inc, ch1 and turn. It continues in the same way! I then embroidered the colours on in long stitch rather than cross stitching them as I wanted the bunting to be correct back and front. The knitting pattern asked me to knit two flags and stitch them together which I felt would make the flags too stiff so again I modified the pattern to lie flat. I did not want to embroider the Union Flag on it so worked it in Fair Isle (working with 7 small balls of wool!). After three flags I got bored with the knitting so used them to decorate a hat and made the rest into a Jubilee gilet which has been much admired! The yarn and hooks/ needles are very good but the patterns are disappointing.

Good service, quick postage and well priced. The only thing that let it down was one of the yarn cones I purchased was not as great quality as I'd have hoped. There was split in the yarn stand (slubby possibly) which isn't a huge thing, but it's still inconvenient and irritating. There is also a random patch of colour in the yarn that doesn't match (possibly when the yarn was being dyed and wasn't spotted when it was wound), so this will require a little cutting and knotting strands so that I don't have this appearing in my garment and ruining it.

We found that one ball of wool had a dark mark on it it was noticed after several rows had been knitted it was very disappointing to unravel several rows of knitting

Fantastic service, quick and accurate. Great value for money, especially on the cheaper yarns. One small niggle, some of the double knitting yarns seem very thin compared to others, don't know if this is due to the dying process.

I bought the Super Soft Baby double knit, very pretty colours, however it was not as soft as I expected. It is not as soft as I have previously bought from Shaws, having said that it knits up nicely
