“The worst massage experience I’ve ever had. In the middle of my massage I asked my therapist to go deeper and he told me he was too tired today and then I should have empathy for him because he was been working too hard and couldn’t give me a massage that was any deeper. He the said maybe I was having a bad day and that I needed to talk it out with him and would not leave the room. When I went to explain what happened at the front desk, because after 20 minutes of my massage, the front desk attendant had an absolutely terrible aggressive attitude and said I had to pay for the entire massage, even though their therapist was too tired to give me a massage. I highly recommend never going to this place. It’s the massage parlor in downtown Chicago: · 345 E Ohio St”

“Robbed of full service purchased. Atlanta Midtown location. Paid for 60 minutes received 25. I didn't realize staff clean up/set up time was part of my payment. Poor customer service and Management. After reaching out to the number provided for Cooperate office which was a dead-end, I understand the attitude of the staff. This was definitely a learning experience. I will never, ever return”

“I was giving a couples massage as a Christmas gift. I could not use it for a few months due to my current health issues. When I called to schedule the appointment a few months later, I was told the deal was no longer active, that it expired December 31. (Promoted for the holiday) I had to go through corporate to get them to honor my gift card. When we finally went, calling was horrible, no customer service skills, and I was told they they do not have the capability of to do couples massages. The highly overweight massage lady fell asleep while giving me my massage. Touched my feet for 30 seconds, never did my lower back after I told her to make that a target area, never touched my face or head, and then tell me my back is so tight, I need to make more appointments before they can really make a difference. lol I’m African American with shoulder length hair, never massage my scalp, I guess she thought I had tracks. Crazy. This was not my first massage but it was my worse one. Will not be going back to ME again.”

“I have been going to the Sunset Hills Massage Envy for over 10 years and have never had a bad experience. This last time I had a man named Matthew. I specifically stated before we began and during the massage his pressure was too hard and I did not want a deep tissue massage. I thought the table I was laying on may break as much as he shook my back from side to side, the table was creaking. I met up with some friends several times in the last week and my back hurt when they hugged me. It's a week later after my massage and my back still hurts. Worst massage I've ever had in my life and I will never be back.”

“Extremely disappointing experience! I bought a message for my husband for his birthday. At that time I specifically asked for a gift card when I went in to purchase, but was told it was all done though his phone number and all he had to do was call in to book the appointment. Now a few months later after they cancelled an appointment, the prices have increased and every time he talks to someone they ask him for an actual gift card, it’s been more of a headache then a gift. I really wish I had saved my money and spent it on a better message place. There are so many places out there, this just happened to be close to us and I thought it couldn’t be too bad. Next time I will definitely travel further away in order to go a more professional facility!!! I will never deal with message Envy again and will tell everyone I know to steer clear. Anyone looking for a place I would highly recommend the Refuge which is amazing!!!!”

“Wilmette,IL Location: 90 minute massage for tension reduction and muscle aches. First time client. Loved the waiting area and the receptionist, Zehra, was professional and very friendly. My therapist was Maria who gave me an amazing massage with BioFreeze and I can't believe how much better I felt and how loose I felt walking out. I prefer quiet and there was no talking except once to check in. I scheduled a facial and another massage in 2 weeks. I also met the manager, Sadaf, who was lovely and so welcoming. Overall: AMAZING EXPERIENCE”

“I rarely if ever write reviews but I couldn’t let this one go unsaid. My husband bought me a $150 gift certificate. I scheduled the appointment. Everything ok leading up to the appointment. They were 5 minutes late taking me back, no big deal the girl ensured me that I would still get 50 minutes ( for the 60 minute massage) because 5 minutes to undress at beginning and 5 minutes after. They really should just call it a 50 minute massage. The massage was literally the worst massage I’ve ever had. She talked the entire time and asked if I was ok every 10 minutes. She was more worried about educating me on stretching than she was on actually giving me a massage. When she said I’m finished and taking another 3-5 minutes of talking I quickly got up to check the time from when it started. It was about 35 minutes! Whatever, I was over it by then and just wanted to get out of there. I get to the desk to check out and was told I couldn’t use my GC that was purchased online that I needed it printed out. I email it in to have them print it. My total was $135 so I asked if I could give the other $25 on the GC plus $10 cc. She said no we can use the GF towards a tip. Why? My husband’s $150 is the same either way! Then they charged me a service fee to use my cc to leave a tip ( that quite frankly wasn’t earned).”

“Canton location - had a gift certificate for $100 as a birthday day gift. I have a massage place so I decided to get a 60 minute facial as advertised for $80 - turns out to be more of 35 minutes (in and out door after filling out paperwork and getting undressed and dressed in 55 minutes). It felt good but def lacked time and completion - disappointed and will not return. Also advised if I didn’t join the membership - the next appt facial would cost $130 - Never!!!”

“I’ve been a member since 2008 and that doesn’t matter it’s a business. I have since then cancelled my membership and will never go back again. If they don’t treat their therapists with respect how are they to treat their members with respect. I’ve had several therapist vent to me on how they are treated and I continued to go because of the therapist but I’m sorry I will not continue with them. I’d rather find someone that does massages out if their home or the school of massage.”

“I had an appointment for a treatment. The esthetician stopped after about 5 minutes saying she couldn’t continue because my skin had started to bleed. I was mortified. I’ve had treatments at other places before and never experienced this. When I got dressed and was leaving she was on the phone with the manager. She said the manager would call me then next day. The manager did not. I emailed and called over the next few weeks and never received a call back. I had been given a gift card for Massage Envy. I tried another location. This time I was the one who stopped the treatment. The esthetician was using an electric back massager. I had already told her once that it was too much pressure and it hurt but she said it was supposed to and kept going. After a few minutes I told her to stop and I wanted to leave. I was not charged for this appointment. The next day I had bruises on my back. Big blue black bruises. So now I have a useless gift card. I’ve tried to reach a Massage Envy corporate office. The phone number and email I found searching online did not work. I called one of the local locations and had no success getting the correct information from them. DO NOT PATRONIZE ANY LOCATION AND DO NOT PURCHASE A GIFT CARD FOR ANYONE YOU KNOW.”

Llame a Massage Envy de Miramar y pedí que me comunicaran con alguien que hablara español para hacer preguntas de mi tarjeta. La muchacha que me contestó me dijo aquí nadie habla español y antes de que ella colgara la persona que estaba al lado escuchado la conversación dijo no español bye bye. No creo que fue una manera de atender a un cliente y menos que es mi primera experiencia. Gracias”

“Very disappointed. I paid for 60 min massage and foot scrub. My appointment was 4:30. However, my massage did not start until 4:45. Including my foot scrub I walked out the room at 4:23 and out of the spa at 4:30. I was told 10-15 min needed to clean/set-up. I don’t understand why it was done during my paid time. Massage was just okay, foot scrub was better. RedFlag. Check-In staff appeared angry. Only one of the 3 ladies at the desk made eye contact upon arrival. I’ll never return.”

“My teenager son was suffering from a really bad case of acne for several months. I took him to see two dermatologist and after zero results, I decided to take him for a facial at Massage Envy in Garden City, NY. Olga did such an amazing job that after a few days, we started to see the improvement. We went for a second facial a month after, and his face is so much better already. I am so glad I took him to Massage Envy. I totally recommend this place and especially Olga. Her nurturing and caring demeanor is just amazing.”

“Can’t get in when I actually need massage for migraines which is why I enrolled and then scheduled 2 months in advance for my daughter’s wedding and it was canceled due to someone quitting and I was never notified. This has happen last 3 events and on my birthday. Would never recommend them.”

“I was lied to about being able to cancel my membership at anytime. My massage therapist was great but the receptionist man was rude and stupid if he thought I would give him my new address. I will never ever use this company for service they are scheming an preying on people an there money I advise any and everyone to stay far away from the cedar Hill location unprofessional at most. Horrible I've ever seen!!! I've had to close my accounts so they couldn't take An money Steal money from me anymore. Thankfully I recorded the conversation when I applied for membership an I recorded the conversation when I tried to cancel. I will be see them in court!”

“Do NOT sign up for a membership. They unexpectedly go up on rates and never explain to you why. Then, if you try to cancel due to medical reasons, they pause or freeze your membership, but extend your initial term so you pay the full 12 months. I will never subscribe with them again.”

“ZERO STARS! I don’t even know where to begin… I would NEVER give anyone I care about a gift card to Message Envy or patronize their business EVER! The customer service is severely lacking and corporate is a JOKE! Last Christmas (2022) my brother had gifted my mom and I each a $100 gift card that he purchased at the West side (Madison) location. When we went to use them we were told that there was no money loaded on the cards. So we ended up paying cash. My brother had to pull his receipts and provided documentation that he paid for the cards. What had happened is the employee never loaded the money on the cards. It was a pain to say the least and message envy did nothing for the inconvenience of their oversight. My brother again gifted my mom and I gifts cards this past Christmas (2023). I called to book our appointments shortly after Christmas at the West side of Madison location and was told that they had no available appointment where my mom and I could get messages consecutively. I told the CSR that we could book out as far as needed to accommodate our request. She said we would have to call back at the end of the month when they had the schedule for the next couple of months available. I called 2 more times and finally on the 3rd call we were able to book our appointment at the same time. Now let’s be clear, this is Not a huge ask!! Anywhere else I have ever gone has no problem booking messages at the same time for people who come together and want to be done at the same time. Message Envy didn’t have any weekends available (at all, which I don’t understand) so we booked for a Monday 2 months out! Message Envy called us on the Friday before our appointment and told us that they had some “bad news” and that “one of our appointments needed to be canceled because a therapist quit”. Both my mom and I had taken off work and have now at this point waited over 4 MONTHS! Needless to say I wanted nothing further to do with Message Envy and asked for the gift card to be refunded. I was told that they do not do that and to call corporate with my concerns. Corporate had the chance to make things right but chose not to. I don’t usually ever write reviews but felt compelled to let the public know so they can steer clear of this disaster of an organization all together.”
