“Garden swing
I ordered a garden swing (3-seater) that arrived with a small hole in a canopy, some screws were too long and the rails were deformed/ damaged so did not want to join together. Tried to contact them directly via email but no response! Dispute via PayPal ended up with me having had to pay for the return postage ( over £30 !) from my pocket. The quality is very poor and customer service even worse. I would not be buying from the website ever again.”
“Ordered a privacy screen which was far too heavy so had to return it. Turns out the weight and length of the product was incorrect on the amazon website so no wonder it was so heavy. The company refused to have anything to do with the return said it was my responsibility to return it and pay for it.
Couldn’t get a courier company to return it due to weight and measurements that’s when they told me ‘I was entering the wrong details’ told them that was the measurement they had on website. Ended up costing me just over £25 to return it”
“I purchased Christmas garlands supplied by MH Star via The Range Online.
The garland arrived in numerous pieces which all had to be self-assembled. Before buying the garland, I read the product description carefully and at no point did it mention that it had to be self—assembled. Due to time restraints, I needed a garland that was already assembled and thought this would be ideal. Unfortunately not! I contacted The Range and was told that MH Star would only allow my refund if I agreed to pay a £8 charge for collection (the price of the garland itself was just under £13). This was completely disproportionate to the cost of the product. I emphasised that under Consumer Rights law I was entitled to a full refund as the product was NOT AS DESCRIBED online. The product description has now been amended online since my complaint. The company is being dishonest about this. I am being accused by their disputes team of not reading it properly and told that I ‘have to be held accountable for my actions’. My refund is still being refused unless I pay the £8 collection fee. Utterly despicable company. No regard for consumer rights. I have left a similar review for The Range, as both companies’ approach to customer service has been shocking.
During our conversation, the customer service advisor claimed that MH Star advised me by email that all of their products are self-assemble products. Whilst that is true, the email from MH Star was sent on 25 December, which was one week AFTER I had purchased the product. This was absolutely no use to me at that point.”
“DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - ORDERED THROUGH CAZAAR!
Ordered my item and tried to return it, however they claimed I couldn't return to them even though they were around the corner from me and insisted it had to go through their courier. They refused to give me my money back and it wouldn't make it back within the 30 days even though my return was within the 30days.”
“Scam ordered a product on pigsback.com paid and then they cancelled the order saying they had none in stock. They are still advertising the product so my advice is shop somewhere else.”
“Horrendous experience, received a burst open package, scratches on our table, paint chipped off the chairs, and bent fittings. Battled for a month and a half before giving up and accepting us the £70 partial refund (for a £500 product) they offered us. Totally insulting and they are nothing better than entirely incompetent.”
“Total cowboys, unprofessional and left us feeling completely scammed. Avoid at all costs.
Wish I’d read all the reviews before wasting £246.59 on such a dreadful quality metal shed. They refuse to refund unless you pay for the shed to be returned yourself, this is not in line with their own returns policy online. This of course costs a huge amount as it’s a large and heavy. You must return it in an unopened as new condition. But we opened it to ascertain it was rubbish quality. They are ignoring all our emails and messages through PayPal. Total waste of money, lots of stress and regret not reading the companies reviews”
“Scam. Ordered a Babygate first from Wayfair then from The Range. Neither showed up and on looking into it they are both supplied by MH STAR UK LTD.... Definitely avoid anything sold by this company or through the range and wayfair if supplied by this company.”
“The fireplace worked for a few minutes when I tested it spring time. When I put it on 7 months later it stopped working. This company said all there electrical goods come with a 6 month warranty. Amazon did nothing to help , so my credit card company got my money back. Electrical goods must have a minimum of 12 months warranty.”
“Avoid at all costs. I think they are a scam. I have emailed 3 rimes asking for a refund for a package that was apparently sent and not delivered. Not even the courtesy of a reply. Spend your money elsewhere, they aren't to be trusted”
“These people are jokers.
I purchased a portable air conditioner from them a year ago and only used it a few times, it's still like brand new. It stopped working a few weeks ago and I contacted there website with a week to go in my guarantee. I had no response. I contacted them again and by this time they did respond but said it was out of guarantee and couldn't help me. They are terrible people please keep well clear.N Smith”
“Would never purchase anything from this MH Star ever again returned faulty purchase and paid £ 8.95 postage they said they never received package but lucky for us the courier had a picture of the delivery and a signature so after numerous emails through Amazon messaging service they said they fserth the package, Amazon returned purchase price but MH Star would not refund postage.”
“the worst customer service i have experienced. The item did not arrive. we had to print out and fill in a 'disclaimer ' form and return it to them so they could investigate with their courier who btw WILL NOT be able to produce proof of delivery because we haven't received our item!!!!! ...they are not contactable by phone so will drag this out forever and we want our £130 BACK”
