“The service was average for the following reasons, 1. I had asked for a surveyor in my area Poole Dorset, the surveyor came from Brockenhurst, hardly local. 2. The survey was subcontracted out to a third party. 3. I was quoted £575 + VAT but invoiced £690 no VAT so would not be able to reclaim the VAT element. 4. I asked for specific advice regarding a loft conversion and PV on the roof, neither were mentioned. 5. The survey was done promptly but the report took over a week to arrive and only after I had chased it.”

“Having used this company three months previously for a homebuyers report and subsequently not bought the property as lots of problems were found, I felt happy to use them again. As this property was older and more expensive I decided to go for a Full Building Survey, BIG MISTAKE ! The survey I got back was 36 pages of 'waffle' talking about restricted access to internal areas due to furniture, fittings and personal possessions, it was EMPTY ! It related to stairs and the upper floor, in a BUNGALOW ! A lower ground floor room which didn't exist ! Mentioned some defects and faults but did not say where they were In one section said there were no air bricks, in the next section talked about the air bricks, which are in every wall I wrote an email to Andrewn Mancias who replied that i needed to sort it directly with the surveyor, who I had included in the email,even though it was Mirus that I had paid. The surveyor wrote directly to Andrew suggesting I should be refunded and the survey cancelled. Which thankfully happened I received NO explanation and NO apology which I thought to be very bad mannered and unprofessional I would NOT recommend this company”

“Availability was a bit of an issue as they were not able to carry out the survey within 2 weeks. The survey itself was not very detailed and I specifically ask for a valuation but there was no figure given, it merely said that the property was reasonable value which is not very helpful. On the plus side Miras were prompt with communications and all the arrangements went smoothly.”

“Very pleased with the survey and with the price. Surveyor seemed highly knowledgeable and also gave his opinion rather than sitting on the fence which was refreshing. Was a nice touch that you can actually speak to the person who went to the property and talk through any points that come up. Would have given 5 stars if not for slight lack of communication at times. Would definitely recommend and use again.”

“Our survey missed various key points which ended up costing us quite a bit of money including various leaks with damage to visible timbers, leaks on two flat roofs and unprotected mains electrics running across the grass to our garage which could of been very dangerous. One room has completely moldy walls which would of shown up on a damp test. the property was listed as solid wall but it actually is cavity wall.. etc”

“The survey was comprehensive, informative and detailed. The survey was received as requested promptly (within 2 days) and the surveyor was accessible and very helpful. I would have liked a receipt confirming payment received as the payment was sent prior to the survey being carried out.”

“Found the service very professional. The gentleman carrying out the survey rang me straight after he'd seen the property I want to buy and told me all the information I needed to know and gave me advice regarding specific questions I had posed. This was followed up by a very impressively presented survey report containing lots of information and photographs etc. Would highly recommend.”

“Bob was fantastic in his review of the property and subsequent feedback to me. He explained everything thoroughly and so that I understood all the points he was making in the survery. I am vey grateful and would recommend your firm to anyone I know who is purchasing a house, Infact, this firm was recommended to me by a friend and I will definately use again should we need a surveyor in the future”

“Mirus were helpful and very reasonably priced. I needed two surveys and both were completed on the same day with an initial report provided then and there and the full reports earlier than the committed dates. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.”

“Mr Gavaghan was extremely professional He carried out the survey shortly after inital comtact was made. His report was clear, concise and well illustrated with photographs. He pointed out all the drawbacks, areas of future concern and possible risks. His report prompted me to pull out of purchasing the property surveyed and potentially saved me a lot of money. The survey was worth every penny I paid. I would recommend Mr Gavaghan to anyone.”
