When I say this I refer to prior to Covid-19 because after covid there is no more excitement to go into a Mr price store because the clothes only caters fashion for one age group there is no variety like before. It is actually sad that more and more people tend to go with Shein instead of supporting local but then on the other you cannot blame because we not getting free clothes from Mr price we pay and to pay for clothes that looks boring is disappointing.”

Context – My daughter went to the branch in 3 Rivers mall with a friend. As they got to the door, a staff member, female, started chatting to my daughter’s friend, and told the friend to tell my daughter she is not permitted to enter, no reason given.
Since my daughter is passive, she left, but explained the situation to me in confusion that same evening. I managed to get a complaint through and the area manager Renier contacted me via the formal routes (website). He showed initial interest in getting to the bottom of the issue. After that, it was difficult to get anything out of him, as I suspect the “I’ve done my part” mentality had kicked in as his response was “its been escalated to the store’s Ops manager”. The last communication was the 20th of Feb. I DID have one email say that they “couldn’t get through on the cell number provided”. Irony is every other person I know gets a hold of me perfectly fine on the number Renier got, on cellular or whatsapp! What a lame excuse! At this point I only care for an email apology and explanation!”

“I go to Ballincollig store and in last few months the customer service when a lovely lady 'Sonia'is working is second to none. Goes out of her way, job description and is just brilliant. She is articulate and I always leave the store with a smile. Helped me so much with occasions and knew exactly what to pick and excellent taste.”
“I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I have received from Mr Price (MrP) following a fraudulent transaction on my account.
In December, my account was used fraudulently for in-store purchases amounting to approximately R11,000. What is most concerning is that, despite MrP’s usual practice of requesting proof of identity for in-store purchases, this was clearly not followed in this instance. As a result, the fraudster was able to make multiple purchases without any identity verification.
I only became aware of the fraud when I visited a store to make a purchase and was informed of the outstanding amount. I immediately followed the required process by opening a case at the nearest SAPS station and reporting the matter in store. I submitted all requested documentation and was assured that the MrP Fraud Department would contact me within 48 hours after receipt of my documents.
It has now been almost two months, and I have received no communication whatsoever from MrP. I am the one constantly making follow-ups, with no feedback, progress updates, or resolution. This lack of communication and urgency has been frustrating and disappointing, especially given the seriousness of fraud.
At this point, I am simply waiting for the matter to be resolved so that I can settle any legitimate outstanding balance and end my relationship with MrP. This experience has highlighted significant gaps in both in-store controls and customer support processes.”
“I had an account with Mr Price. When making a payment in Clearwatermall, I was given a sim card with no explanation and joked about it being an inventive. Still no explanation. I paid to close off the account last year early November 2025, confirmed in-store if it was okay because the balance was zero. They couldn't get through to their customer care. Next day went Randridge mall and got the same confirmation that the account is on zero and it was fine. This year 2026, I got an email that the account is in arrears. Apparently that sim card was a contract number. I'm trying to get this written off as I was never advised that. I would never have accepted it. They are giving me a run around. I took it coz I assumed it was prepaid as they used to do that previously. Give all the information to everyone and they will decide on their own. You can't decide for a customer.”
“I ordered clothes and the initial delivery date was the 7th January and now it has changed to the 20 January 2026 everything was dispatched on the 30 December same day as I place the order what madness is this I have never seen an order that takes more than 29 days to be delivered. This is not write even there turn around times says 4 to 7 working days why can’t they honor and deliver there promises to clients I am so disappointed.”

Voel werklik ongelukkig dat so item op die vloer le. Dit is geweldig seer. Vee asb jul vloere gereeld! Dink net as n arme kind daarin getrap het.”

“Dissatisfied customer service, I went to Mr Price at V&A to fetch my laybye at 14:40 and the polite gentleman Wonder advised me he will let me know as soon as he found it, I waited up until 17:02 by the time I final got my clothes offwhich is not the same clothes as in laybay and I had to exchange the items because of the size. To my surprised when I ask for the manager the lady who did not even greeted me unprofessional manager Carmeron who was finger pointing while she was talking to me and she said you can stand there as much as you want we don't have your laybye in our storeroom and it's not my fault so clearly it was mine. And she left me there I have ask her name she refuse to give her name she was very rude I don't even know how come she is the manager and she said the supervisor is not on duty and she does not deal with laybye it's not her job”

“Bad customer service. Take forever to answer their customer care line. If they answer they will say they are transferring you to someone to help you with your problem, then play a song until you drop the call. If you don’t drop, they will just say they can’t hear you, the hung up.”
“First of all, I have absolutely no complaints about the store itself — the staff were friendly, the service was great, everything was fine. But please, for your own sanity, do not even think about getting your own mr Price account. I only signed up because the lady at the counter was so lovely and convincing, and honestly, that’s the only reason I agreed. Biggest mistake ever. The whole process after that has been a nightmare — the fees, the endless messages, the confusing statements — it’s just not worth it. I wish someone had warned me before I signed that form. So yes, the store is fine… but that account? Never again”

My order was placed 28th August, it's 15th September and I being the customer am the 1 phoning courier regarding delivery yet to be received. Giving bad name to Mr Price.”
