I ordered some CDs using an offer. I suddenly disappeared from stock after I placed my order so it didn't make the offer so good. One arrived in a broken case and this is broken on the hinge. I considered selling some DVD but the amount of 113 would have made approx £26 and based on a previous experience the amount would be reduced once Magpie received them. Perhaps consider selling on secondhand sites or donating to local charity.

Scam service - sent in a pristine iPhone that had been in a case and with a screen protector since new, in perfect working order. They then claimed it was faulty with a "1cm green border" around the LCD and tried to drop the price to £24. I am now awaiting return of the item and am deeply concerned that I will find they have deliberately damaged it.

Hello, We're sorry to learn your experience was not positive. As mentioned, upon testing, it was discovered that there was a green frame around the LCD of your device. This is a common issue but as it is a fault with the LCD, we cannot accept the item as 'good' condition. Your device was returned on 30/9. Please note that no devices that are sent to us are "deliberately damaged" - there is nothing to be gained from this. Kind regards, mM CS

Sent my iPhone 6 off to music magpie, the phone was in perfect working order I’d since just got my upgrade. The phone had not been touched since the sim was removed in EE. Music magpie responded saying the sim reader was faulty and only willing to give me £50 for it- I refused this price, I’ve now sent my phone to EE recycling and they are giving me £110 as there is nothing wrong with the phone. My friend had the exact same issue as they claimed her phone was bent. Waste of time, I think they just claim something is wrong with the phone and hope people accept the reduced amount.

Hello, We're sorry to learn you aren't happy with the service you received. Having looked into your order, as mentioned, the device was regraded to faulty as the device wasn't reading SIM cards. Our testers took images to depict this for clarity. If the device cannot read a SIM card it cannot be considered to be in good condition. Any device we receive that isn't in the condition stated when placing the order is regraded with a new offer. We email our customers to let them know of the changes to their order, with the option to accept or decline the revision. Kind regards, mM CS

Worst company EVER! False advertising and robbed me for the money offered for my phone giving me less than half!... Don't use them

Hello, We're sorry to learn your experience was not positive. Having looked into your order, we can see that your item was regraded from good condition to faulty when it was received on 6/8. This regrade is due to screen burn - so severe that the keyboard and icons were showing on the test screen. When your item was regraded, we emailed you to let you know of the changes to your order. At this point, you have four days to either accept or decline the revised offer - had you chosen to decline it, your device would have been returned to you free of charge. We sent you a reminder email on 9/8 to let you know there were 24 hours left of the grace period. If the four day period passes without any contact from the customer, it is automatically accepted, as listed in our terms and conditions. The offer was auto-accepted on 10/8. It was only on 10/8 did we receive contact from yourself in regards to your order. At this point, the offer had been accepted and payment had been authorised. We have adhered to the terms and conditions clearly stated on our website. Kind regards, mM CS

Hello Nicholas, We're sorry to learn your experience wasn't a positive one. In reference to your order, due to casing damage, your item was regraded to poor quality. A dent to the casing is much more than the light wear and tear expected of good condition items. We also explicitly list 'Heavy wear and tear beyond normal usage' as a poor condition specification. Kind regards, mM CS

My box of books was lost between collection by Hermes and delivery to magpie. Also, your quotation for most books is usually a paltry 20p or even 1p. It is just not worth the effort. The only way to make any profit is to have one book of substantial value and add some 20p books to make it in any way worthwhile.

They offered £131 for my near perfect Samsung S6 which has been kept in a case and has no scratches whatsoever. Upon Music Magpie receiving my phone, they Emailed me with a reduced offer of £60 as the item was 'heavily scratched'. My phone is not even 'lightly' scratched. This company try it on. There will people out there who will just shrug and accept this so they get an injection of money into their bank account and don't have the 'hassle' of trying to resell their phone again. Music Magpie know this and no doubt are rubbing there hands in glee when gullible customers just accept their reduced offers. Utter con artists. My phone was pristine and I requested it returned to me. AVOID AVOID AVOID and do not accept their reduced offers based on fabricated rubbish to further line their pockets. Utter joke.

Hello, We're sorry to learn your experience was not positive. Having looked into your order, as mentioned, your item was regraded from good condition to poor condition due to heavy scratches. This goes beyond the wear and tear expected of a good condition phone so it could not be accepted as such. For clarity, the scratches to the item are on the screen of the device as opposed to the casing. We have images of your device when it was received to depict the scratches to the screen. When the offer for a tech item is revised, we inform the customer via email where they have the option to either accept or decline it. If the customer declines, the item will be returned to them free of charge. Kind regards, mM CS

Sent 2 large boxes of electronics. Only received payment for one, when querying the other I was advised the PlayStation I sent had not been received yet all other items in the box arrived no problem at all. They're still denying receipt and haven't paid for the other items yet either... 3 months later!

Hello, We're sorry to learn your experience was not positive. Having looked into your orders, I can see there is a PS2 fat listed in one order where as there is a PS2 slim listed in the other. The PS2 fat was accepted and paid for but we have not received a PS2 slim from your order. Were there two consoles? Kind regards, mM CS

Hello, We're sorry to learn your experience was not positive. For collections we use third party couriers so unfortunately we do not have access to the likes of time slots. All collection information comes from the courier themselves - we do not generate the text or email you receive for collection. Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Kind regards, mM CS

Quoted £175 for an iPhone 6, it is in very good condition and have photos to prove. Recieved an offer of £62 because the phone is supposedly bent, which it certainly isn't. I wish I read these reviews before using this cowboy service! I hope watchdog investigates them!

Sent them a pristine ipod touch 5. Quoted £46 and when they received it they stated it was not as described with a green border around the screen. Rubbish. The item was cherished and sent well packaged to them. Will AVOID in the future. Amateurs with rubbish customer services.

If I could rate this 0 I would. I would definitely advise reading the reviews before using this service. I sent my iPhone 6 off to sell and I was quoted £140. I had an email saying they had received my item but it was not as described and was apparently faulty and had dropped the price to £49. This is not the case because my phone was in perfect working condition when I sent it off. The phone is only a year old and apparently my phone was famously 'liquid damaged' as I learnt from reading the reviews they seem to use this for every phone they receive. I would not recommend this company it's an absolute joke!

Have ordered three CDs from this company, the same one twice. Each time they take the money and several days later refund it because the items were too damaged to sell. This after they say that they have passed rigorous tests before being put up for sale. I have contacted them about this but get a very glib response saying they hope I will use them again, some hope!

I was quoted a price of £ 280 for an iPhone 6 in good condition. Said phone was less than one year old and like new, really well looked after. MusicMagpie claimed the phone was not as described as it had "liquid damage ". Absolute rubbish ! They said it was only worth £ 150. I asked them to send it back to me. I subsequently sold it on Amazon for £320. What a bunch of lying c***s. Take your custom elsewhere folks.

Sent my iPhone 6 off as I was quoted I would get 179 quid for it. I looked after it well during it's lifetime it was always in a case and had protective glass over it. It worked as well as the day I got it. They then sent me an email saying my phone was bent and would only offer 70 quid! I rejected the offer as I found it insulting.

Ive never reviewed a company before but i do not wish for others to waste their time like i did. I tried to sell my phone to them, they advertised they would offered around £70 for it, under the belief this was a fair offer I sent it to them. After all my phone was in good condition. Once they received they offered me £18 on the grounds it was faulty, they did not tell me how so I had to email (they said the screen resolution was faulty and the camera was grainy). Not true. I asked them to send it back. I ended up selling the phone for £77 to the next company I went to. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

My iPhone 5s was in perfect condition, I was offered £60 for it. I just received an email saying they are reducing the payment to £21 because of water damage. I know the phone was fine up until me packaging it up and sending it off. I am absolutely furious! Do I accept the less amount or ask for the phone back and risk getting it back broken like these previous reviews have said. Gutted that I didn't look at any reviews before doing this. Don't use these scammers!

This was the worse experience I've had from a company!! I waited 3-4 weeks for my money after they received my phone on the 12 August, they say you can have your money on the same day they receive and clarify the product! This was unacceptable, I emailed them countless times about my issue and all they replied 'the money will be in you account in the next 24hrs' which never happened! Then they said they was a problem transfering it in to my account so tried my PAYPAL 5 days later there was a problem putting it in that too! Eventually I got a cheque through, I'm hoping that clears as I'm putting it in today!
