“I thought they would be hard metal like my original dog tags but they are aren’t. Otherwise nice”

Hi Sharon, thanks for your feedback and your military service. Our Dogtags are made according to modern military specifications using 304 stainless steel. Depending on when and where you served the tags that you were originally issued may have been slightly thicker which made them seem like a harder metal. Rest assured our tags will last a lifetime.

Hi Wayne, embossed military style dogtags have raised letters which are the same color as the tag itself which does result in less contrast than a laser engraved tag, that is just nature of of mil-spec embossed printing. If you wanted you could try rubbing a black permanent marker over top of each letter to make them stand out a bit more.

Hi David, Thank you for taking the time to review your experience with us. The tags we sell meet the current military specifications. Over time the specs have changed and tags are not as thick as they used to be. During WW2 the army regulations called for about .025" thickness. Current specs are .016" +/- thick. Depending on when and where your tags were issued and who manufactured them there is a lot of variation in the tags. We have been trying to source thicker military tags to better serve customers like yourself. Thank you for your military service.

“Have been using My Dog Tag for years, used the dog tags at work, riveted to Paramedic Medical Kits, ordered 100s work great.
